  1. Although like wine, some grapes are just from poor vintages or the vines they grew on were no good in the first place, so no amount of stomping is going to produce a worthy product. Sorry, I didn't really need to post here, just that the thread was last on the page, and I didn't want to see it fall off page 1.....
  2. Did you walk around with that freestyle board strapped to your back all day for the street cred or because you've finally admitted that it's the future of snowboardom???
  3. but why is this is te OT forum? Dave I think this is a perfect On-Topic thread. Good form.
  4. Thanks Ais. Mail me through the board and I'll send you our Oz details.
  5. Hi guys, sorry for the late reply. I'm not able to make it to SES this year, so I've pointedly avoided this forum so not to get too jealous and/or sad. Also we're no longer in the UK - moved back to Oz in August due to a new addition to the family who arrived at the start of November. Still, better late than never I guess. I always flew United and, despite what many here might proclaim otherwise, never had any trouble. My gear goes in a Burton 185 padded bag, though this is starting to get pretty beaten up after 7 or 8 years of global travel. However the best arrangement I ever managed was with Michelle, where she shipped my gear home to save having to cart it (literally) around the world after the session. Sending it to Bomber on the way there just saves so many hassles it is worth the cost, and saves on potential excess baggage issues. As for getting there and back, obviously fly to Denver, but whether you go direct with BA or via Washington or Chicago is probably just a preference thing (although Chicago does have a greater risk of weather issues, which we almost found to our cost one year). Personally I don't bother with the flight from Denver to Aspen anymore. Just not worth the money or the risk that they won't be able to land and you'll have to go via ground transport anyway. For the cost of one ticket, you can hire a small SUV for a week, and although you won't need it during the SES itself, it's great for flexibility at the start and end of your stay. If you really want to save a little more, just do two separate one ways and pick up / drop off at Aspen airport. Hope you have an enjoyable week and maybe we'll meet there in future years. Cheers Dan
  6. Best wishes and speedy recovery Kimo. Thinking of you. Dan, Vanessa & Olivia
  7. She got Post #3000 - I got Reply #3000 Give me something, at least.....please???
  8. And she was pregnant at the time! So I missed Page 100, but I got Reply #3000!!!!! :biggthump:biggthump
  9. Angie you ARE some man's prize. He just doesn't realise he's entered in the game yet. Who cares though? The grass always looks greener on the other side, but at least you're living the dream in the meantime.....and we're all jealous.
  10. Yep, and she snowboards too! In hardboots!!!!:1luvu:
  11. Written language is a very tricky thing. We all take for granted the different tones of voice we can adopt but forget that how it sounds in our head when we write it might not be how it comes out at the other end when someone else reads it. Especially with different cultures and their different expectations of their use of the English language.
  12. Not sure if this is telling you girls something, but Vanessa does mine too and I love her for it (although she refuses to do ironing, so maybe that's her idea of a compromise)
  13. Yep, on November 6th. Olivia Claire Hayden, weighing in at 7lb 13oz. But she's grown a lot since then and is a bit of an over achiever - so hopefully we'll have her on the slopes next winter!
  14. Hmmmm, I think Hit Girl is just a bit too weird for me. I just don't think I can get my head around it
  15. Nah, do it. It's all good. Especially if you are planning to move, it's really good because it is something you can do and go through together. That's what Vanessa and I found when we moved to London straight after getting married. Kids.....well that's another story entirely!
  16. I really don't have anything useful to add here, since I've been out of the dating pool for 10 years now. I'd be out on parole now if I'd just bumped her off in the first place, not stuck with a mortgage and wife and kid......it's OK girls, you know I'm only joking. I just wanted to see if my post might be the first on page 100!!! EDIT: Damn, it wasn't.
  17. Yeah I was going to suggest Mats from Alpinepunk too. He's got a really surfy style and his boards are designed for just that.
  18. Can we get a spoiler, shiny mag spinners and a sub-woofer too???:p
  19. I have to concur. I've spent countless hours looking for the best itinerary for my annual trips and haven't been able to find anything that comes even remotely close. But, if you can't make the dates of SES, Aspen is still a pretty great place. Plenty of variety, 4 different hills to choose from and good options if the weather comes in.
  20. Happy birthday special lady:ices_ange
  21. Well, finally on Friday at 12:51pm AEDT Vanessa popped and we were delivered a healthy, happy baby girl, weighing in at 3.55kg (7lb 13oz for those in the US). Welcome to Bomber Olivia Claire Hayden. Note: she already has that "down the fall line" stare happening!
  22. Not sure how much this will help, but... Last season when I was living in London I flew to Italy a couple of times and Switzerland with boards. I have a 185 Burton bag which seems to do the job (although it's now done a hell of a lot of air miles and it looking rather tatty) as long as the boards are padded. Each time I flew with British Airways as they had a policy where skis/snowboards flew free. That was a BIG incentive to fly with them!
  23. I'm in the same boat. I've done 5 in a row, but can't do this year because of baby duty (and unfortunately now back earning Aussie dollars rather than British Pounds). So Ken, if the real reason is that you are scared of the Ribs Challenge, you are free to go cos I won't be there to humble you!
  24. That is awesome! Made me laugh, a lot. Congrats Justin.
