west carven Posted January 27, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 27, 2014 howdy all didn't look so good in the morning, but as the mountain opened the fog cleared and we had super high clouds. vis was good and the groomers was really good. the wind started about 1pm and slowly got stronger and colder and the temps was droping fast as it made the snow icier. another fun day with the gang, day two, great carving. rode the 165amt from 9 till 4... west carven Posted January 29, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 29, 2014 howdy all started the day with high dark overcast and very humid and the snow was wet hardpack that gets skied off into cornballs. it felt cold, but it was the wet humid cold. groomers wasn't in the best condition. yesterday was so good and we rode hard and today wasn't feeling it. cuban went to lunch and i was going to do a few more laps then ran into shred and got inspired to ride a little more and ended up shutting the place down. the "ice cutter" lived up to it's name, day four of wtf. forcast is a little snow tomorrow then more in the evening into thursday. got powder board? rode the 164proton from 9 till 4... I'll be leaving for SES tomorrow and just hope I can tie my shoes by Saturday. west carven Posted January 30, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 30, 2014 howdy all met mark and heyden on the snow bus this morning fresh off the train, two more for the wtf14 crew. there was over an inch here in town and snowing hard all day. there was over two inches over groom first thing on ed's run and by the end of the day there was huge piles all bumped up. it was easy to carve the first few hours then got harder as the snow got chewed up. it was fun to just stay on top and cruise around. forcast is more snow tomorrow. i think i'll bring the softies and play in the trees. sorry for the powder on this carve week. rode the 165amt from 9 till 3... Perfect groom fog with rime. Perfect groom with sun. Overcast with good(for here) visibility with chunky marbles. Tomorrow is another day we will see. west carven Posted January 31, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 31, 2014 howdy all a wild morning with very strong cold wind coming from the north. the snow last night all got blown off the runs and deposited on the south facing side. firm ice exposed and soft deposits of snow, a very challenging day. the wind blew hard all morning then by 1pm slows down a little and felt a little warmer. it was busy for a thursday, i guess eveyone thought it was going to be good after yesterdays powder. the lines were long in the morning, but thined out fast as the cold was just too much. finally after the wtf crew left and i stayed and conditions got a little warmer. i found a good run and made laps till the end of the day at 4pm. mark and heyden i hope your train was on time, sorry for the pow fest and cold temps. it was nice to ride with you guys. tomorrow might be soft groomers, we'll see. day six of wtf. rode the amp5 from 9 till 4... west carven Posted February 2, 2014 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2014 howdy all post wtf14 rub-in. mostly sunny in the early morning, super high clouds that slowly builds and lighting got flat about 1pm then fog on the very top and slowly gets thicker with very lite snow that builds to lite snow by the end of the day. groomers was really good, "you guys should have been here!" it was firm in the morning and got better as the day went on. it was cold and it kept the snow good all day. it was nice to ride at my own pace as it keeps my body temp just right. took me awhile to get my legs then pushed hard till 5pm. today was awesome! rode the 165amt from 9 till 5...
