  1. Thanks tex. I have been on and off carving boards since 89' and still fidling with angles as well. I still prefer the freestyle board but I am bored with them and am finally committing at least the morning groomers to the carving board. Any additional feedback is appreciated!
  2. As a novice hardbooter, what would be the recommended stance angles and stance width for this /ultra prime 162/ or any other board for that matter? I am 5'11 and 190lbs/ size 9/mondo 26??? I have burton raceplate bindings and one canting plate. I used it previously but have since removed it. I currently am comfortable riding at 48/45. I have gone through every recommended/faq page I could find here but am still a little unclear. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Oh and this is the only carving board I can afford this season. :nono:The only one I have. I have ridden in the past: 170 kemper aggressor with 3 strap/ burton pj 5/burton alp 5.7/and my current ultra prime 162. I have burton freecarve boots that I plan to replace but on a budget/ wife,mortgage,kids...
  3. 2000-2003 mercedes wagon. 4-matic if necessary. We get 24-29 mpg on our 99 4matic. Its roomy, luxurious, a champ in the snow, and used cost under $10000. check it out...

    Gloves?!?!

By far, the best gloves I ever had were modeled after the old school outdoor research mittens from the late 80's /early 90's(also known as the "late, earlies" for those of us with sketchy memories)They were custom made by a local hippie that made several pairs at the time for the local crew at Crystal Mountain WA. I used those 60 days a year for about 4 years before having to do any repair. They have finally died but I plan on getting another set made soon! Look at my profile pic (not the avatar) 1992' I'm wearing them!!
  5. East Side is alot more fun for "us". I always have a great time over there. I have a friend that has a cabin in arrow bear so we get up to Snow Valley sometimes. I'll try to make the trip up to Summit.
  6. I don't think I have been more excited about snowboarding since fall of 1990' when I got the waiter job with housing at Crystal Mtn. Looks like alot of great people here. I am looking forward to meeting new friends and a fresh way at looking at snowboarding! Thank you all!
  7. Will do for sure! I mostly go to Mtn High, but I will go the distance up to Summit for people to ride with
  8. Terry, Thanks for "sounding off". I can usually be found at Mountain High East midweek. Not many days a year due to kids, wife, mortgage, etc... I stay as far away from West as possible. I will have some days off here in December and plan to ride locally. I also have a project in Mammoth next to the bridge under chair 15 and plan to get some days in around getting the job done. Also I'm hitting up Crystal Mountain in Feb for my 40th Birthday. A present from me to me! I will post here when and where I plan to ride and hope to hook up with like minded riders as "Terrain Parks" just don't do it for me. Go fast and leave a deep groove!
  9. I'm new here to bomberonline and stoked to be here! I spent 90'-96' working at Crystal Mountain WA and summers 96'-99' working for Kelly Jo Legaz/Kelly at Blacomb at Board With the World camp. I am usually stuck riding locally and spend at least the first few runs of the day on the carving board. I would love to hook up with any local carvers/freeriders and lay some ruts. I hate they direction that snowboarding has taken and love the speed and style that carving boards offer. This is not my first carving setup but I am still a novice at riding a carving setup. I am committed to carving this season instead of dabbling as I have done for so many years. Hope to hear and ride with you soon!!! lancef at audioimages dot tv
