  1. Bummer about Stratton. Sounds like the rain held off for the most part further north though. Haven't gotten enough use out of my pass this year, so I'm just going to go and hope for the best.
  2. I'm planning a New England Ikon working road trip next week. Riding in the mornings & working in the afternoon/evening. Last season was my first back on snow after a decade off, so I haven't been anywhere in New England other than Wachusett in ages. Would love suggestions for the best mountains and/or trails for carving (from among the Ikon group: Stratton, Killington, Sugarbush, Loon, Sunday River, Sugarloaf). Or, better yet would love to meet up with other carvers to ride. My schedule is flexible, so I can work my days around when others are available.

  6. Huh, that's interesting. I had them set at ~9cm and still found them to be quite soft. Thinking about going back to the stock springs on my front boot, in fact. For the heck of it, I backed them out to 10.5cm and there's no preload at all. Are there different versions?
  7. Yeah, I got that step. Not sure how you'd even get the stock adjuster off without removing the cuff. The step I missed is snugging up the top nut and washer, I think that helps to keep the bolt head better aligned with the slot in the cuff. Still needed a hammer though. No way I was pushing it into place with just a screwdriver as shown in that video.
  8. Thanks, gave it a few more whacks and they seated into place. Guess I was thought hammering metal into plastic required a more ginger touch.
  9. Anyone have the install instructions for the DGSS kit in UPZ boots? Picked up a kit second hand and am struggling to get it seated in the slot of the boot cuff. Only wants to slide in halfway, despite a few good whacks with a hammer and punch.
  10. a) Male b) 172cm c) 80cm d) 54cm e) 55º/55º f) 4.9º toe lift (3.4º inward cant), 3º heel lift g) UPZ boots
  11. I ride 55º front and back. Feels comfortable to me. Not that I'm any kind of sage.
  12. I thought my local hill had a sophisticated snow-making program... That's next level.
  13. Any chance you’ll have a few extra boards at the event for the skwal-curious?
  14. Well, gloves showed up in the mail today. Still wonder about his communication, but at least I've got what I ordered.
  15. Anyone heard from John at Thor recently? I ordered a pair of gloves back at the beginning of December. He emailed me the next day to say that he was out of town until 12/31 but would get them sent out when he got back. No gloves yet so I emailed him last week to see what was up, no response. Just tried calling the office number that was on my PayPal receipt, but it's out of service.
  16. Especially when they’re in packs. I got dive-bombed by half a dozen of them the other day. Had no choice but to pull up in the middle of the trail and I still nearly got taken out.
  17. I had a compact sedan rental last year and had no issues at all.
  18. Pretty sure the average shoe size in Japan and Korea is a good bit smaller than in the US and Canada. Just catering to their local market?
  19. Interested, depending on price.
  20. I'll take the Fintecs if you decide to part those boots out.
  21. Still for sale. Any takers?
  22. Any idea if those are thermoflex or standard liners?
  23. Think it's finally time to let go of this board. Picked this up from someone on the Bomber forum back in the day. I don't know a ton about its history, other than that it was a prototype board, hence no graphics. It might only be good as wall art at this point, but I've been riding it up until recently, so perhaps it has a bit of life left. It's been ground many times (mostly prior to me owning it), so the base is very thin and the inserts are starting to show through in a couple of spots. There's a coat of storage wax on it in the photos, but the base is pretty clean otherwise. Edges are thin, but serviceable, with no dents or dings. One of the rear inserts is partially stripped, but I used a slightly longer screw in that position and was still able to get 4-5 turns of engagement. There's a little nick in the nose, with a slight bubble in the topsheet opposite, but it hasn't spread in the 15 years I've owned it. Asking $200+shipping. 24. @Eboot is being very generous. I managed a 180 carve followed by a 180 spin, at best. Something to work on though!
  25. I'm getting ready to plunk down for next season's Ikon pass and was going to go for the Base Plus Pass so I could visit Aspen, but this thread has me questioning. Are things that bad Aspen isn't even worth the visit?
