  1. Don't worry, the boys have convinced me that I will now need the support of the thread more than ever. And a promise is a promise, but you have to come down here first!
  2. Thanks guys. Haven't set a date yet but she is angling for late Feb or March. If that happens, SES has been locked in as a week long bucks bash. Me, I'm pushing for late November but we will just have to wait and see. And either way, I promise to post a photo of me looking uncomfortable in a suit.
  3. Is the big step getting engaged or committing to no more posting on this thread????
  4. This could very well be my last post in this thread. I don't think I am allowed to post here anymore. Apparently my love life will be blissful from now until eternity because on the weekend I finally (after 6 years) got engaged.
  5. Yeah the sooner we can lock these dates in the better for me, coming from the other side of the world.
  6. Gleb, I think she has the answer right there pal.
  7. You are just reiterating why drinking in Australia is better than the US. Our domestic bulk beers are damned good (VB, Carlton Draught, Boags, Cascade) and our legal drinking age is 18 (though I am still not sure of the wisdom of giving someone their drivers license and right to drink alcohol at the same time, but hey...)
  8. Yeah, and down here, with fuel at $1.40 a litre, beer is definately cheaper!
  9. Hey, don't knock boarding school. I'm an unscarred p-p-p-product of b-b-b-boarding school.
  10. That was the site I was thinking of. We almost bought some last year but couldn't confirm the shipping.
  11. Ah the Wine Cask. One of Australia's greatest inventions!!! Almost makes me weep....
  12. I won't get into the right side / wrong side of the road debate (because I know I am right, but there are just too many of you). But as for the wine, NZ has some amazing cold climate whites. I think I have a few, but I can't really be sure.
  13. I have just discovered an online wine auction site and gone a bit mental. I am amassing quite a collection. I think I need Jim to come and sort it for me some time because I am getting to the stage of needing to know what is worth keeping and what I should just drink. But nonetheless, I love it.
  14. Hey Michelle, don't lump us all in the same basket. I came good with my promise to bring good looking guys to SES. Maybe you have been working with Fin too long and some of his lack of ability with the opposite sex has rubbed off..... (Fin, please don't kick me off the board for trying to get some cheap laughs :o )
  15. Assuming I can get a leave pass in the months before moving to the UK for a couple of years, I am in.
  16. Hey all, This is a musician who I most highly recommend. Pretty cruisy kind of music (so if you prefer heavy thrash kinda stuff, read no further) but an amazingly, freakily talented musician and lyricist. Since he is in the USA I implore you all to see him if you possibly can. Gleb, he is playing in Boston. Ken, he is playing in CA. Michelle, he is playing in Boulder. As for everyone else, I don't know where you all live or how the venues compare but make the effort. You will be glad you did. 17. Ken, I will be on on that one. I suggest the Hickory House ribs as the venue / challenge.
  18. Yeah I am a true convert. He is hilarious. And yes, that is the book. Any book that has me laughing out loud is bloody good.
  19. For all you people looking for the other side of the coin on relationships, and at the same time needing a really good belly laugh, get hold of a book by Ben Elton called "Inconceivable". I am 3/4 of the way through it now and I am pissing myself laughing almost constantly. Just like this thread.
  20. Notice in the first photo, everyone is staring straight out to sea? That is because on that day, it WAS THAT BIG! I took the biggest beating I have ever had on the way back in. A 6-7ft closeout landed right on my head.
  21. There is a pretty fair contingent of paddlers over here, probably because of our surf life saving involvement and the big marathon kayak regattas. But it is rare for people to do all of sprint, marathon and surf paddling. Personally I am more towards surf (much more fun), then sprint, and marathons only under sufferance. And if you look at these pics you will see that it is not only snowboarders that hoard good, expensive equipment.
  22. Ditto that. If only I was around 60lbs lighter.... But welcome anyway. :)
