  1. This could get weeeeiiiirrrrrrdddddddd.......
  2. Never heard of them, but that doesn't mean anything. Sorry, I also forgot about the $100 question. I just got told by a friend who worked in quarantine and customs here that you should call everything used personal equipment and less than $100 because then they are less likely to bother inspecting it. If they do, you get charged inspection fees, plus it delays delivery. Also if you claim it is new and/or worth considerably more, you may get import duties imposed.
  3. That's really ridiculous. But I have no other suggestion really. Unless you could find someone to bring it over as luggage, but that's not likely to be a realistic option, I know.
  4. Good call on the Donek. Sorry I'll miss you next weekend. We're up again on the 14th-16th. Then I'll try and do another 3 day stint at some stage. Send me mail and we can try to catch up for some turns and/or beers.
  5. I've only ever shipped the other way, but I think they all came USPS/AustPost and arrived just fine. The key is to declare them as used personal equipment, value less than $100, and make sure they are super well packed.
  6. I realise it's probably a scam, but just for future reference for all you Americans....the US Embassy in London is in Grosvenor Square. :)
  7. Congrats, mate. I'm really glad you had an amazing night. It's something you'll remember for a long time. Enjoy the Bahamas!
  8. Hey Joel, I'm planning to be up at Hotham in 3 weeks for a boys weekend. Probably not a lot of riding, unless it really dumps early, but you never know. I'd be happy to bring up a couple of my Priors (169 4WD, 167 WCR Metal, 165 WCR) for you to take a run or two on and check them out. Otherwise I'd definately recommend talking to Sean at Donek. He's a great guy and will really help you find what you need. And if he can do shipping that cheap, with the AUD so srong against the USD, now is a great time to be buying from the US. Will be great to see a patroller on HB's - in fact it will be great to see ANYONE else on HB's in Oz!!! Drop me an email through the board and we'll try to catch up. Dan
  9. I think I once gave you very similar advice. I'm definately eloping next time...;) All you need is Vegas, an open top limo and an Elvis impersonator. Job done.
  10. Ah clipless pedals are the answer! But I'm hearing you about the scars...
  11. I've seen photos of Fin in the hot tub and the only tan he has comes from the moon!
  12. I do love that. Could probably watch it all day. And it's Riceball in the red, too!
  13. Hey I could actually be keen for this. Assuming I sell my house, I'll have some cash and need a holiday. NZ has been mentioned by a few mates, plus it's really affordable from Oz at the moment. So definately keep me posted (can be contacted through the board). Cheers Dan
  14. Amen to that. I'm now thinking how I can rig one of those up and how soon before I can get my 4 1/2 month old out riding with me.
  15. Not a single f'ing chance. Our system isn't perfect, but it's light years ahead of most of the world.
  16. Yeah I went once - on the one day of the week that it's closed! Bummer!
  17. Seriously there is only one way to start. Get a soft board and maybe a couple of lessons. The best softboards on the market are G Boards (they also make the jet ski sleds for most of the serious tow in guys, designed by Ross Clarke-Jones). Check out and see if you can find one in your part of the world. You won't be on that for too long, but it will get you up to speed so much faster than trying to get on a fibreglass board, so you'll enjoy the improvement and enjoy your time in the water much more as you are starting out. Oh yeah, did I mention lessons?
  18. Isn't that an oxymoron??? But seriously, good luck Tex. Huge step, but you'll be so much happier with life if you enjoy what you do.
  19. I've been in the Mercedes R&D factory. No photos allowed and unfortunately they weren't making anything cool like that.
  20. I guess we are an island, so for the sake of consistency I'll vote the same
  21. Totally OT, I know (sorry guys). I live just down the road from the house they used as Max's home. And driven on all the roads they shot the highway scenes on.
  22. Hey, where's Oceania (Aust/NZ)? I can't answer otherwise....
  23. Gee thanks. You just go and remind me why I couldn't go to SES (for the first time in 6 years) this season. And I thought you were my friend!:p
  24. By the way, I love the avatar. Classic XB Falcon Interceptor. I's making me think it would be a good layup on a new board....
  25. This might make the thread obsolete. Cos you know they say there are only three sure things in life: death, taxes and NURSES!!! Seriously though, huge congrats! Well done:biggthump
