  1. From a noob freeride/freecarve's perspective(in term of td3 vs td3 race). How does it help? Is it softer/stiffer? Is it better suited for icey/rutter up condition? That's one of the few reason why I didn't jump on the TD3 even though I remember reading it that the "non-race" TD3 can be easiy adapted to become the race version. However the extra parts and tuning ability tend to confuse me more than help me. Thanks David
  2. I am aware the existence of the plate system but the infomation on them are far and few in between. It seems to be a product more gear toward racer. I havn't got a clue on how it will work for the non-racer rider. It's nice to see Bomber/Fin take the time explain what the plate system actully does. It's strengh, weakness, possibility on how to improve on the product and etc. For certain thing be it snowboard or car good for racing == good for everyday application For cetrain thing it might be the case F1 engine rev to the moon; which is great for going 200+mph not so great for duribility. Metal top sheet is great for what it's design to do(from what i read); but for the non racer I don't want to buy couple same board every season. Now the metal board have trickle down to the user level and it's getting rave review. It will take some time for racing technology translated to vialbe consumer product. This is exciting for me as I am always looking for the next "handicap" or "enabler" to make up for lack of talent. It's alos super cool to see something being made from raw material to finished product. I don't know any snowboard racer, so i don't have any first experience on the plate system that's currently available on the market. Bomber forum have not yet steer me wrong yet. I might sounds like a kiss ass; but if Bomber put out a product; it's a fine design, work well and worth the money to feed my addiction. Which can explain why so many is willing to buy. If the product is good; one shouldn't have problem selling it. Just my 2 cents David
  3. wow; someone contact discovery channel/TLC I smell a new hit show "American Snowboard Plate binding Maker" we can leave the show name to the marketing dept. so cool. It sounds like this product would be more gear toward racer type of riding? I would love to hear feedback from racer and recreation rider.
  4. happy fun ball!!!! http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/happy-fun-ball/229058/
  5. the only sucky part is me as the rider :) me suck blame board get new board still suck blame boots get new boots still suck blame binding get new binding still suck maybe this thing will make me a better snowboarder :D
  6. very nice!!! the middle bar would be fitted with springs like the BTS; so it can be tune to the flex/damping desired? instead of spring maybe some sort of coilover? or something similar to GM's magnetic ride control :) every one will need to carry a 12v battery but it's worth it. or Head's CHIP techonlogy Thank you for keeping us in the loop. I would think such a system be it vist/Hangle /BHFP. To get the most out of system; the snowboard maker will need to made/design for it Is there a particular board maker you are working with on this project? To save even more weight; maybe a fusion of the TD3/BHFP? Seems like one can elimated some part if you don't need to design it to work with all plate binding system out there. Thanks again!!! 7. That's interesting point about plateau. on softboots i can surive most any trail(very ugly but make it down). On hardboot i am lucky if i get down a diamond run in one piece. isn't that's why we ride steeper and steeper stuff? constant push myself out the comfort zone in snowboarding is what's fun for me. reading some of the threads about how ppl can pass level 3 certification in HB is just jaw dropping. There are so many stuff to work on bumps/tress/switch i guess plateau is created by individual? It's probably due to my lack of talent; seems to me it does take longer and more dedication to get to the next level.
  8. while searching: came across this thread: http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=211376
  9. Isn't the highend burton borad have metal in them? ie the burton T6 and the vapor anyone have thoughts on using T6/vapor/super model as softboot free ride? product desc: Alumafly Core The Alumafly core is 90% air by volume and represents the perfect union of high-grade aerospace technology and EGD". The 3D® profiled tip-to-tail aluminum honeycomb construction combines engineered performance and strength in an ultra-lightweight core that provides a snappy, non-organic ride as a high-performance alternative to wood cores.

  11. Sounds like all the stuff you want to do can be done on window machine. Doesn't seems like there is a reason that you have to go mac. if you are pretty good with computer You can give osx86/hackintosh a tried. If you like it and it meet your need then take the plunge. -- David
  12. weight isn't a good indicaiton on ur health. 6 pack doesn't == your cardio system are in good order. i snowboard in winter row/hiking/bike in the warmer climate used to kendo year around; which i found to be excellent exercise for the mind and body. go the gym pretty religously. not because i want to look good. it's so i can do the things i like to do. i have rest pulse of 55; but still look like pillsbury doughboy... hey just more of me to love :)
  13. Got about 27 days in this season. Not 100% sure on the total veritcal feet. 14. Just got back from Lake Tahoe. Didn't know there is such thing as too much powder... :) Wed Mar 4 2009 I was @ Apline Meadow They must have gotten 6+ feets of snow for the storm. Plus the day before they are closed... Poor me was on the 18cm waist donek 180 gs. I did ok with it couple day before at Heavenly and Sierra with 1 or 2 feet of heavy snow. First couple runs made me just want to quit... This deep stuff is no joke. Every couple of turn puff, man down and I am half bury. I should change my screen name lol... I stuck it out, with my back leg burring... and still have a great time. I did kissed some hardpack/groomer snow the next day @ Squaw valley. Sinecure: I wish I check bomber when I was @ lake tahoe!!! I would def take you up on the offer. Sorry to have missed you. I did meet a women on alpine gear that day name Alex? Enjoy the snow!!! I know I did. -- David

  20. I think it's going to be a crap shoot. No one can guarantee the condition. However this year have been good on the North East. Went to Stratton the past 2 years late March and it's just EPIC!!! However there are some years where late March is Here is where our ski club usually stay when we go to Okemo. Thanks David
  21. My personal experiment with higher angle. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=23458 In my mind it made tons of sense and I went back lower angle and it's much much better. My guess if your technique is perfect. Then the angle matter less. For newbie like me; every little thing help like training wheel. ie I need the little extra leverage from lower angle as oppse to some one can compensate higher angle with angulation and what have you. Just my very humble opinion. -- David
  22. actully it's not that bad. I did the same exact thing last ECES. Sean from starting gate set me up nicely. Drive from NY 95-91-exit 2 to stratton/starting gate then took some local road to near killington and jump on the interstate to Stowe. -- David
  23. need a new selection for me: Encounter 1: skier: Hey you are on hardboot alpine board; how come your elbow are not dragging snow like all the other people? me: silence :( Riding with my friend: me: hey how does my carve look? friend: look liked you are riding a regular snowboard me: @#%#$^#$^ On the good note that Our beloved sports must be getting popular :)
  24. Thanks John!!! The store I worked for do carry Dalbello. I will definately tried them on for fit. Just out of curiosity; What would the Head SP snowboard ( Harbboot snowboard boot in general) flex index would be? It would be nice to have a universal system to based on and do comparsion accrodingly. -- David
