tenguspengus
I will be new to the Montucky Clear Cut this year. Dropping in from the US North East. For people like myself, brand new to the MCC experience, I found this post from 2022 to be invaluable. I want to make sure new folks see it. Corey
Best advice for this and any event: Say "Hi, I'm NAME, I'm new and confused/lost/whatever. Can you help me?" Most people will do anything they can to help. Some are pricks, but then you know who you don't need to get to know better. Move on to the next person and try again.
DMKW
I joined the mcc in 2022 for the first time. It's a solid 12-13 hours travel time for me, and I really did wonder what the heck I was getting myself into as I hurtled across eastern Washington in the middle of the night. And unfortunately I only was able to stay for half of the event due to an injury, BUT I found it to be the most welcoming bunch of people. No doubt there are a couple jerks here and there, but I had just the best time: great riding, helpful clinics, and lovely people. Even the staff at the hospital were super friendly, though I'd prefer not to cross paths with them this time round! So to sum up my over long post... @Corey's advice is exactly right.
Jcar
Hey Everyone, just a friendly reminder. If your traveling by air to MCC, be advised that all airlines consider skis/snowboards FRAGILE items and waive themselves of all responsibility from damage while in their possession. I found this out the hard way after Alaskan Air fatally damaged two of my boards while in a padded Dakine wheelie bag. Total loss!!! I found a company called World Nomads that specialises in travel insurance for action sport travelers like us! Their Explorer plan $105 covers $3000 in lost or damaged equipment (ski/snowboards included). Plus a ton of other things are covered, delays , cancellations, etc. I’ve been using them every year since! Protect those babies!! If you have any other travel recommendations please share OH YEAH!!! Carry on those boots!! Bindings and Boards can be scrounged once at the event!
SunSurfer
Sportubes make it hard for even Sydney Australia baggage handlers to trash your stuff. 3 models, I have an orange Series 2.
Dan
So...this is kind of a weird question, but since Turner is a 501(c)3, is the cost of MCC tax deductible?

I do not believe so, but a good question for your personal tax professional.
Pusbag
Every vacation is tax deductible all business guys do this, all that is needed is to talk about business. The discussion then makes the trip a business trip because you are conducting business. Just find someone to chat shop with and right off the whole trip. Heck I will even volunteer
