  1. Lee, Bummer, and it looks like the lower buckle has a little crack starting in the same place as the broken one. Check it too. :) Repeated flexing back and forth will weaken the metal. I would think that you could salvage some off old ski boots for a quick repair. Ink
  2. I had the DC Allegiance and thought they were stiff till I rode in them. Their design allows a smoother "hinge" point which makes them softer when in use. I switched to Malamutes and am much happier. I haven't tried the Driver-X but here that they too are stiff. It seems that Malamutes and Driver-X are the top choices here on the board. I don't know if you will find anything as stiff as a soft pair of hard boots. Like you said they are two different animals which cannot be compared easily. Deluxe made a stiff boot but sadly it is out of production. Ink
  3. You are probably right in the photo being training. The vid shows the same board when Ross gets off at the finish so the one that the seller is trying to claim as the Gold Medal winner would be incorrect. Ink

That is the plan. I think we are staying in/around Glenwood on Thursday night so we won't meet up wichya till the AM on Friday. Ink
  7. If you look at the vid from the link I posted it shows the board that is in the pic that Tex posted. It was a dark green F2 that Ross raced in the Olympics. In September '98 I had the opportunity to train at Mt Hood with Coach Karl Michael(sp?) and Ross. On the first day Ross showed up on this same Olympics race winning board. Ross was staying at the home of Kildy and Chris Carol who were doing the 24/7 thing at the time. On day two and each day after that Ross was riding prototype 24/7's, some with an extreme hammerhead similar to Kessler and SG of today. Coach and I had dinner at the Kildy/Carol house after training one day. There was a lot of discussion about board design, building and tuning. Ink

Thor, D.T., Big and I will be driving up Thursday evening and riding early chair on Friday. We are just day trippin' it. We will make turns while there. Ink
  9. I believe that is a 24/7 but not what Ross was riding in the big show. Ross rode 24/7 the year following the olympics. Ross was on one of his old F2's for the olympics. See Oly vid here http://www.rossrebagliati.com/ That is just a signed board. Ink

D.T. How was the Butte for you and Shelly? Mario had a great day sunday at the SES gig. Said he was riding the Hot well but still not rulin' on it. We went redneck for the weekend and checked out the Monster Truck Jam at the Urinal saturday night. KK had a great time seeing some of his favorites. He was a little disappointed that we didn't get to see donkey races though (story on the drive up to SES). :) Ink

Jeff, You are most welcome :). It was fun to watch the changes you made in your riding throughout the day. Keep it up and it will only get better. That and COME JOIN US more often. Don, You're welcome. It is fun the have you in the mix. AC, I told you once before another test, either you know the info or you don't and the mass studying isn't going to further you much. Good job getting further than most on the test. Oh yeah, YOU MISSED OUT ON A FUN DAY! Mario, Concussed just arrived back home last night. We are doing a Cowboy Pancake Breakfast at KarverKai's school on Saturday so I won't be on the hill. Have fun and keep the P-Tex side down. Are you and P in Aspen Sunday and Monday? Ink

  15. that happens to be under foot while I'm riding. I just love to snowboard. Be it HB or SB, alpine or freeride, GS, SL or freakcarve it is all just a bunch of fun and makes me smile and laugh like a kid again.
  16. Old teammate of mine was sponsored by Hooger back then. These were fun boards. Ink
  17. I have the 200 and tune it 1 base and 2 side. Ink
  18. You may want to post this in your local ride board. Most of us don't know anything about where you are at. Other locals will be a better resource for this kind of question than the main forum. Ink
  19. You are supposed to rotate INTO the turn, the direction you want to go. In the vid you are counter rotating out of the turn which makes turning really difficult to do well, especially when speeds are elevated. Shoulders should be rotating with the hips and can even rotate a little bit more if needed. Much of your driving comes from your hips and legs. If you rotate your shoulders too much you will begin to lose edge pressure and blow out of the turn. Those binding angles don't matter since you are still in an alpine stance and not straight across the board or duck. Also, don't let your hands come across so that they are both on one side of the board. They should stay on their respective sides of the centerline. Post in the CO ride board when you are coming out and I am quite positive you will get plenty of riders to question, watch, listen to and learn from. We have a great group of people out here who are very willing to help eachother get better. Ink
  20. I've run from 158 to 171 ranging from 8.2m to 11.6m scr. My preference is middle of the road for those, 162-166 with around 9.8m - 10.5 scr. I assume you are running full ski gates since you are talking about flushes and not stubbies. Keep your body going straight through the flush and move, very quickly, your feet left and right with very little redirection (don't point the board left and right, you'll waste time and get off line). A shorter board will help with this. Oh yeah, wear arm guards unless you like bruises. I miss running skier SL. Have fun Ink Oh yeah, 6' - 180lbs

  22. OVR, You can ride my (mario's old) FCII when you are out here if you want. It is still a fun board. I'll need to take it out again soon. Oh yeah, your sis can definately drop in. Ink
