  1. SOLD... 2007 model that have never seen snow: $300 plus shipping. These were a warranty replacement that I ended up never using. Liners were never molded. All original parts: extra tongues and toe/heel pads. As an extra bonus, t-nuts installed for Intec heels (no, heels are *not* included). and, yes, I checked with Fin before posting this...
  2. LOL - Fabulous! Thanks much for the chuckle.! Naw, not a whole lot of directed conditioning in the summer - a lot more running, a wee bit o' bike work, and a whole lot of the brewers art...
  3. Snow? What's that? We have the best blown ice here in the Mid-Atlantic! Burton - I love how they spam your email address. Never, give them your address... Carve on
  4. Yep, 2003 -- I have the same board which was listed as a "clear" topsheet when I purchased it from Bomber...
  5. Hit the 'Loaf on New Years day with the family and had epic conditions the rest of the week. Thanks Eric for all your help. Weather for MAC Tracks was the pits, but lots of fun with the local crew - thanks to Phil for organizing another great one! Trip to Quebec (Le Massif/Mont Grand-Fonds) was a bust: 40 degress and rain day of our arrival with the typical -20 that evening... Suprised they could groom the resulting granite. Add to that the boss (She Who Must Be Obeyed) was down with the flu and didn't come while the offspring yard sale'd and tweaked her knee on the 3rd day ending her season. Lot's of quality bonding time with the daughter so all was not lost! Weather at Stowe for ECES sucked but the crew was awsome! Thanks again Jack and Geoff!!! Got a total of 4 days on my season pass to the local bumps due to work and general sucky weather here in the mid-atlantic -- those were some *very* expensive runs...
  6. Then back to the condo, trying *real* hard not to laugh (grin). After that kind of smack down, it's time for the salmon dinner -- no, NOT the salmon mousse. I cook, I clean, and do they appreciate it? Tuning, waxing, binding placement, toe lift, heel lift, outward cant, inward cant, do you want to buy this board for $200, would you like another Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, what's with the Wax Wizard??? Fabulous first day! The quads are shot, and tomorrow... No, let's not go there -- too much technobabble... Only 10.5 hours for this trip - a wee bit closer that the Loaf, but I do REALLY like the Loaf. Great times, wish you were, stay tuned... Same Bat Channel, same Bat Time... Right Said Shred...
  7. Geoff, don't feel *too* bad... I have sun glasses older than that ;) The suit is great! ECES - 2 days, 12 hours, 52 minutes!!!!
  8. WOMAN: Well, 'ow did you become king then? ARTHUR: The Lady of the Lake, [angels sing] her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. [singing stops] That is why I am your king! DENNIS: Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. ARTHUR: Be quiet! DENNIS: Well you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you! ARTHUR: Shut up! DENNIS: I mean, if I went around sayin' I was an empereror just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away! ARTHUR: Shut up! Will you shut up! DENNIS: Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system. ARTHUR: Shut up! DENNIS: Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! HELP! HELP! I'm being repressed! ARTHUR: Bloody peasant! DENNIS: Oh, what a give away. Did you here that, did you here that, eh? That's what I'm on about -- did you see him repressing me, you saw it didn't you?
  9. The problem with the stock "nuts" on the Heads is that over time they loosen up and then start spinning. You can't tighten the screws and and you can loosen them either -- a major PITA! There's a picture of the "nuts" in the Head section here. 1) Take the stock heels off 2) Thread an old screw partway in from the heel (outside) side 3) Use a hammer and hit the screw head to pound the nuts out -- do not reuse the screw after you're done wailing on it 4) Remove original nuts 5) Seat the T-nuts (supplied with Intec heels) with a dowel/piece of wood and a rubber mallet/hammer -- make sure the teeth of the T-nuts are fully seated 6) Use screws supplied with Intec heels and tighten securely -- BTW the screws are actually pozidriv, so you should be using a pozidriv screwdriver (see Pozidriv section here) There should be *NO* play between the heel and boot.
  10. Sniff... My keyboard's getting wet. Very cute stories --Love the pictures of the young shredder! Surfer as a kid. Skiing never worked for me. Didn't start boarding until I was in my 40s - so I subscribe to the learn old and ride until you're on the wrong side of the grass. Started my daughter skiing at 7 'cause that's what Mama did. Her friends would say "You should snowboard. It's cool!" to which she would reply "My Dad snowboards, how cool can it be?" Now she's 16 and can't really be bothered with skiing. Guess it's part of that adolescence thing (sigh)
  11. Banged up a couple of ribs going "over the handlebars" and landing on my "Nogomer" wrist guard. Nothing definative showed up on the x-rays, but it was 6 weeks before I could take a deep breath without twinging. About 50 at the time... YMMV
  12. This totally bites! Love the topsheet on the Piror - those groovy flowers have Michelle written all over 'em (grin) Good vibes your way and "you should be ashamed, what would your mother say, and you are *not* a nice person" vibes to the thieves... Very kewel that you got a replacement for the Unity -- lots of good karma there!
  13. Last day -- have to head home at o'dark thirty tomorrow morning (boohoo)... Cracked the whip on the family units and had them in line for the Super Quad at 8:15 -- unfortunately they shut it down after loading about 10 chairs and it was out of commission *ALL* day. Conditions were fantastic even with the crowds and lift lines. Last "Perfect Turns" session with Erik with some nice breakthroughs -- THANKS AGAIN, ERIK!!! Going to be real hard going back to my local bump after this most excellent vacation! Carve on!
  14. The groomers did a fantastic job last night. The snow conditions were utterly fantastic!!!!! More excellent knowledge transfer from Erik -- "She who must be obeyed" even got a little dose... Along with some componentry adjustments *grin*, it was a perfect day! Thanks to the 'Loaf staff and Erik for a fabulous visit. Last day tomorrow, which will be my first weekend visit at the resort -- local intelligence is just like home, show up early and then call it quits when the hoards descend... Carve on!!!
  15. Only took 13.5 hours to get here -- rain in NJ, snow/rain in MA, and then lot's of snow north of Portland. Geesh, Rt 27 gets *really* dark after sundown and the snow is coming down! Conditions this morning were phenomenal!!!!!! Gorgeous powder conditions - something we *never* get in the mid-Atlantic. Definitely illustrated some of my sub-optimal riding execution -- a huge thanks to Erik, who provided an excellent knowledge transfer this morning. Having just a wonderful time introducing my family units to the 'Loaf -- this is my 4th trip, but I've always been by myself (ECES '04, '06', and a "have to go riding" last January). Tomorrow calls for some wonderful January weather in Maine - highs in the single digits with wind... Carve on!!!
  16. Heading to the The Loaf with the family - we don't have any snow down my way:angryfire I'll be the old fart on a blue FC1...
  17. Titanium screw in the head of my radius (elbow end) in of my 2st season snowboarding - still riding 8 years later. I do worry about breaking things, but that's just me being an old fart... My friends think I'm crazy of course. Hippo Holidays to everyone BTW!
  18. I liken carving to small sailboat racing: If you don't turn over, you're not really trying! I wipe out all the time!!! Of, course I really suck too, but there's always a huge grin on my face...
  19. Not a lot of fun -- Like trying to carve a Slurpee...
  20. Yep... Just call me Mr. Stupid - freezing rain, my favorite...
  21. Looking like WT might be able to recover by Sunday with a little help from Mother Nature... I'll be there for 1st chair, howzaboutyou?
  22. Just got my new 700Ts -- sweet! The nut inserts for the Intec heels look suspicously like the flawed design of the Head Stratos Pro. Anyone know if those things are just threaded sleeves or what? Do you have to replace them with t-nuts???
  23. Great videos -- I love the "Big mountain skills or hospital bills..."
  24. I use an old bed sheet to catch the scrappings - and the drips of hot wax. It doesn't get slippery like plastic sheeting...
  25. Yep, anyone in the mid-Atlantic ice-coast area should attend. Phil does a fab job of organizing... Mucho fun!!!
