  1. I keep thinking that this is what my quiver would look like if I never got married.
  2. Planter holder for a hotel lobby.
  3. Loved it. Ended up having to choose between a Lib Tech Grocer 180 and this APO 174, and choose the 174 as it was far less exhausting to ride. Ended up moving on to a shorter Lib, and now a Donek Incline. Similar feel to many older single radius side cut cambered boards. Missing the graphics as they were pretty nice and unique. Hopefully I'll settle down and stop buying older long boards is it's become an expensive obsession. Hope you are asking because you found one. Curious to know what others think now that APO has found some recent popularity after the Olympics.
  4. Remember in the 80s where a handful of mountains allowed boarding and this restriction was the norm? Loss of revenue drove the change. Now that there are many options on where families can go to board, I wonder if Alta is better or worse off by restricting who can use the mountain? I would guess that they are losing customers but I'm sure people would disagree. Maybe snow skates are the next big thing that is currently restricted at many mountains. Should we all be jumping on those and wishing we could ride the lift?
  5. In not, I think I have a bitcoin in my sofa cushion that I could drop in the mail.
  6. Consider trades? I have a Black Snow Edge. The cool one though, not the cheap looking plastic one from Boards R Us.
  7. Guess the smart thing to do would have been ordering a new board before all the mountains closed for the season. Regardless, thanks Sean. Don't think I have ever been so excited for the summer to end. 170cm 8.6M constant radius sidecut 25.8 waist
  8. More people pointing at you from the chairlift.
  9. Liners say 24 and my wife is a woman's 8. They seem to fit her OK.
  10. Bought a rig for my wife to try carving but she says no. Burton Factory Prime 160 w/ 20cm waist. Burton plates Raichle 314s in size 24 (I think) The photos show the condition. The base is definitely nicer than the topsheet. Bindings and boots are in great conditions. Liners look very un-used. How about $250 for the entire rig, and we can figure out shipping as it will need to go in two boxes. I have a board bag that you are welcome to if needed.

    Butt Furr

Az-mat and chair hair, good stuff. Found these photos of the original butt furr on Pintrest. Building any interest?

    Butt Furr

FYI, these Spyder shorts list of $160. I think a rug would be great. I went searching for a name other than butt furr and everything is taken. Bear Butt, Fanny Fur, Beaver Bum. If you are not going to be an early adopter, maybe contribute a name? Hey Bomber, want a new product line?

    Butt Furr

If anyone was around in the 80s there was a company called Butt Furr that made shorts out of the same material as bath matts or shag rugs that was intended to keep you warm on the chairlift or after a surf session. If you were at Surf Expo in Atlantic City around 85 you would have seen them as they were the talk of the show. They disappeared after one year (shocking) but are now back, but only making a shorts and bikinis out of velour or velvet. http://www.buttfurr.com/ Not nearly as wild as the original. I bought up all their early samples but they are all size small. The originals had a rubber backing so they were waterproof. I was at Stratton in the rain last week and watching all the racer kids in their skin suits wearing expensive Spyder shorts to stay warm and dry. I think we need to bring back the original butt furr idea for rainy/snowy days or just to make a fashion statement. So the question is, does anyone know where to get something similar to faux furr or bath mat shorts that are waterproof? Even better, does anyone want to go in on my million dollar idea? Here is the closest thing I could find on Etsy from Latvia. $75
  14. HI Robert, Congrats. I'll leave them for you this weekend. Some others wanted a ticket so if you are not going to use all three can you distribute? Thanks,
  15. Hi all, For anyone coming up to ECES next week, I ended up with three lift ticket vouchers when we were not able to go out due to weather. Rather than sell, I'm going to give these up as my contribution to the cause. First come, and I can leave these in an envelope at the lodge where you will be staying. Enjoy
  16. I'm at Stratton all this week as our kid's vacation does not line up with the event next week. Very sad. Next week NH and VT schools have off so expect some local kids on the mountain. Conditions have been different each day so hard to day. Sunday was brutally cold, -30ish without the wind. Only lower two lifts spinning on lower mountain but the snow was dry and well groomed. Same Monday. Tuesday - pouring rain with the temps getting up to 50. 80 degree temperature shift in a few days. The conditions were wet, heavy snow as we received a few inches overnight. The past few days have been heavily groomed, stiff snow with many scraped off areas in the afternoon. They have been blowing snow on Black Bear, Polar Bear and Janeway Junction/Lower Meadow all day in preparation for the weekend. It's going to get warm and rain again on Saturday and no new snow predicted early in the week so I would expect much of the same as what is here today. Runs like Standard, Lower Tamarck and Lower Liftilne are actually very carveable and have great coverage. No bare spots anywhere and the lift lines are very short. Even the Gondola. One thing that has taken me by surprise though. The number of ski school kid snakes is incredible. Hard to go top to bottom without putting the brakes on so you don't disrupt a class. They seem to really prefer the same trails we do so be very aware. With the crap season we have been having I think everyone will have a great time. They really have done a nice job on the trails. The cafeteria has airport prices so be prepared. The food is amazing so I'm not complaining. The carved turkey sandwich is $14 but you can substitute a turkey leg and go caveman style and get pretty full. I'm angry that I can't be with you all next week but please take photos and keep us all jealous.
  17. Picked up a K2 Diversion last year. Best venting I have found so far and it comes with speakers. First thing you are going to want to do is replace the speakers with Chips as the reviews will confirm, they are awful. You still end up with a great helmet, that has a rachet in the back, for under $200. Also picked up a Ruroc as the kids wanted them and we wanted to all match. Never use it though as it's pretty geeky and has no audio.
  18. I see a factory prime 135 on Ebay. Tried to ride one once. Like strapping a lunch tray to your feet. My kids were on Burton Choppers starting at 3 also. Great stuff. If you can get them in hard boots early, more power to you. I would be scared to have them going that fast before they are in the double digits.
  19. Have a Donek 164 Incline for sale. Good condition with some lift line marks and scratches in the base. Some marks on the topsheet where the bindings were as you can see in the photos. 25.5 waist with 9-11M variable sidecut. I weigh 175 and it felt pretty stiff for me, but very ridable. Looking for $250 plus shipping in the CONUS.
  20. Let me load some photos and specs Friday when I return home.
  21. Hi all, I have a Donek Incline 164 that I like, but wanted to try a Flow 167. If anyone wants to trade that, or something similar, let me know. I'm looking for a new soft boot board that is more fun to ride than my Lib Tech Litigator. No nasty comments please as I know this is a long shot. If there are no boards to trade, I'll post some photos at the end of the week and the Incline is up for grabs if anyone wants to buy it. Thanks
  22. Hi Teach, Went MLK weekend and the snow was too soft and sugary for a good carve so I stuck to soft boots. Monday looked like the right day as the snow firmed up so I think you got it right. Interesting thing was that there was a group of younger people wearing Camelback racing team jackets carving on Kesslers and other assorted gear, including a plate. Pretty good and nice seeing guys and gals out. When I took a run in hard boots on Sunday, they came spotted me and tracked me down to see who I was and introduce themselves. Very nice to see. Couldn't get out yesterday but the web cams looked good. Over groomed as usual. Booked a second weekend trip for Easter weekend end of March. Embarrased to say, but the best part of the trip for the family was the new indoor water park. They have a flowrider that my kids and I took lessons on one evening and I'm still recovering. Hopefully a day trip before then.
  23. Not sure if the problem is really the lack of equipment in shops that is holding back the growth of carving. I saw a parallel with windsurfing from working in a couple of surf shops for a dozen years. It's not intuitive enough to just put on some boots, strap in and carve up the mountain. The missing piece is the lack of instruction. I love hearing about Burton's woman's clinics and other workshops to get people into snowboarding in general. As with windsurfing, a three day workshop or even one day intro clinics, where everything from equipment to lunch being provided, typically hooked people and spread the word. Troy, I'm sure you looked pretty amazing and carved big trenches if you were riding for two weeks straight, which caused a lot of envy. My fear is that those same people, if you just suited them up and put them on the bunny slope, would have a bad experience. I'm with you that shops need to make it easier with rentals and some selection. Without some instruction, or even our little community showing people the basics, it's going to be rough. My proposal, let's have a newbie clinic at SES and ECES, or promote those Pure Boarding clinics a bit more. I would love to see more hard booters on the mountain, but not if they are sliding down on their butts or throwing their boards in the woods in disgust.
