Yep.
About 8 of us (I'm the only gaijin) all ride hardboots and half also carve softboot on some variations of Gray Desperado boards.
Feel free to join, I'm there all Feb every Feb. But in Nagano, not Niseko. Niseko is like the Kuta of Japan (full of drunk Aussies).
I feel you regarding the food and cost. Convenience store meals couldn't get any better. Ahh memories of dipping my feet into the foot Onsen overlooking the valley while eating a few 150JPY Lawson chicken and a coke for lunch. Sashimi chefs cutting up fresh fish in the supermarket deli all day (200g of tuna for 1000JPY waow). Premium wagyu costing about 5000-7500JPY/kg (costs 10x that at home in a restaurant). Come 5 o clock all the sashimi is half price and after 1 day the wagyu is 30% off.
For 35 days I spent a couple of hundred under my budget of USD4000 all tolled including flights, transfers, insurance, food, season pass (bought it for 50,000, sold it for 15,000), accommo, a few days at a specialty powder resort, even bought a couple of overpriced hakuba edition the north face t shirts.
