  1. It is all just right and left...Bomber Industries does it better than the rest.
  2. Last week I heard the dreaded "it must be fast?!" it is when you use your edges for turning instead of a brake...the guy looked at me very confused
  3. for sure. I plan to be up at summit on Jan 8 for the get together and I will bring everything i have
  4. I have, thanks to Miltie a few boards that you might want and the price is right. Free pick up in the OC. prior wcr 185 circa 2002 waist 20.5 Sims premier 167 not sure what year waist 18 Tom was generous enough to donate these to me but i will not have a chance to ride them this season. He is also hooking me up with a sims carve 2 164 that will be a staple for me later this year along with my oldformer faithful ultra prime 162 that i plan to keep. Felice lance at gmail dot com
  5. I don't have a raptor. I prefer traditional rocker/camber. I am currently softbooting on a 3 hole burton custom x 164. Next season, will be something custom from donek. See my cheesy phone videos below on a broken, 10th anniversary custom 162 from last season. Good luck!
  6. I was there and made several runs with George S. Super fun, in and out early though. Great to have you back on the slopes George/ Btw, looking good for a bionic man! Where were you Outdoorescue????
  7. going to be fun. Up there both days. Sat and Sun
  8. I will be there rain or shine on a burton fusion/i'm the storm trooper www.ruroc.com
  9. Carving Chef's Very nice board. Bought bindings from him, reliable seller!
  10. I would love to see an upper hoop with maybe even a bitchen highback and some comfy straps too. No extra cash this year but next season, its on! So bring it!
  11. Mt high has been good! Better exposure in the am than summit. Kids did well. Looks like a bad week followed by a worse weekend. Come on la nina, drop some of that moisture down here.
  12. i always say run what ya brung... im at mt high every weekend. i bring a few boards...try one. I have several and if you fit size 8-9 boots I have a back up pair. See you up there!?
  13. Point was that there is no way to carve at turn with a 15/-15 stance. It may be comfy but it will always lead to skidding. That s all I meant. Dont take it so hard...I also meant that you need ride your standard board in an "uncomfy" stance. Race is about 65/55, ec on wider boards at flatter angles...55/50. Not much difference. Big difference from your "comfy" stance to mine though... as noted, 2 cents. Of course angles will vary from race/rec to ec, but they are both angled, highly angled...

  15. Lower angles. But i would suggest before you ever get the boots or binders you eliminate the duck stance and try something more like 24/12 or more if your freestyle board/bindings will handle those angles. Get the feeling before jumping on the carving board as you WILL be discouraged and wonder if your investment was worth the while...also an alpine board will serve you your arse for breakfast if you are not prepared. I too spend alot of time on the dark side(soft boots) but duck stance is akin to 'tard stance. Watch Terje and check his stance...24/12... My 2 centavos...
  16. I am looking for a litigator. Found one for $50.00 custom painted for a guy by Jamie Lynn but the base material had completely deteriorated. It had exposure issues from being used primarily as a display at a local surfshop. He pulled it out and I was so psyched only to see the base... still looking. Plate pow board for me
  17. Most instances, #2 is the easiest/best fix
  18. room for earbuds/ I use the hoop style one piece bud system. The Goggles are HUGE but plenty of room for those pesky glasses
  19. You can see my shoelace tether in the second photo
  20. Here is the Ruroc RG-1 I purchased online at www.ruroc.com. This is direct from the vendor in Great Britain. It is also available via facebook and another dealer in the US at www.rurocusa.com. Cost with shipping was @ $265 USD. First of all, I like this helmet and anyone that sees it is drawn to it. It is snug being a large model and I do not feel I have a large head. If you are a big boy or have a ton of hair, it may not fit. They do have an extra set of padding available/ mine was ordered as a medium and had the large padding included so the shell size from M-L is the same. That said...included in my stylish box was: 1. 2 stickers 2. a keychain 3. xtra padding 4. soft goggle pouch 5. helmet/goggles/mask 6. simple instructions and a miniature bible of instructions(need a microscope to read the print) That said, Pros and cons: Pros: 1. Cool factor/you look like a storm trooper(interpretive) 2. Nice snug but comfortable fit 3. its got a mask 4. awesome goggles with great field of view 5. full wrap helmet/covers the ears and wraps deep into the back of the neck with comfort(even with a large coat with hood) 6. Mask is comfy and easy to put on and take off with gloves(takes some practice) 7. I was running laps and got hot on an above freezing day/ NO FOGGED LENSES!!! 8. For the money, the system works well together and is effective at protection and integration of mask helmet and goggles with room for earbuds Cons: 1. Cool factor/you look like a storm trooper(interpretive) 2. The mask has flaws a. no tether for the mask.lift line b. it still collects moisture just like a baclava or bandana, etc... c. it sits very close to your face and the securing tabs could wear out 3. cost. its not cheap 4. Like any helmet when doing vigorous activity, it gets hot and you sweat 5. For the money, a t-shirt or a helmet bag or some other, better swag would have made me feel better about the high price 6. Big heads must pass this one by Ruroc delivers a good system at a good price. You have to decide what works for you and this, works for me.
  21. They are pretty weak. absolute entry level only. I think I am going to keep them as they fit and can be used locally by guys like yourself that want to get started. Sorry to lead you on a little but good luck! Ski boots for next to nothing are available everywhere and are acceptable for learning.
