  1. Looks like geek... Sounds like geek... Ergo, is geek???
  2. I'm closer than you are, and I'll be in Europe next week. Want me to pick it up and test it out for you? I can drop it off at SES...
  3. Pat, it might be worth having a chat to Chris Prior. I bought a board from him a few years ago which was a 169 cm (67 in) and it didn't cost me anywhere near that amount in freight. From memory it was only about $120 AUD, at a time when the AUD was trading at around $0.60 to the USD. $350 sounds utterly ridiculous.
  4. Well then surely SOMEBODY on BOL has to meet your criteria....
  5. Billy, after your mishap last season, I hope it is not snow kiting you are doing!!!
  6. Yeah it's been great. Believe it or not, I actually get paid to go travelling, so I have been doing a fair bit. Mostly in Germany, but I have a feeling that I have to go to Austria and Spain in the next month. But together, we have been up to Denmark and did Berlin last weekend which was awesome.
  7. Why do you need to feel better about yourself??? You are awesome just the way you are. If I was only single and living in North America.....
  8. There is no need to put people up on a pedestal, but there is also nothing wrong with them knowing that you expect the best from them. Mind you, that requires that you give your best too, and you should be prepared for disappointment, but the feeling of knowing that someone is giving you the best they have far outweighs even the combined feeling of many who don't live up to those levels.
  9. Or, you just can't beat it when you are getting screwed....
  10. Well that is better than thinking that you shouldn't feel bad but doing it all the same. He just needs to realise that it's time to move on.
  11. Who says I'm no fun? Just because I'm married doesn't mean that I'm boring! This is my occasional rugby team. Very much a scratch team but a hell of a lot of fun. http://shawcup.localhero.biz/
  12. What part of Germany did you live in? I am doing lots of work over there at the moment and spending a couple of days a week in the country. Very interesting place. I like it (but hate airports - travelling lots for work is not all it's cracked up to be).
  13. Didn't I tell you girls that I play rugby?!?!?!
  14. Yep, I am working. I actually had a job pretty much lined up before I came, so I started within about 10 days of landing. I am working for a company called CB Richard Ellis which is a very large international property firm. I am working in the Valuations department doing International Valuations, that is, anything where UK based money is buying commercial property overseas. Mostly we are in Germany and some of the emerging European markets. It's a lot of travelling, but it is good so far. We are living in Putney and actually only in a flat with just the two of us. I know, it's pretty amazing that we don't have 15 flatmates, because everyone else seems to. So hopefully it will be fun. We are planning on staying for 2 years or so, so it had better be fun!!!
  15. That's right, I'm back, but on the entire other side of the world! You know that I got married a month or so ago and all is going well, but we also moved to London. So I'm now living and working in the UK as a means to a number of ends (one of which is affording to go to SES08 with my wife in tow). So it's been probably at least two months since I had a good look here. Anyone want to fill me in?
  16. Wow, looks like I've missed plenty in the last week or so of organising and stressing about a wedding. Very sorry to hear that Allee. So for those who want happy relationship news, and for those who didn't know, I got married on the weekend. Aisling, does this mean I am off the thread???
  17. Yep, it was real. Even have the pictures to prove it!
  18. I agree, particularly with dancing, if you can't do it properly, don't embarass yourself by doing it at all. That's why for my wedding I am trying to find an independent contractor who is prepared o do the dancing in my place!!!
  19. Wow, I should have partied like mine was #1999
  20. NO WAY!!! Thread jacking is absolutely NOT allowed on the waaaaaaay OT thread!
  21. I like my beer un-shaken, thank you very much!
  22. Man, I'm about to get married and if I had thought for a second that she would willingly keep me in the lifestyle to which I deserve to become accustomed, this would have happened years ago. I'd love to be a stay-at-home-dad and all that. Beats the hell out of working for a living and means you get to see your kids grow up.
  23. The Virus scared the hell out of me. But probably going from a 9.5m sidecut 4WD onto a (to quote Frank) "oh only small, about 16 meters" sidecut 173cm Virus wasn't the best idea. The thing rails though when you get it to turn. I rode both the 173 and 183 Prior metals. Simply awesome! Steph is dead right. They just run through anything and you just don't feel it like you do on the standard WCR even. I want one. No, I want TEN!
