  1. custom 162 15/-3 -3 puts back foot (inside of stance) straight across board I never change my stance for any occaision/pow or otherwise. Back in the day I used to ride terje stance...21/9 great for big mountain freeriding and speed. I am thinking of doing this with hardboots on the freestyle board at similar angles just for fun...
  2. Buy flow for the convenience and the support. Easy in and out with tons of support. Just buy last years top o' the line freeride binding and save some dough! You will not be disappointed.
  3. primarily a soft booter. I have been on Flow bindings since their inception. 1995 prototypes at Kelly's Camp @ Blacomb. I have dabelled in three straps and hard boots since 90' and have recently committed(last 2 seasons) to at least 5 runs a day on the hard boot setup. The local mountain"terrain features" are like litter instead of fun for me and snowboarding at MT High West is torture. Skid, skid, skid, 1080 to nose press B.S.>.... More and more as I get older that I am finding snowboarding new again when riding hard boots and alpine boards. If only the legs could take it all day...I'll get there!
  4. Great to meet oldvolvosrule, arclite and carving chef. conditions were good. I commited to four runs before I switched over to old faithful soft setup. Look forward to hooking up again soon:biggthump
  5. confirmed. Slopestar/Lance and Mark and Marc coming with. Leaving OC/tustin at 6am. See you there. I'll be looking for other hardbooters for a few pointers!!
  6. Thank you. Crystal Mountain Rules and that burton Air 6.1 was one of my favorite decks. I think I warrantied that board 4x as I kept breaking the nose top-sheet apart. I finally got the green air 6 and rode that for a long time. I like a torsional stiff board with soft nose flex I guess? Good luck at the races. I hope I can meet up on Sunday with everyone at Snow Summit. I would love a few pointers on riding my Ultra Prime. I should be at Mt. High on Weds.
  7. Thanks King, which one do you like? spring moguls, just under the top of Rainier Express chair/pow bump jump, Upper Ferk's run/ or patrol flyby, Little Portillo. all photos from Crystal Mountain Wa circa 92'-94' I used to have a libtech race board with kemper 3 strap bindings That saw alot of time on Rainier express chair!!! I recently found one online that i wanted to pull the trigger on but I would rather buy something to suppliment my small quiver.
  8. You are right about that/riding the carving board in the am. I just flipped my stance form 51/48 to 60/57 with a burton cant disc on the rear. I only rode the Ultra prime about 12 runs last year. Stance is much more comfortable now. When I lived at Crystal Mountain WA from 90-96 I rode my freestyle boards at 21/9. I currently ride freestyle boards at 15/-3. My biggest concern riding the ultra prime is the new angles and the burton freecarve boots I have. I need to upgrade to boots with more ankle support. I plan on riding at Mt High on Weds too...fyi. If summit has board check, ultra prime first, then I can make a quick switch to the custom:biggthump when the time is right. I will never sell a board again BTW. I have had so many boards that I wish I still had today:1luvu:
  9. Saw the weather this morning. Sunday is go day. Bringing my ultra prime and the custom. Probably will ride the custom for first hour or so/first day and all. Then switch up to the prime. Maybe I'll ride my super new never seen custom made special over my 11 year old/ one and only carving setup... you guys are like chicks and shoes. I would kill to have a quiver of exotic and specialized boards but I realized long ago that you can only ride them one at a time...besides I can barely afford the lift ticket without taking food off my kids plates.
  10. I think all that crap on the mountain makes it too congested. I am fine with "terrain" features but how many rails can you cram in. it forces everyone to stop and skid. Its a freakin' hazard:AR15firin:flamethro
  11. Thanks gdboytyler/ now I am doubting going on Sunday. I have the week of the 7th of and may have to opt out of Sunday. Might be better anyway to go midweek.
  12. This one has been working for me... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_pN-jcfo8w
  13. I cant wait until some of these lovely ladies are ready for sloppy seconds! :AR15firinI hate you all and:1luvu: love the new rides!!!
  14. added to your list of confirmed...There are no friends on a pow day/keep up if you can!!!
  15. Thanks harvard but I was looking for boots not antiques. I already have a pair of burton megaflex for nostalgia purposes. But, it's the thought that counts and I thank you for that!:o
  16. No but I am crawling craigslist more often!
  17. Not sure if its a good thing but I have recruited several guys that ride at my office to go up Sunday. Lets hope they open up more of the mountain by sunday and the Highway Patrol doesn't decide to require 4wd with chains at running springs because of an inch or two of snow on sunday...
  18. 4) Slopestar/ Lance Felice/ bringing both!!/ boards that is...I am one person...
  19. I slayed my living room the other night on my ultra prime. Kids helped. Sorry no photos, I would hate to embarrass anyone, especially myself!
