  1. Am looking to get back into it after a few years off of boards. Looking for a used directional board (possible bindings). Would prefer older, non-rocker BX type board, 162-166 or so. Willing to trade Solomon BBR 8.9 178cm skis with Marker Free bindings. Skis are in very good shape, with only 1 season on them, maybe skied 15 times. Or older AK King Salmon 184cm skis, drilled once. Best to email me with any offers at: marc (dot) cirigliano (at) gmail Thanks--Marc
  2. Yes, shameless self-promotion for my new novel, Scrape Exchange, published through Amazon Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/Scrape-Exchange-ebook/dp/B008SH5JQM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344096723&sr=8-1&keywords=scrape+exchange If you don't have a Kindle, you can download a free Kindle Reader for your computer. The novel is mostly funny, about a 2nd string QB for the Cleveland Browns.
  3. Brought this 2010-11 Nidecker Platinum 163cm snowboard new few months ago from Berg's Ski & Sport in Eugene for $370 shipped. It is redundant in my quiver, so is sitting, never mounted, only hand flexed a few times. As all of you would know here on BOL, this is an aggressive board for carving, BX or fast all-mountain riding. Here is a good review of the board: http://www.snowboard-review.com/snow...iew/platinum2/ . Will take reasonable offers via text/call to Five-8-five-749-seven-seven-36 or emails to mcirigliano (at) rochester,rr,com. Will ship USPS Parcel Post. Payment through PayPal. Thanks.
  4. Ok, Pat. Let's pray for cold and snow, eh?
  5. Ueli Kestenholz, Nicolas Conte, Karl-Heinz Zangerl and Sigi Grabner have put together the best instructional video on snowboard stance and movement within the stance. This is absolutely excellent:

    "on Edge"

Very nice video--good to get a look inside how you guys do things. I like the foam pit--really cool!!!!
  8. Three different POVs for the same GS run: In the third POV, you have a clear idea of early preparation just after the last gate and even half-way before the next one.

    Ride it!

Would be better here back East to have some snow and not watch videos, but this is pretty cool. Garrett McNamara getting it done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dyBzYCEyUlE

Yeah, some serious speed!!!! Me like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. No doubt about this. I have avoided our local snowboard shop for several years fearing that their mental retardation may be contagious and terminal.

    Economy of Motion

There's a lot of expertise on this site with all the participants who can answer that better than I can.

    Economy of Motion

I stumbled across these videos today by accident. I think they are of the Schoch brothers, Simon and Philipp: If you ever wanted examples of good economy of movement, both of these would be up there at the top of the list. This is pretty nifty stuff.
  14. Snow is getting near and I'm pretty psyched. To tide you over, there is some really nice YouTube.com stuff by Masaki Shiba. Great footage of both GS and SL: http://www.youtube.com/user/MasakiChannel Enjoy!
