  1. I get a few of those kind of comments, but since there are not too many on a noodle that can ride as fast as me (95kg + helps a bit with momentum) they don't bother me too much. And besides, the guys I ride with have a chuckle but secretly think it is cool to be able to lay down a big arc. I'm a Hotham fan myself too (except this year when I bought a season pass - bad move). Buller is just an easy day trip from here. But Falls is definately the better carving mountain in Vic. Back on topic.... How about "Hard, excited and always ready to ride"
  2. How about: "I find the only way to look better than I really am is to hang out with soft booters!"
  3. NICE!!! I want one! Cos at Mt Buller, I Do get stupid comments!
  4. It's alive! It's ALIIIIIVVVVEEEEE!!!!!
  5. Ooooohhhhhhhhh. Everyone together now....Oooooooohhhhhhhhhhh. That is so sweet. :o :o :o :o :o
  6. This year I have bought: Prior WCR 161 (at SES 06) New Subaru Outback (awesome car, highly recommend) New kayak paddles x 3 New road bike New mountain bike Season Pass to Mt Hotham / Falls Creek (in the worst snow season on record - I did 5 days and needed to do 9 to make it pay - don't recommend at all) New ticket to USA for 9 Feb 07 to 17 Feb 07 I refrained from buying (yet): New kayak @ $2500 New surf ski @ $2800 New ocean racing ski @ $3500 Additional days in USA New snowboards (but wait til I get riding again) I have de-listed: 1 x Subaru Forester 1 x mountain bike 1 x kayak paddle If I buy any more toys I think my marraige will be over before it even begins!
  7. Sorry to disappoint. My mail is that they are real (and this coming from guys who would know)! OK, I'll give you this much. There is probably a fair amount of airbrushing going on in some of the pics.
  8. This girl is for real. http://www.erinnormoyle.com/ Just another reason to visit Oz, this time for the boys.
  9. Her thought process appears to be going something like: "I don't get it. You said to stick the end in, squeeze the hose and I'd have thomething I could ride hard and fast all day. But where is he?"
  10. I told you about 10,000 views ago that you gotta come visit Oz. I'm sure I have at least one friend who would meet your requirements!
  11. Or at very least, do something active. You know, snowboard, surf, ride, paddle, climb, hike, whatever. Beats the hell out of the "too-thin wish I was a model but i'm not quite up my own a** enough just yet to be one" types that you see in most clubs in the city.
  12. It would be just my luck that this WOULD happen to me!!!
  13. Jumping out of a plane with an alpine board strapped on!!! Go Apo IV!!!
  14. Haven't booked flights or accom yet, but I'm telling everyone over here that I'm coming. I think I can probably convince at least one other mate to tag along (sorry Michelle, he's not single) and Aussie Adam might even be a starter again with some more motivation (sorry Michelle, he's not single anymore either). Fin, I'm still working on the ladies for you! Gleb, if you are looking to do it on a student's budget, St Moritz Hostel is the way to go. As regards cars, I will probably fly to Denver and hire a car for the week, cos I just don't trust planes into Aspen. If things line up I'm happy to give you a ride. Let you know.
  15. I agree about the 661 vs Dianese. I have a 661 suit (upper body inc. shoulder, elbow, back, chest, lumbar) which is great, except that I already fill my jacket out enough that wearing the thing makes me look like a fully kitted linebacker! I have a pair of Dianese pants with knee pads in them which are pretty awesome. They also keep you warmer when kneeling in the snow. And finally, Fox are producing a MotoX knee brace for this season under the name PodMX. I used the final production prototypes a couple of weeks ago up at the snow, and for anyone with knee issues they are amazing. And for those just looking for protection, they are pretty damned good for that too, being made of full carbon fibre and designed for protection in high speed collisions when riding trail bikes.
  16. Yeah I have had the same problem a couple of times now with my back foot coming out. Very VERY scary scenario. It happens especially when there is icy and/or man made snow, I've found. When I go to SES this year I am going to get a stepin for the back boot/binding but probably keep the standard on the front. This will be as much for convenience as safety though, cos I'm inflexible and lazy.
  17. It is something of an Aussie mark of respect that within an hour of his death there were jokes circulating: (NOTE: IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE OFFENDED BY AUSSIE SELF DEPRECIATING HUMOR, READ NO FURTHER) There is a product recall being issued on Steve Irwin brand sunscreen. Apparently it doesn't keep out the harmful rays! Steve Irwin's family has declined the offer of a State Funeral, however they have booked Sting to play at the wake! Sorry if these offend. Personally I think he was fantastic and his attitude and enthusiasm will be sorely missed.
  18. hahaha    I did think it a bit strange when Michelle pointed that out to me when I visited the Bomber factory, but hey, if it works.... Oh Vegemite is awesome. One of the greatest hangover remedies known to man. Hot white bread toast with lots of butter and vegemite. Mmmmm, yum. It definately is an acquired taste, but it's also damned funny watching Americans smear it on their toast like it is peanut butter. No Aussie eats it that thick!
  19. You just can't go past the good old Aussie meat pie. Mmmmmmm. Mmmmm, yum! The Great Aussie Meat Pie Recipie
  20. Excuse my ignorance, but WTF are perogies?!?!?!
  21.       @ skipuppy. That is hillarious. My PA and I are cacking ourselves at that one. Where do we buy them????
  22. Well I have discovered a minor problem. Bad news: I haven't actually lost any more weight since last report. Good news: Working in the gym is actually putting on muscle again and toning up, so I am looking a lot better. It's a good start so far. Oh, and eating less is cool too. My stomach must have shrunk because it is now two days in a row that I couldn't finish my dinner, and that is saying something.
  23. OK, I think my mum ("mom" to all you Americans) is sorted, subject to Vanessa and I finalising a venue for lunch. What a drama. I had to tell her point blank that there is nothing I would less rather do than have a full sit down reception for 150 people and if it comes down to culling numbers back to about the 60-70 that we want, the first people to go will be her's and dad's brothers and sisters. We want the people that we "want to invite", not the people that we "have to invite". But we thrashed through it and I think she understands where we are coming from now. Besides, we are going to have a big celebration at night anyway and invite everybody so nobody gets completely offended (anyone want to drop in????). Oh and speaking of buying a house being less stressful than planning a wedding, the whole wedding thing must have made me so stressed that I am seriously looking at buying another house!
