  1. I am pretty certain that the Deeluxe boots fit narrow, but my UPZ RC-10 are narrow compared to most ski boots. They are not narrow when compared to race ski boots though. I am not sure the last on them as they aren't listed.
  2. Hmmm, I wonder if I can ditch the rooms and the lift tickets? I will send Gavin an email...
  3. Bringing this one back to the top as I acquired a set of UPZ 26.5 liners this summer for my 26.0/26.5 shells. Carpet carving has shown increased room within the boot and I have no numbness when wearing them. I may have found the answer I was looking for.
  4. Because I am Canadian and they are included with my bank.
  5. I will not be going and Sun Peaks is not open until Nov 19th.... new Coiler won't be here for a few more weeks anyway
  6. Why wouldn't you insure it for theft if you are so worried about it? No one cares about car alarms going off anyway. Our provincial insurance company has options for theft. It can be bundled with full comprehensive or taken as a stand alone item. I am sure you will find the same if you shop around.
  7. Along with the new Coiler, I even bought a set of used skis this year so that I can carve them up too!
  8. I have no idea what things cost where you live, plus I live in Canada so things are still more money than in the USA. The original poster asked what he should buy and I told him my experience. He did not give a price limit.
  9. Costs much more to buy things twice...just saying The TD2 are great as well, just a bit more work to get into vs. the TD3 due to the lack of bail stops.
  10. I was in your shoes (or boots) a year ago and could probably chime in. I am 5'9 and 220lbs. I went through a few sets of stuff, but here is what I can suggest. Boots Buy brand new boots, buy all . Have them fitted to your feet at a boot fitter. Bindings Get TD3 or TD3 SI from the start. The bail stops alone are worth it over the TD2. Go here first, don't buy any others, you will regret it. Board Get a shorter board to start with a large sidecut. I went for a 4WD 179 (10.5) and it was hard to handle while I was getting the hang of things. Shorter would have been better. I was able to demo a few boards from Prior and once I rode the FLC metal, the 4WD was up for sale and I ordered a metal Coiler. The metal was so much easier to ride and felt longer than it actually was due to the larger sidecut. So after my 1.5 years of buying and selling gear, this is what I ended up with. UPZ RC10 TD3 SI with Fintec heels Coiler AMT VSR 168 11.5m 21.5" waist
  11. Oh no, I had to buy before June 30th to get early bird pricing. I physically went and picked it up so I am ready to go on opening day. November 19 is opening day with the new Coiler.
  12. Going to pickup my Sun Peaks pass tomorrow. 64 more days until the lifts are running!
  13. I started with glass, then rode a metal board. Custom Coiler AMT on the way. I started with TD2, went to SnoPro SI, went back to TD3 SI. Won't go with anything other than Bomber from now on. I would spend every penny of that $2K on a new metal board, new TD3 SI, and new boots with Fintec heels. You will spend more than that if you have to buy it all twice or three times too! And listen to Angie, she is very pretty;)
  14. My dirt bike helmet is a Troy Lee Designs Air. No fogging in heat/cold/rain/snow so I think the one above would flow well also. But, to each their own. I might start to wear my back protector this year on the slopes.
  15. What about something like this with the visor removed? Still LOTS of airflow with additional protection. And you wouldn't look out of place if you have BX at your hill.
  16. It snowed on my home mountain, Sun Peaks, last week on the top 1000' or so. Didn't last long but sure looked pretty up there at 7000' feet. Guess I better email Bruce to see how my Coiler is coming along.
  17. I got Bruce to build me a board for this season and I will see it in later November. The numbers will mean nothing because it will be perfect
  18. I have a Prior MFR 168w that I want to get rid of that has a 26.5cm waist. I had the base ground this winter and gave it a nice wax. The edges could use a bit more tuning though, but it is sweet in the powder.
  19. $560 CAD for unlimited access to Sun Peaks. Early bird & locals price though. Doubles after June.
  20. Have they finally paid all of the people they fired this winter for wrongful dismissal?
  21. Thanks Ray. I have been away from home for the lsat 3 weeks and plan to stay here for a bit. I would have only been able to bring my boots and bindings as I sold my carving board. Spending my time with this one for the next few months.
  22. Yah, I think he still comes up to the Peaks and rips it in his old alpine gear. I will have to ask Coach next time I am in Oronge about it.
  23. That is the Barnhartvale gravel pit in 1993. Not allowed in there anymore though. I heard he was back in Kamloops again. http://mulchee.pinkbike.com/channel/barnhartvale-gravel-Pits---location-of-Kranked-1/
  24. AgassizSkidder has a pair of ATB boots. I have not ridden boots with BTS, but the UPZ work just like described above. Lock them in ride mode and they still flex on the springs fore and aft. Can be tightened and loosened, plus springs can be swapped out. My Burton Wind boots did the same. And they are on sale now if you have the right size foot. http://www.upzboots.com/pricelist.html Here is the back of my boot with the lever in walk mode.
