  1. This is the quote I meant to reference. So, anyone else want to join in?
  2. I had a pair of Alpinas in the mid 90's, I think they were called "Top Rat". They were very neon pink and green and ended up with shell cracks in many places. I think Damien Sanders was one of their sponsored riders. They also made my feet hurt.
  3. You might want to specify which Crystal Mtn.
  4. Zane's Tavern, 40 cent wings during happy hour. Really good green chili stew also.
  5. The real snow isn't coming until you're at SES.
  6. I'll be there tomorrow morning with my wife. Red jacket, grey helmet. let's make some turns.
  7. I was up this morning, saw Mike T. as well. Really good groomers until about 11am when it hit 52 degrees. Then it got a bit choppy. No crowds though, hopefully going back Thursday and Friday.
  8. Anke, let me know if any of those stance adjustments help. Good luck.
  9. It was cold. I offered a couple of kids some candy to lick the chairlift pole. I love cheap entertainment.
  10. The Ridge Rocks! Best carving in WA state. Lots of sunshine and a really interesting layout. PSIA NW moved their headquarters to Wenatchee from Seattle, they were probably done with skiing in the rain.
  11. I might be able to help you out Tuesday afternoon. I'll know for sure tomorrow. I've taught a few carving lessons. Looking like wind chill value of -25 that day, maybe that will scare some people off of the runs.
  12. I'm in for 2/20-2/22, I am arranging daycare. Surprisingly good early season so far.
  13. Yes, February is good. Just come up with a date and I'll be there. BTW it is dumping right now.

  15. Here's one http://www.the-house.com/9847f2gi6zz-f2-gipsy.html
  16. Some of my most entertaining lessons started with the student saying, "my ex-boyfriend tried to teach me". I had one "my ex-husband tried to teach me" which I asked about, and yes, it was one of the reasons for divorce. There were a lot of, "my friends took me to the top and I had to walk down".
  17. Before he even straps in, teach him how to fall without breaking his wrist. Then buckle both feet in in a flat zone and push him over. If he can get back up, push him over the other way. If he questions you, point to all of the skiers on the slopes standing still and all of the snowboarders on the ground. Then make him hike up and down with one foot out, skating until he is worn out.

  19. I think that Big Sky is on par with Aspen for carving. Super wide groomers, no crowds and plenty of sunshine. I think the town of Gallatin is about 7 miles away, you might want to look into rentals there. However, Bozeman has a lot more going on and being a college town, would have a lot more rental choices. I subscribed to the local paper for about a year after I went to Big Sky and was considering a move there.
  20. http://boostedboards.com/videos/ These are much more reasonably priced, only $2,000.00. I dream of carving uphill.
  21. I used the VRBO site last year and got a studio condo with a kitchen, for about $150 a night. It was about a block from city market (I think that's the name of the grocery store) and about 4 blocks from the base of Aspen/bus lines.
  22. My favorite Nitro was the EFT (Earth Freedom Tranquility) Asym 169, until I took it in the bumps and dislocated my shoulder. Then I switched to the Amero 164 which broke when I landed an accidental 180, 4 days before the warranty expired. Nitro let me come to the distributor in Seattle and pick out a replacement. I think in the early 90's they had the carving boards dialed while Burton was focusing more on racing sticks.
