  1. thanks, now I get why Ryan goes as Special Guest
  2. Copper Mnt works fine for Donek Daze... I assume they (resort management) are openminded
  3. also @Cthulhufish you can detune nose and tail
  4. agree @Cthulhufish check steps from Ben https://youtu.be/SqY2dSXY_lM try to do them as exercise; it will help you to understand how to steer this board; first time I watched the video, my thoughts "WTF this guy is doing... I don't need EC"... but doing it as exercise helps to get rid of soft boot habits; BTW if you want EC it's a good starting point PS BTW @b.free spent precious time on a slope to point at my soft boot legacy which was holding me back; Ben's video helped to understand alpine basics
  5. you will figure it out) also you can control speed via tightening radius of a turn to stop being passenger tilt a board quickly and early... timing matters a lot, I assume you are too late so you have to skid... I've been there quite recently)) still are sometimes (
  6. I have both: smallest UPZ and Shell A MS MS shell is a little bit narrower and maybe 2mm shorter - at least it feels this way (I tried to my liners from UPZ in MS for couple days) maybe not shorter, just narrower
  7. I assume Sean made this board for your weight; so you are good here; there is a transition from softboot to alpine equipment - the way you ride alpine board is VERY different; give the board a chance; ride it for a season work hard on alpine technique, try to rewire your brain in order not to use softboot reflexes and instincts on alpine setup
  8. if we are talking about width the both are narrow 254 vs 260 not that big difference imho you have us9 so, for aggressive carving, you have to have +15, 18, or even 21 degree angle on rear binding, and even more on front one contact length on 163 is quite enough looks it's the best in your list PS it's good board, but it requires certain level of skill, if you are ready to improve, go for it if you are riding a board, you do not see top sheet, it's covered with snow... I really do not care how topsheet looks unless it's custom board and I have to pick one
  9. taking price into account I'd say - F2 Eliminator WC TX - Carbon/Kevlar* in 163** (Flex: 7/10, effective edge: 1440mm, sidecut radius: 13,2m, waist width 254mm) for 349€ 700€ BUT you have to be ready for more aggressive stance angles 13.2m is not too much, but at the beginning it could be uncomfortable
  10. race bx ones means no relaxed riding) so for beginner carver I'd say stock F2 Elim 10.2m for experienced one I'd say B1 from Sean - or hard boots))
  11. thanks I'd stick with this one http://beta.carver.si/snowboards/f2_snowboards/f2_eliminator?limit=100
  12. F2 Eliminator is not just one board - it's a family of boards; very different (sidecut, stiffness, materials) from my experience the best entry Elim is the simplest AllMountain/Freecarve one [yes, there is such one too] I'd stick with longest and widest which was always 166w all others will be to narrow for you I used to ride 163 with us8 boots - us9 will require wider one I cannot find specs for latest 166w - but as I remember sidecut radius was ~11meters which is quite comfortable for nub carver
  13. Selling my UPZs in good condition; pre 2015 Black tongues New Intuition Liners 24cm Recently replaced heels $200 + shipping PS selling since switched to different boots
  14. 272 require grind or pinch or both 268 - easy peasy liner squeezy
  15. Dec, Jan, and probably Feb: people w/out helmets are very rare exceptions End of Feb and March [spring break and vacation times] it's hoards without helmets sunglasses + beanie what else do you need to enjoy a vacation) it looks like folks that spend a week a year on slopes do not consider wearing a helmet so seriously as ones who ski/ride a lot PS I usually avoid riding Christmas-NY week so it's probably the same mess, or maybe not since it's much colder so helmet is a better option )))
  16. thank you!!!
  17. rear: max lean forward + heel lift front: no lean; no lift stance 49-50cm PS but I am mediocre rider so you don't listen to me ))
  18. boots first having your own boots will allow you to use demo boards when available
  19. never worked for me I ride upz 24.0 (heat molded them of course) in the smallest upz shell this is how it works for my feet [26.7] I'm supposed to have next size of upz shell, but it feels like WAY TOO LARGE PS not advising anyone to go shell size down, but this is the way which keeps my feet like boots made of concrete
  20. looks like I have to think toward size A to get the narrowest possible
  21. I did read on another forum that it comes (B size) with couple volume reducing insole under liner. is it true? Volume wise, does it have less volume than UPZ? I mean shell internal volume
  22. which UPZ shell size did you have? which 951 shell did you get? do you like liners which come with 951?
  23. I ride till 11:30-12 usually I'll PM my cell
