  1. Friday's forecast is calling for sunshine!! I recall the Strawberry side being a great rolling groomed blue serviced by 6 or 8 seat high-speed gons.

  4. "The guy in the white pants with black knee patches expresses is perfectly it in a pure fluid fun & clean intuitive style. ;)" = Mike Doyle is the rider; same man at times wearing a red jacket. "Hey, is that a real Maverick that one of the guys rides, or a maskaraded Coiler?" = Joey Cabell riding an original "Woody" Pure Carve Maverick
  5. Get in touch with me early next season and I will spend some time with you @ Pine Knob. Do not get in rush to be on the hill during the first few opening days as the conditions are usually not prime time for carving and too many people on just a few runs. If I go out on opening day, it is on skis just to check the conditions; thin coverage and variable snow/ice is to be expected. Curious on your build for the 185 FC you are riding; just how tall are you and how much do you weigh? Maybe we should find you a shorter used board for you to cut your teeth on? Heel fast!
  6. For those who fly into DEN. Alamo is the current low cost provider out of DEN and you can book now for 2011 with no money down and no cancellation fee should you decide to cancel; so long as you do not prepay. So will the SES dates be Feb 11 - Feb 18th? President's day is Feb 21, 2011.
  7. Good hill for you locally would be Pine Knob's "Quarter Mile". Straight fall line. Sat will be a bit busy but 9:00 a.m. Sunday should be wide open at least for the first hour. I may be out there, but if so on skis :-( Shot me an e-mail and I can arrange to give you some solid pointers.

  9. http://www.skicoupons.com/regions.cfm/r/9 Ernie, Ski Cooper may be worth checking out & there is a $10 off weekday offer within the above link. might be helpful to call the day before to find out what the plan to groom for the next day. A friend went there a few weeks ago and they had groomed just one green run so he decided to try some other day. If Summit is too crowded on the weekend then take a drive over to B'Milk. Ride safe!

  19. See POLISHING edges: http://www.tognar.com/deburr_tips_edge_polish_repais_ski_snowboard.html I have my boards ground to establish a flat base and to set base and edge angles (0.5* base / 2* side). From that point on it's a maintenance detail for the side edges only for me. I use a file guide and along with a set of progressive diamond stone files from course to super fine and then finish off with an Arkansas wet stone. The first pass with a course stone will report any nicks or roughness. All stones are dipped in water prior to use and rinsed from one side to the other. Take a paper towel along the edges after each progression.
