Jack is the man.

A little panic there but looks like we are good.

What you guys did not see is Jack working some major hours on this to get it back going. I think he stretched the limits of his "free time" at his job.

Huge thank you to Jack from all of us at Bomber-Land.

So where did the broken TD3 thread go? You know, the one that showed up juuuuuuuuuust before the board crashed?

Seriously Unicorn Poop? We just spent the last 6 days in a panic trying to save a corrupted data base and 10+ years of posting, Jack used up all his free time at work and probably has more hours in this than anyone, I have a dozens of calls and e-mails to our host company, we are flooded with e-mails from people wondering what is up, significantly slow down traffic on our website for close to week, and just general stress by all on the back-end trying to make this work for the past 6 days. And you are claiming this is so we can wipe out a thread about our binding having an issue?

We had to finally just do a mass back-up of the entire site to get it back working. This meant we lost about 1-2 days of ALL posts before this all happened.

Or maybe I am not understanding your post and I am off base here. Are you serious on this accusation?

Yeah so that was a major PITA. Tried to re-install the forum to fix the various annoying issues and somehow it corrupted the database. Fortunately I had taken a backup of the db before doing anything, but it is 2.4 GB and residing on my home computer. I couldn't upload it back to the server due to space limitations, so we had to have the hosting company do a restore from March 10. Sorry for any inconvenience, but as Han Solo once said, "It's not my fault!!" I won't be surprised if the issues we were trying to fix are still present, but after all that headache I need to tap out. Thanks for your patience!

Jack,

Thanks for your technical efforts. Fin, thanks for providing us a forum to coordinate, educate and enjoy our sport.

Hey, your words... not mine. However, the lady doth protest too much, methinks.

So if I understand what you are implying:

- There was not issue with the database

- Jack and I and all the mods here are lying

- We planned this

- The conspiracy here was to do all this to delete one thread because we did not like it

Have I got your accusation here correct ma-lady?

Uh, if they were going to stoop that low, I think there are less disruptive approaches, like deleting threads and banning members. Nuking the whole forum for almost a week seems a little like doing things the hard / conspicuous way, don't you think?

First off, if you're going to call me names, at least throw me the courtesy of getting it right. It's m'lady.

Second, I was inquiring about a thread I had a particular interest in because I've been on the fence about the SW SI's (I have three boards that need bindings), and wanted to see how the issue was handled. Rather than simply reply with the one line you edited in, which would have sufficed aplenty, you tried to paint me into a corner.

Furthermore, I have posted on this board in the past regarding a durability concern that came to mind and rather than an answer (even anecdotal would have worked) or a suggestion to use the search function, I had my throat jumped down like I was on some witch hunt or just here to say, "LOL OMGZ BOMBER SUKS MA DIX!" I kind of let it go because those weren't from employees/ owners of Bomber, but it had me wondering why everyone was so defensive. Fast forward to today and once again, I make an inquiry- not an accusation- and this time THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY CALLS ME NAMES! Seriously, Fin? A conspiracy was never on my mind until you alluded to such. Now I'm genuinely curious since you brought it up.

Regardless, I've made my mind up about the Bomber products. If the owner of the company will jump on a potential customer in such an aggressive manner over a simple question, I feel that I should probably stick with F2's. Lord knows what kind of response I'd get IF there ever was an issue with my Bombers. Grow up Fin.

To everyone else up my butt about asking a question- bugger off. You guys do this every time someone questions the product. Questions are asked by those uninformed on a quest to become informed. It's your duty as the all- knowing gods of angulation to help those lesser souls down the path of enlightenment. You all preach helping noobs and furthering the sport, but I don't see that going on here, especially when the crusade is lead by the owner of a company that caters to the sport. Class act, the lot of you.

Perhaps you would be interested in reposting your question (concern) again and as long as it's intention is to educate I am sure you will receive helpful input. I know from personal experience how thankless it can sometimes be to constantly having to explain things to people who are intent on not receiving the information in the manner or tone it is intended. This is a very civilized forum something most of us appreciate. It would be too bad for all concerned if any issues you or anyone else had could not be resolved by discussing it here in an open forum. Witt, sarcasm or simply joking around is sometimes lost on some people especially if they don't or haven't known you for long. The stress of working to restore the forum for days on end might have put extra meaning in some of the language as well. Lets back up a few weeks and try again. OR I CAN JUST BUGGER OFF TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:biggthump

Rather than simply reply with the one line you edited in, which would have sufficed aplenty, you tried to paint me into a corner.

Then that should have been your response. I asked you, in public, to please explain what you were insinuating. The second response I got from you was one line saying “Your words, not mine”. Again, you missed an opportunity to explain, like an adult, what you thought had happened. I gave you two opportunities to “un-paint” that corner, and you chose not to take those opportunities.

UP:

Furthermore, I have posted on this board in the past regarding a durability concern that came to mind and rather than an answer (even anecdotal would have worked) or a suggestion to use the search function, I had my throat jumped down like I was on some witch hunt or just here to say, "LOL OMGZ BOMBER SUKS MA DIX!" Does starting your inquirer with “So where did the broken TD3 thread go? You know, the one that showed up juuuuuuuuuust before the board crashed?” and then when I ask you to explain you respond with “Hey, your words... not mine.” Does this seem like an innocent and reasonable way to ask what is going on? Let me help you here, try this:

“Hey, it looks like a bunch of threads went missing since we came back. What’s the deal?”.

Or send me an e-mail asking what happened or even ask me about the TD3 itself.

Or call me at 1-970-513-7733

But I guess that bell has rung.

UP:

- and this time THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY CALLS ME NAMES! Seriously, Fin? A conspiracy was never on my mind until you alluded to such. Now I'm genuinely curious since you brought it up.

Not calling you names, just sticking to your middle-ages theme. Now as far as people jumping down others’ throats when you accuse them of using crappy gear, that happens here all the time with all manufacturers. You post something about you think Coiler or Donek or company X sucks, you will get a strong response. I would suggest getting a thicker skin and realize people have opinions and they might not match yours. And now you believe we are controlling these people and their opinions? I am not even sure how to answer that.

UP:

Regardless, I've made my mind up about the Bomber products. If the owner of the company will jump on a potential customer in such an aggressive manner over a simple question, I feel that I should probably stick with F2's. Lord knows what kind of response I'd get IF there ever was an issue with my Bombers. Grow up Fin.

I am more than happy to answer any questions or concerns about my products. Ask here, phone me, e-mail me, etc. As long as it is asked in a civil and constructive manner. Heck, put up a thread called “Any one have issues with their TD3 Bindings?”. Dang, even I would like to read that one. If you think accusing the owner of the forum over missing threads is asking a “simple question” then I can’t help you. I am certainly one to realize even my products are not perfect and it is important to get feedback. Also, it is even MORE important that I do not abuse the forum and delete or edit anything here that could be considered negative towards my products or company. We have held that line since we started this forum back in 1999. The poster who put up the original post about the issues with the TD3 is more than welcome to repost it. And unless we get another database crash, it will stay up.

Now where I DO draw the line is someone making unbacked accusations about me, my company, and my employees. And when I give them several opportunities to explain and see if I am just misunderstanding, and they take those opportunities to further their accusation, well then it is time for ….the bar analogy.

Every few years, this happens. We get a member who seems to forget how a forum works. And the best way to remember is think of a forum as a bar. Inside that bar are several discussions going on at any given time. You can jump in and participate, stand at the table and only listen, or even just get up and leave. But if you start screaming at the top of your lungs, or start attacking other customer, there is a very good chance the owner is going to ask you to settle down or leave. That is right, there is an owner of every bar and that owner can choose who they will serve. And if, as in your case, you tell the bar owner (me) he is a liar and needs to “grow up”, his employees are liars (Jack and Mods), their bar stinks (BomberOnline), and then when other patrons ask you to settled down you turn to them and yell “bugger off”, how shocked are you when that owner asks you to leave?

So, in the theme of a virtual bar, this is me walking you to the door,

This is me opening the door,

This is me putting you outside,

This is me closing the door.

And as the owner of this Irish Bar, owned by an Irishman, on St. Patrick’s Day….Pogue Mahone.

Nice fart in church!

I don't think you know anyone here very well. At least not well enough to say something like that. Perhaps a snarky teenage girl stole your account?

To everyone else, you are most welcome. Steve, thanks, it was a blast.

To U.P.:

Your first post really looked like you were implying a conspiracy was afoot.

Fin asked if that was what you meant.

You responded, and in so many words said yes.

You cannot possibly blame Fin or anyone else for interpreting it that way.

Ignoring any implications: Why not just re-post it for those of us without a photographic memory?

Bomber has a 5-year warranty on their bindings too.
