  1. I face the same problem for the past 2 seasons. Most airline have reduce the luggage weight from 100lb to 50lb. You can always paid extra to bring both hard/soft setup. Or just bring the soft boots + hard boot set up. You can always rent/demo softboot snowboard if need be. Are you more comfortable with hard boot or soft boot? If it's a mountain you never been to. Most resorts on the west coast is bigger than what I have back home. You probably will spent a day or two exploring. I would do that on the setup that you are most proficient at. You might get trap by mogule/trees/steeps and etc. Check the weather often. Check the local board here to get feedback on the conditions. Personally alpine board for me work well in powder that's less than 2 feet. I bought only 180 gs board to lake tahoe and they got 7 feet of powder. I would have a much better time if I did bring my soft setup. But I think that's due to my own lack of experience. I am sure other will chime in. HTH David
  2. I might be going to Jay Peak for a week during December 19-24 2009. I was there for new year couple years ago and it's COLD and windy!! 2 days out of the week the lift were on wind hold. It's probably too early to tell; but questions for those in the area. What's the condition like in mid/late December? Carve/powder/rock board? mid weight /expenditon weight fleece? Jay used to have a historical/monthly snow fall chart. However I can't find it on their website now. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments. David

"People You May Know looks at, among other things, your current friend list and their friends, your education info and your work info. If you are already friends on Facebook with some people from your last job, for example, you may find some more of your former coworkers (assuming they are visible to you in search) among the "People You May Know' suggestions." Like most internet business. They will do data mining. It's funny/interesting/scary all the stuff Amazon suggest for me. More than half the time it's stuff that I might actul be interesting @. 5. My point is that if your friend had contact you via email b4 and they import their contact into Face book. They might figue out that you guys might know each other.
  6. http://home.earthlink.net/~ckadushin/Texts/Basic%20Network%20Concepts.pdf never use FB in my life. Not sure if you can import your contact list from your email client(outlook). It could be people you email before. Or they might be mining data from gmail/yahoo if that's what you registered with. All your privacy/contact is up for sale for the right price. -- David
  7. for food: I like that show man vs food. It look really good; maybe u can find that eposide online http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Man_v_Food/ci.St._Louis.show?vgnextfmt=show stuff to do: http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/United_States_of_America/Missouri/Saint_Louis-818283/Things_To_Do-Saint_Louis-TG-C-1.html hopefully some local might chime in. Last time I was there; just saw the arch and a baseball game.
  8. TheTruth: I feel for you friend. I am no lawyer but Arrest != conviction? I can be arrest for many thing. If I am not convicted; there should be no record. Once in a traffic stop I got 5 tickets(my car got stolen; so I bought a new used car but didn't have all the paper work with me at the time). I got all of them throw out. My insurance didn't go up. I don't think it's legal for company to make hire decision based on arresting record. All the job application can ask is that have you been convicted of any crime? Otherwise it's consider document harrasment. It could be a state thing I guess... despite the so call separation of power. police == law enforcement judge == decided if you violated the law state congress == law maker -- David Anyway Good Job Fin/Bomber!!! This happen near my work: stole $338,000 in aluminum http://www.newsday.com/long-island/nassau/cops-workers-stole-338-000-in-aluminum-1.1334609 Economy is indeed in a down turn.... Crime rate is up.
  9. Ken: Nice design!!! That's my fear/concern. If it's just a snowboard then I won't give it a custom topsheet :) It meant a little bit more than just a piece of sporting equipment to me. I almost treat it like a sport car with custom paint job. A nice paint job is cool but is it worth the hassel to deal with parking lot ding. or lift line scratchs. All my boards are all scratch to hell and back. Thank you for the reality check those are the type of feed back I am looking for. Positive or negative. Thanks -- David
  10. That's an excellent idea!!! Something from the home town. Please do keep us posted on the secret topsheet when it's all said and done. Thank you for the infomation on donek as a source of top sheet supplier. -- David
  11. Thank you for the explaintion!!! I went from Madd 168 BX to Donek 180 GS and the shorter length is much better for me on the East coast. It's crazy what 12 cm difference make... on the other hand On my soft setup I go between 169 and 161 and I don't feel as much differnce overall. There are definately differnence shorter length: I can survie the bumps/tree better. Longer length: a bit more stable at speed; more work to swing it around in bump/tree. -- David
  12. Thanks Ace!!! Always stoke to hear how everyone love their board. All I know is that 18cm waist suck in 7 feet of powder. Probably just because my own ability.... -- David
  13. Greg: Soung like a great choice!! Any reason for going 173? The default is 168 I think. Bruce suggest me going to 173 cause I weight 220+lb. Ace: Did u ever tried the X4 in deep powder? I know you love that pointy thing :) I wonder how it perform in the deep stuff. It's not like we have to worry much about that :) www.oldsnowboards.com: thx for the link!!! Steve is the man This topsheet has warped my fragile little mind.
  14. Thanks all. Glad to see I am not the only one. What are the spec of your coiler on order? I am torn between the Stubby/Chubbie/VSR GeoffV's got the M-spec I am suprise Jack's safari didn't show up yet :) I meet you guys at the ECES 2008. You guys rip!!! The alice top sheet have been save to my HD for a long time. Steve does amazing job. One of my biggest problem is to come up with a theme. I am thinking something from futurma: It's got metal in it :) Greg: I am with you man... that thought have cross my mind many time. Keep it simple. I am afraid what I would do if a brand new custom top sheet got nick at the lift line. I know it's just a snowboard; I probably won't result in physical violence however I think my day will be ruied when it does happen. powdahbonz: Good find man!!! Thanks for sharing. Please do keep us in the loop on what you decided. Keep it coming guys!!! David
  15. Hope every one is doing well in the summer. I am usualy more a funtion over form kinda of guy but I will be getting my first custom coiler and are looking for some idea for top sheet. I guess the the kid in me that like cool sticker on my big wheel is still alive and kicking. Is there a topsheet material that's more durable? I don't mind going with a flat black topsheet if it's super durable. If all the topsheet are pretty much the same in term of durability then I am thinking to get something more aesthetic pleasing. Please indicated if you don't mind other borrowing/sharing your design or you perfer to remain uniqe. :) some said Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery. We had couple nice threads on the same topic however due to forum issue that's not dispaly file attachment properly it render them much harder to show off. If you want send me the image via email. I will upload them and attach in the thread via img tag. I guess I am not the only one; first google hit: http://forum.deviantart.com/jobs/offers/1203083/ Seems like a cool website you can farm out your design. I think there are couple people on bomber that also design topsheet. I got couple questions for all those with custom topsheet: Any thing you would done differently? ex graphic placment as part of the design might be hidden under the binding? attract too much attention? How do you come up with a theme? I see the top sheet as an expression of one's hobby/passions/personal statement. I am having a tought time to come up with an idea. There are so many to choose from. How do you limitd to one? Thanks -- David
  16. JD/Enzo: Thank you for taking the time!!! It have help me tremendously. The choidce comes down to AM/Stubby Hybrid or the Chubbie. Is the progressive sidecut=VSR? How aggresive/forgiving is tail on the chubbie? Doe the "race board feel" require more skill to enjoy it? Would you recommend it for beginner? Team 32 video ROCK!!!! You guys making it look too easy. It's now my favorite summer video. :58-59 What do you call those jump turn while changing edge? Look like super fun!! Sorry for hijacking the thread just to redeem myself a little bit: My EDC was a 168 Madd BX but it die last season. Now it's a donek 180 GS. It's no fun in 6 feet of now :) but it does work well overall. Thanks David
  17. Nice Spec!!! I didn't know there is such beast is available in the line up. Can you please post a picture? How does it ride? How much do you weight if you don't mind me asking. Renewable material, efficeint cooling and heating seems to the primary theme for going green. soy based spray foam insulation diatomaceous earth in the wall to keep the bugs out. window facing south bamboo/cork floor tile native plants for garden I don't know how the rest of you deal with it. 24. If there is a chance that the date will change; maybe this rotating banner should be taken down for the time being? http://www.bomberonline.com/banners/3_SES.jpg ex. someone plan way ahead book the flight and hotel already. They might trying to get rebooking fee from Bomber if the date change. just trying to avoid potential hassle for all. or add some "lawyer talk" such as that the date is subject to change and blah blah.
  25. It's off topic but http://www.autoblog.com/photos/golf-ball-dimpled-lexus-ls460-l/2092520/ Lexus is using dimple on their car
