  1. No, but I do have shots of a head-to-head race for adults regardless of gender or equipment. This woman skier was closing fast but I beat her by only 0.13.
  2. Local temperature records have been kept for 134 years. 88 degrees yesterday was easily a record. It was a local golf course's opening day but I figured there was enough snow to extend the season by a day. The carbon fibre Goode 158 was up to the task.
  3. Just got back from Snowmass. For giggles I took my GoPro Max 360 with me on the podium. See result in Youtube video below. I took third in GS Skiing and 1st in GS snowboarding.
  4. I can't remember 59! This shot was taken last year. That's my child bride with me. She's only 70....
  5. Carrying my board yesterday I heard a guy yell, "Wow, a monster powder ski!"
  6. Did the Massachusetts Senior WInter Games there on the 8th. Not a perfect day but close....
  7. Maniac? Possibly. After reading my book recently, a guy asked me, "How is it you're still alive??"
  8. Wow! You really know that board. I'm heading out of the country shortly for a two week trip but will give it a try when I get back. Thanks for all the detailed info!
  9. Do you mean this bump? I would never have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it. Just out curiosity, when would the board have been made? Very cool to see the marketing brochure! Thanks.
  10. The bindings are definitely offset toward the heels. Very impressive though. I'm comfortable on skis on ice but don't have the confidence to really get a bite on the surface when on my board. Any suggestions would be welcome. I race in a leage on Wednesdays on skis and then switch to my Kessler. By the time I'm on the board, the course is usually icy and I skid way too much.
  11. Some of you might remember that I designed the webstore for suburbanskiandbike.com and ran their online sales for eight years before I retired in 2014. The owner stopped by yesterday and gave me this 155 cm Goode Carbon Fibre alpine board. It is incredibly light. I remember riding it one day about a dozen years ago. At the time it had proprietary bindings which have disappeared. Anyhow, it's got a good base and fresh tune and i'll try it again. Are any of you familiar with it? Goode is still in business and produces waterskis and ski poles. They did produce race skis but discontinued them after Dave Goode was killed in the crash of his twin engine Cessna.
  12. I'm sure you've heard this one. A lifty asked me, "Is that a skiboard?"
  13. My goal is to have 3 tries be the most frequent result. One of my daughters has accomplished it.
  14. Getting this review made my day: I laughed so hard reading this book that my dog would start barking at me. Well written Pat! What an incredible life of fun, adventure, family, and travel. I really liked the way you put your early life at the end of the book rather than at the beginning, you have a wonderful storytelling style in your writing. I can't even begin to mention highlights that got me going, there were too many...the turkey was a good one, and the dead hairy beast you were asleep on, I laughed and laughed. I took the book to bed with me last night to get it done which was not a good idea. Long after I finished it and offed the lights to go to sleep I was still laughing as I recalled your stories. I am an early-to-rise and early-to-bed person, your book kept me up late but it was worth it. Before I pass this book along to friends who I know will also love it. I need to make a few notes of things I want to research further like finding your friend singing that song...maybe on YouTube! I sure liked his lyrics! I have to say there must have been some skydiver in the New England area who had a teenager who watched them play Cardinal Puff. I learned that game when I was a senior at Nashua High School in New Hampshire, almost 3 decades before I became a skydiver. We played it in the cornfields or apple orchards sneaking around at night!
  15. Think eggs are pricey? The menu at Denny's now lists omelets at "market price".
  16. I haven't tried Quordle yet but will. It looks similar to Duotrigordle that I play every day. https://duotrigordle.com/
  17. The one I usually start with (and went 0 for 5 today) was SLICE
  18. That's the starting word my wife uses.
  19. Nope. Maybe Brad? I'll be there tomorrow. Black Kessler
  20. I'm there Wednesday mornings. I make two GS runs on skis for my league at the NASTAR course and then switch to my Kessler for two more. After that I make a couple of runs before heading home to Vermont.
  21. Corey - I checked out that Throttle House review of the Cobra and sent it to my little brother (he's only 72). Very entertaining! We bought the Vette at the beginning of the lockdown with the aim of visiting all 251 towns in Vermont. We've made a lot of progess. When we bought the car I asked the business manager if he'd take a personal check. He slammed it down on the desk, smiled, and said, "Didn't bounce!" We get some nice foliage here each October. Here's some footage I shot with my drone.
  22. The first of 2000+ jumps. After that first jump I quit skiing and moved to Florida. 34 years later I resumed skiing and saw a guy carving on a skinny snowboard at Okemo. It looked like he was wearing ski boots. I discovered the old Bomberonline website and then went out and bought a 1997 154 cm Hot Shine. I still have it. Skydiving, snowboarding and skiing (among a lifetime of other pursuits) have led to my philosophy that "If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room". https://amzn.to/3hB4I92
  23. If you scroll up you'll see the replica '55 Jaguar D-Type my brother bought last winter. It isn't the most practical vehicle when you live in Breckenridge. A guy from Scotland got in touch with him and said, "I HAVE to have that car!" So, my brother sold it to him and shipped it overseas. Last week he went out and bought another replica - a Shelby Cobra. He already had a couple of vintage Porsches. My collection consists of a single 1999 Corvette.
