  1. Seems a bit high to me. However; number == buying power. Lots of factor: prime time, how many spots is your group gurantee? some sample price: ski club in NYC: Vail, Colorado - $1395 (early payment) Feb. 6th - 13th, 2010 Non-stop flights via United Airlines (LaGuardia to Denver) Seven Nights Lodging at the Evergreen Lodge Continental Daily Breakfast (Optional Full Breakfast Available for $5.00 per day) Roundtrip Transfers from and to Denver 5/6 Day Pass for Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin Mid-Week Wine and Cheese Party All Taxes and Services The ski club I belong to did a vail trip with similar itinerary for less than 1000. <-- however we did 4 day lift ticket. I just buy a lift ticket from the group for $20? so the price goes up and down... HTH -- David
  2. You can try google transit: http://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/transit/#mdy Where exactly is the Marriott in NJ? Guess hostel is out of the questions? 311 Times Square Hostel
  3. Second!!!! Plan to pick it up when it's available pending that it's also suitable for the non racer. -- David
  4. I do think it's a good idea to keep the beginner hill separated. One bunny hill for skier One bunny hill for snowboarder At least it would help me greatly when I first started. The more advance skier/boarder won't even care. Lots of animosity toward skier were form on the beginner hill for I. Skier cut me off, fall, got the wind knock out of me. Curse skier!! and repeat LOL... good time. I don't know what drive me to keep doing it. Of course now I have realize that it's stupid to act malevolence toward a group of ppl based on their equipment of choice. Just a thought.

Proofed Army Leather on the palm and Wolf Paw reinforcements for optimum durability. http://www.hestragloves.com/www/live/hestragloves/hgproduct.aspx?TreeID=321&ShopTreeID=19&ProductID=508 Which feature: Wolf Paw® A patented fingertip reinforcement design that eliminates seams from surfaces that get the most wear and tear. Used mainly for our snowboard and extreme carving gloves. Swedish Patent No. 962698-4 European Patent No. 97932107.2 We should see how it hold up this season. -- David
  6. skier: Snowboarder have the park to themself!!! snowboarder: skier are allow in the half pipe and park!!! Alots of time there are trail that's reserve for race training. I don't recall seeing any snowboard on those trails. To be fair it's not open to the public skier. Skier also have the bump runs. I don't go into it on purpose :) I am sure there are snowboarders have the skill to really enjoy the moguls. Just not for me. What about faimly want to ski together? Do I have a point? not really. Just think that most mountain is big enough for everybody. We are not going to miss 3 trails. Guess it's human nature to want to do stuff we are forbid to do. This could be a bad precedent for all of us.
  7. Depend on where do you stay. All three resort/surrond towns are service by the free shuttle bus. The paid bus goes between Vail <--> Creek. Leave the car in the hotel/condo and take the bus is what I would do. Beaver Creek suppose to have the steepest World Cup run in the US? I heard that from the mountain guide. All 3 resort of free mountain tour. I would take adventages of it. They might only take you on blue/ single black run however they do show you how to get around the mountains. It's usualy depend on the ability of the group. My tour guide tooks us through the glades!!! My guess is they try to lose the only boarder in the group :)
  8. There is free coco/cookie time at Beaver Creek. The way I see it is coming down to (BC+ Vail) VS Steamboat. BC and Vail are close enough that you can hit both Resort in a day if you want to. Crowd: Vail can get crowd in the front face; but once you are in the back bowl you should be ok. Never really notice a crowd @ Steam Boat or Beaver Creek. Cost wise: I think Beaver Creek actully came out to be the cheapest for me. Which is suprising since it's catering toward the high end crowd. Sure you could drop tons of money @ BC if you choose to do so. Cost really comes down to what you spenting your money on. Raman noodle vs 5 star eatery... I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices. My vote is BC+Vail. HTH -- David
  9. Great doing business with you. Board arrived NY safe and sound!!! Can't wait for snow. Thanks David

  11. http://www.buygpsnow.com/Department/Top-Sellers/Top-Data-Loggers.aspx I have buy some gps receiver from them with great success. Iphone have gps build in, however I don't know if it have enough precision for snowboard gps data logging. The higher the sample rate; the more accurate the data. ie speed. timex ironman gps watch which sounds exactly like what you need.

  17. I am not a racer. Just found whole bunch of 2009 BX videos on my dvr/tivo. I see lots of SG/Kessler and a Donek!!! And Lots of Burton? Just wondering if there is a website that list the equipments of what the pro are using. Guess most of them are custom anyway. It would be great to keep track of fun infomation like: Palmer is use kessler shapes What big snowboard company use rocker/titnal/VSR shape and etc. 46 more days to go until first trip!!! In the mean time just trying to find something to amuse myself. Thanks David
  18. I will take the combo for $350. btw what size is the binding? Thanks David
  19. I been to Jackson twice; and going back for the third time this season. Jackson is expensive however mangy moose near bottom of the tram is cheap and food is decent. Apres Vous and Casper area have some good groom run. There is a free moutain guide daily. Which is great for getting to know the mountain. Pick up a vertical club challange at the guest service. 100k veritcal feet get you a pin, 300K get you a bronze belt buckel. It's a booklet that your mark with pencil. There are 3 resorts in the area Snow king <-- Good grooming, have some steep stuff!!! cheap lift ticket and slow lift. Might be good for night riding or off day. I usualy stay @ snow king resort there is usually one free night lift ticket if you stay there. Grand Targhee <-- I have never been. However I was told go there when it snow. Jackson: The main attraction. On off day; you can snowmobile into yellow stone national park. It's pretty expensive. However there are no car allow. And it's almost like a complete different park. Paging caspercarver. I belive he is local and give me some tip for my last trip. HTH David
  20. Anyone have more data on the actul cost on shipping? carrier ,cost round trip, weight, origin, destination ie ups, $150, 80lb, NY, CO I usualy travel with my ski club. Airline tend to be more lenient when it's a big group. However that's changing too. Last year I was only 3lb over and they want to charged me $50. I just pull a shell out of my board bag and save $50. Thanks in advance.
  21. you can install window 7 fresh. I belive vista requirement is for upgrade. Install fresh mean: you have to back up your data, reinstalled your applications. It's much cleaner and you will less likely ran into issue when do it this way.
  22. big photo of the flame donek: http://www.seanmartinphoto.com/photos/522348140_fYt9j-O.jpg
  23. Sean: Thank you for asking us for feedback!!! It's always apprecaited from a vendor. All the topsheet design looks great. That flame donek look like $$$$$$$$$$. It's very bad ass; is that topsheet carbon fiber? The bird almost look like it's 3D To me it's really diffcult to strike the balance between price and look. Let those who have money to burn order the design they want. Poor bloke like me will take the stock one without any hestiation. rusty metal:
  24. How's this board for ppl are on the heavy side? something like 230lb - 240lb?
