  1. That would be great. Are they difficult to replace?
  2. Reviving an old thread..... I was given a set of 28.5 UPZ boots that fit well. I tried them on a race course and was pleased with the heelside turns but felt the forward lean was too stiff. Here's a photo of the springs. Is the softest flex achieved by turning both nuts as far apart as possible? And what kind of tool do you use to rotate the nuts?
  3. Tried it again yesterday. The pole is masked but you can see its shadow.
  4. Bummer but you'll bounce back. Heal quickly!
  5. Just bought it and having fun with it. Uploading it to YouTube cuts off a lot of the view but maybe this Facebook link will work. https://www.facebook.com/613025012/videos/908147533191003/
  6. Wachusett Wednesday........ Myself, Andy, and Brad collectively 201 years old.
  7. This gets a reaction riding the six pack bubble chair...
  8. I'm so old that when I attended the University of Florida, the campus cops drove Studebaker Larks!
  9. This was the writeup before he bought it. This Jaguar D-Type replica is said to have been initially built in the late 1960s and was completed under previous ownership approximately 20 years ago. It was acquired by the current owner in 2019 and was fitted with a replacement 4.2-liter inline-six sourced from a 1984 XJ6 in 2021. The car features fiberglass bodywork finished in British Racing Green over a steel and aluminum monocoque chassis. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox reportedly sourced from a 1967 XKE, and additional features include an XKE-sourced front suspension, a shortened Jaguar Mk II rear axle, triple Weber DCOE45 carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, and replica 15″ Dunlop steel wheels. This D-Type replica is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean California title listing the car as a 1955 Jaguar.
  10. A half dozen years ago I experimented with different mounts and put together a short video using a GoPro 2 and a 3+. Since then I've owned a 5 (which I left in Botswana) and an 8 which is a big improvement over the 3+. I ordered the Max and a long carbon fiber selfie stick and plan on shooting some 360 video when they arrive next week.
  11. Have to show you what my brother just bought. A replica 1955 Jaguar D Type. It's hidden but there is a passenger seat. The original is worth 3 - 4 million. He owned an XKE in the late sixties and always regretted selling it.
  12. I'm generatlly on the road back to VT by 1 or 2. Our first race is January 5th.
  13. She did last year but she got a new job and won't be able to race during the day.
  14. Signed up for the Wednesday Day Race League on Challenger again this year. I have to make two runs on skis and then will switch to my Kessler.
  15. I do draw faces (here's a sample) but I'd be embarrased to produce something like that.
  16. A simple explanation I should have figured out. Thanks. She made a herculean effort to get back on the course and finish strong.
  17. I'm going to show my ignorance. What is the yellow thing on Ester Ledecka's front binding? I don't think it was used during the race. She had an unfortunate fall at yesterday's Big Final race at Carezza and came in second.
  18. I've had pretty good luck with a triple suction cup like this one. Although if the board isn't perfectly smooth it won't stick.
  19. Living in Vermont. Taking a rest until Spring. The socks in the tailpipes contain mothballs to keep the critters out.
  20. I meant to post this earlier. Last summer I was attending an usher's meeting at the Weston Playhouse in Vermont and thought I'd picked a safe place to park my '99 Corvette. I watched an elderly (even older than me) woman pull in next to me. I yelled STOP as loud as I could and fortunately she heard me. One inch to spare. I calmly said, "Ma'am, please step out of the car and give me your keys". I was temped to ask for her license as well. I backed her car out and moved it well away from the Vette....
  21. On most Saturdays and Sundays I'll set one course with stubbies. It will be open from 10 to 2 each day. Best to check with me before coming over pmoore (at) snet.net as I sometimes have to set ski gates on both courses. It will be on the regular NASTAR trail Sitting Bull which is adjacent to the A Quad at the main base area.
  22. I was clocked at Davos at 55 mph (88 kph) on a Volkl 168 Renn Tiger but that photo looks insanely fast. What speeds do those guys reach?
  23. After taking a year off for COVID-19, Okemo will again offer Friday, Saturday, and Sunday NASTAR plus the Tuesday Innkeepers Race series. It'll be my 16th year as Pacesetter. On most weekends, I'll set one GS course with traditional ski gates and one with rubber stubbies for boarders. We'll likely kick off the season around New Years. Hope to see you folks.
  24. Thanks for the kind words!
