  1. So who else is going??? I promise to ride plates for 4 runs!
  2. Looks like all my passes are spoken for. Definitely there for first chair.
  3. NO>>>>!!!! So sorry to hear. That is terrible news.:( I hope that all will mend and you will be back up next season 100%. Get some rest and tune up your fleet of boards with a nice coat of "summer" wax, you will be up in no time. If not, can I have your board? JK....no really...
  4. Sounds good to me!!! I will be going up with A softboot buddy and will probably only do a few runs on the plate board. Hope it's good. Look forward to meeting you and your wife.
  5. I am exercising 4 free passes I got from a friend. Must be used on same day. Probably going up Friday Night with a place to crash for free in Arrow Bear Just below Snow Valley. 1-2 passes available. Anyone want to go?
  6. putty knife is there just to roll off the soot from the candle. weld with the stick, don't drip it. certainly don't use anything to pack it in:nono:. weld it up and keep it warm and build up a continuous bead
  7. Check out the video... extreme skidding. I don't think they can actually carve a turn...
  8. I have had a lot of luck with the clear sticks. The trick I have used is to warm the base with a clean iron or even a small torch. WARM, not melting and be sure it is clean and deburred:nono:. Get the candle burning and use a metal pan or putty knife to roll/turn the still burning candle at a 45 degree angle against the metal. Be sure to keep the candle burning. Keep a lighter or torch handy. This rolling effect on the metal surface will get rid of the soot from the candle. Soot is VERY bad for adhesion...Quickly and carefully, get the candle to the wound. I will just place the pan or putty knife right next to the wound. Almost like welding, drip and push the candle gently into the wound and work your way 2 steps/drips forward, one drip/step back and so on...until filled. By keeping the candle burning and pretty much touching the base/wound the entire time. The further away from the base, the more likely to soot up. A nice blue flame is the key. Any tuners agree or have other advice? Hope this helps:o
  9. Swiss. Bruce from Coda says you may have a "sideways 163" that I might be able to demo. Perhaps I could crash your party and make some turns with you all???
  10. This is all I have. Softies/156 burton motion with flows 1998'
  11. that would be a 90'-91' i had a regular 157. also an asym air with the red topsheet
  12. I just busted a nut...Wish i had some dough for that virgin beauty!
  13. couldn't find the boots in for sale. didn't look real hard either/ late season...CHEAP is what I need but thanks anyway
  14. push and pull through the turn always works for me. i ride 21f/-3b for all conditions on softies. This sets the back foot straight accross the tail. great for switch carving. drive forward on the front foot through the turn and roll out over the heel, slightly lifting and pulling as you initiate the heelside edge. but what do I know?
  15. Currently, the "yays" have it. I do both, I love both, show me a softbooter forum that has anything to do with carving. I left my baggies and ducked stance back in 91' Got my first PJ and Innercourse. Hello rail! Segregate the masses that already agree to a sub forum and make everyone happy. I get to enjoy the best of both worlds in one great place and the the purists can remain snobs. Bomber is a hardboot site There is no contesting that, but the road to hardboot heaven is paved with softboot soles!
  16. I need a better pair of boots. The old burton freecarves and my ancient megaflex just do not cut it. Anyone with smaller feet have some cheap boots in the closet. I will take anything 4 buckle!
  17. I ride both. They both are snowboarding. You all have valid points. I feel that riders that choose soft, but ride alpine style are alienated from the snowboarding majority. I don't associate with the freestyle/jib crowd. I have always ridden fast and laid rail. There has been so much embrace from local BOL riders that enjoy the style of alpine riding regardless of the boots, binders or board under their feet. Just being on the hill with these people has been such a pleasure. True ambassadors to the sport of snowboarding/not just to hardbooting. It is sad to see a handful of you go against that grain. I get the point. It sucks! Because I split most days 70/30 soft to hard, I will now only spend 30 percent of my free time following up on hardboot snowboarding and the pursuits etc...of the people involved in this discipline of snowboarding and 70 percent of my free time trying to build a website that keeps any discussions about hardbooting and its disciples out because it has absolutely nothing to do with laying rail in softboots... If I ride softboots, I will stay away from my hardbooter friends although they will admit that I could out carve them on softies. Get your heads out of the sand. Embrace all comers and if possible give a small nod. otherwise you are just as bad as the ski snobs I fought with on the hill in the mid eighties or the friging tight pants jib and skid crew. Snobs:nono:...so sad...I feel sorry for you
  18. I had the pleasure of meeting and riding with King Crimson/Theo a couple weekends ago. You would never guess he was not an adult. Great fast carver. I had fun playing chase with him in my softies. I too have the crappy old hardboots because I cant afford $550 for a decent pair and mondo 25 does not grow on trees in the used marketplace. I guess I will slum it in softies until I can afford a decent pair of boots. BTW Flow boots and bindings rule:biggthump
  19. anyone in? Bringing sister in law's foreign exchange student from Sweden. He will be so disappointed...
  20. George, you were right im a mondo 25.4 so I guess that means I need mondo 25... I will be looking for boots this spring
