Ah the joys of living on the Euro. Last year with the Pound it was good, but this year I think I will need to tone down a little as it is worth almost less than the New Zealand Peso it seems! As for cars, I book a lot of them for work and it seems the only way to truly get what you want is to talk to someone at the rental agency. Don't do it online because it is very vague and don't leave it to your travel agent, cos they will just do it online themselves and charge you a premium for the pleasure!

Considering I have ridden in North America for the last 6 seasons but lived in either Australia or the UK, I think that it is safe to say I couldn't possibly spend more on gear than I do on riding without single handedly bringing the world economy back from the brink of recession.

Willow, we didn't end up getting together to ride last year but I'd love to make some time this season. I have a week in the Italian Dolomites over NYE, possibly a few days in Courmayer in Jan, SES in Feb, but otherwise nothing else planned. If you want to organise a group, I'm in for sure!

Best thing I have done in ages was get my other half to SES and into hard boots. She had a ball. I'm sure yours will too.

I was planning not to go because I really HAVEN'T enjoyed the last 4 years at SES. Quite frankly they have been REALLY c##ppy weeks and I have TOTALLY wasted my holidays flying out for them. But Vanessa has convinced me to go again, because for some reason she liked all you guys and had fun! Who would have thought... Plans for NYC are looking pretty good. Can't remember the exact dates, but it is basically the first weekend of December. I can't wait. I need a holiday to get over my week in Dubai. Michelle, I'm just disappointed I didn't manage to get paid to go to Oktoberfest again this year!

How hard it is to get up early after a really late night out. I spent the last week in Dubai for work and there were 6 of us out there, so we basically hit the town every night, culminating in a HUGE one last night. I went to bed at 2:15am and had to be up at 5:15am to catch a plane. I'm REALLY feeling old today!

Yep, you got it. She went into work, despite being told by both of us to have the day off. She arrived and got told to go straight home! And now she has been sick for 2 weeks. The show was great fun. Great call by you!

Actually she is still sick. Might go back to work on Tuesday, but depends on how she pulls up tomorrow. I've managed to stay clear of it so far though, which is good news for me. Sorry if we were a bit boring while you were here. I was so knackered from Egypt I just could hardly keep my eyes open on Saturday night! Still, glad to hear you had a good time.

Somehow I think all the fun will be Vanessa's doing, because tomorrow morning I have to go to Egypt for work! I will be back on Friday night though, so Ais is going to watch Aussie Rules and drink beer with me on Saturday. Then who knows where the day/night will end up...

10-12 deg in November is no colder than we get at home in the middle of winter, facing the southern ocean! That's amazing. I have a friend living in Oslo, so that could be a good trip some time in the next few months if the other half doesn't spend all my money. BTW, congrats on the little one! Didn't even know you had one on the way.
