  1. I've been tied up with a new job this year so free time is scarce, but my family is headed over next week for a couple of days (Thursday/Friday). I'd love to connect if anyone will be around. 'Bruin
  2. I'm weary of logging in to see no movement on this thread. That is all.
  3. I think you'd see parts requests even if the store was open. I've bought many parts on the classifieds: cant plates, disks, bails, and BTS springs to name some off the top of my head. I do hope that Fin gets control soon and can salvage some of the Northern riding season - the best conditions are yet to come!
  4. This was a big change in plate binding performance.
  5. I tend to prefer the non-permanent adjustments first. I probably have enough washers in a drawer. YMMV.
  6. I would have started with removing the lower nut - it's clear you won't be cranking on that anyway and a properly sized washer stack could accomplish your needed range of movement.
  7. I used different springs top and bottom with preload to get the lean angles I wanted.
  8. BTS is very easy to install: push out the two pins and drop it in. The adjustment takes time to get right: Spring rate, preload, and lean are all adjustable so some tweaking is inevitable. I ended up trying a few different spring rates for toe/heel flex before I settled on what works for me - I am using different rates for each.
  9. The 700's are a decent boot. Mine are a few years old and came with a moldable liner. I wish the heel hold was better, but otherwise the fit was good. I had to use spacers to take up some volume for my flat, skinny feet. The BTS should be required - it improved the boots 100%. I trust that once things are sorted at Bomber the BTS will return as a new option. Post up a wanted ad and see what happens.
  10. I always have one in my bag in case some lift op or patroller has a bad day. I've (knock on wood) never had to get it out.
  11. Any updates on the bankruptcy? did the paperwork get filed "in time"? If not is the receivership happening? Inquiring minds want to know.
  12. I will be shocked if TD3's become no longer available. Finn knows what he's got and I have no doubts that he will find a way to keep the product alive. I trust he will find the right fit; perhaps one of the other manufacturers would be interested in supporting a quality line? Staying tuned to the process for updates.
  13. I used to work at the Ski Hut in Duluth and they are great guys, but they don't understand carving boards. I wouldn't be excited about handing any of my boards to anyone who doesn't have practice with carving setups. I'd ship it somewhere if I needed a grind.
  14. I agree. I usually end up riding with a former ski racer friend; we have a lot of fun making trenches together. I'm not good at keeping the speed down - most folks think I'm bored waiting for them at the bottom (they are wrong - I'm changing my tunes).
  15. I've been hardboot carving for 25 years and can't think of one convert I've made. It't not for lack of trying. I'm happy to share the lift with anyone and answer all the good and dumb questions they can throw at me. I keep cards with me and generously share them too. I'm less worried about the hill becoming crowded with carvers and more concerned about keeping the few places I can buy gear open. That would really suck.
  16. I was there on Saturday and while the fog was thick at times the snow wasn't awful. I brought my Metal Ax and carved from 11-6 without waiting for a lift once. I was wet, but warm enough. My quads are still recovering as it was my first time out this season. The day ended on a very sour note however: As I often do after a long day (I leave home at 6AM to get there and return the same night around 1 AM with my group) I went to the bar for some hot grub prior to departure. While waiting for my chicken to come up there was a musician playing loudly and the encores kept coming; he did play a decent version of Poncho and Lefty. A friend and I were frustrated with the volume because we were trying to have a conversation - I had chosen to sit at the far end of the room to avoid this issue. At one point an intoxicated patron of the bar, and clearly a Spirit Mountain employee, joined the performer on stage and demanded that everyone (less than a dozen total on that night) in the bar clap. My friend and I were busy eating and had already clapped several times so we kept eating. At this point the drunk called us out and threatened to come over and beat us up if we didn't clap. He continued by adding that he was willing to take it outside if necessary. I'm 6'4" and my friend isn't small either so neither one of us is afraid of a drunk; but we were in shock that this was happening and nobody did anything to stop him. Shortly after this same drunk accosted an underage member of my group in very inappropriate ways, but walked away when he realized he was hitting on a high school girl; she was very freaked out, but I assured her I had watched the whole thing and had her back. Why would management allow anyone to have an open mic in the bar? Why didn’t the bar tender or other managers who saw what was going on stop him? I have been a patron of Spirit Mountain for 30 years. I have personally spent thousands on lift tickets and season passes over those years. My groups have brought tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of new skiers and snowboarders to them. This incident and the lack of response from the sober employees that witnessed these incidents that night have me questioning if I will ever return. Giant’s Ridge has moved up on my list.
  17. Bindings sold. I'm willing to trade board for my first ever board: Burton M6 Goofy - Must be the first year with the 5 hole pattern. I know it's the proverbial needle in a haystack. No other trades considered.
  18. Still available. I put Burton Plates and a cant on it for another member who bailed on it last minute. It's still in the box and can be out tomorrow. $100 to your door?
  19. $50 US plus shipping. I'm guessing $10-15. Shoot me a postal code and I can plug it in. I'll throw in a Burton Cant plate too. Shoot me a PM.
  20. Bindings are 18+ years old but were part of a quiver so not every day on this board. They have been loved but I can't be more specific about their usage. The adjustment for boot length is tool-free. Not more, just easy.
  21. Last bump. If you want/need Burton bindings I'm happy to sell a pair (see my other FP for sale).
  22. One more bump. Burton bindings anyone? These are the rental/demo version that is easy on the hill adjustability for boot length.
