perfect, perfect, perfect, after last night colder temps near zero degrees

and second day pressing of saturdays pow, today's mostly sunny day was

the best carving day of the season so far. all the groomers on the frontside

was at its best and rode good all day with the lite crowds. the sun was out

most of the day and sometimes filtered thru super high thin clouds so vis

was good all day. it was cold in the morning even with an extra layer then

by noontime it got a little warm. groomers was firm and squeaky grippy and

when skied off only light powder sugar. tomorrow should be just as good if

it doesn't snow, but it looks like something is coming in on the radar.

it was an awesome day...

worked in the morning, got on snow after 1pm and it was bumped up

into huge piles. snowing, foggy, humid and heard it was rimey in the

morning. good creamy powder and i bet it was good early on. tried a

new to me jja 156bx with hardboots and it was tough going thru the

huge piles. made 3 runs on ed's and called it. it would have been hard

on any carving board, softies would have been better. forcast for the

next few days is more pow then a warm up on saturday.

worked a few hours in the morning then up to the big. it was bumped up,

but really good creamy pow that was super fun and there was still some

untracked stuff if you looked around. went to places that i normally don't

go and and had so much fun exploring, just like the old days. really good

creamy, surfy pow that was good all day. there was a good wind from the

northwest and was cold on top and was a little warm down low. forcast is

a few days of warm temps and more snow/rain.

it was a warm calm wet dark dreary morning as the thick fog hung low

near the base lodge. the light drizzle fell down low and light snow up high.

there was about 5 inches of heavy snow that had alot of moisture in it.

it was good in the morning then got chopped up slushy by noontime and

i was soaked. the wind blew from the southwest and you couldn't feel it

on the chair ride up, but it blew hard on the way down. there was alot of

wind drifts that bumped you in the thick fog. still it was a great day and

had some heavy untracked pow runs.

it was wet in the morning here in town and even at the baselodge. i was

wondering how long i would be up riding, but it turned out to be a great

groomer day that stayed good all day with lite crowds. flat lighting till 2pm

then the sun comes out. the wind blew really hard all day from the west.

temps was comfortable even with the high winds. a great carving day.

forcast for tomorrow is the same, more warm temps with wind.

Shame about the guy who died in the tree well yesterday. Guess it's really deep in the trees right now.

Hold some of that groom for us ... less than two weeks now, can't wait. I'll be bringing one of my best girlfriends with me this time, so I expect you guys to all behave, and show her a good time. :)

the sun made a brief appearance in the morning then mostly flat lighting

and by 2pm fog/cloud level just above bench run. a little colder than

yesterday and not much wind. groomers was very firm, but very carveable.

it got better as the day went on as the snow softened up a bit. i planned

to stay all day, but couldn't and only made it to 3pm. it was another good

carving day and pushed hard.

Allee.... what days are you going to be riding? I wasn't really planning on going, but maybe I could swing it one day.... long drive though for one day! If I don't end up going, any locals might be able to do me a favor? Last year I loaned a board and I need to get it back at some point. Yes, Allee... the Hot Blast!

it has not snowed since saturday and it has been warmer with blue sky

sunshine this past few days. groomers are getting buffed out smooth.

i worked in the morning and got on snow after 1pm and it was still good

groomers. temps have been very spring like and it should continue for

another week with no new snow in the forcast. its friday so its night

skiing so stayed till 5pm and it was cooling down fast and the little

bumps started to set-up, it was time to leave. rode the 156bx with

hardboots and it was hard at first, but got used to it and pushed it.

fun board, but takes alot out of me to make tight turns all day.

got up this morning feeling pooped from riding yesterday, good thing

cause it was so busy as everyone on the groomers cause there is no new

snow and the off piste is hardpack. so took it easy and just putted around

and enjoyed a beautiful bluebird day. almost got hit by a skier so took it

easy even more. the right half of ed's had a junior olympics qualifiers race.

snow was icy firm in the morning then got skied off into cornballs, it's feeling

like spring. looks like something is coming in on the radar, but forcast is

more warm temps all week.

another fine montana bluebird day, groomers are getting a little polished.

great carving all day, a bit icy in the morning, some spots gets skied off

into cornballs and some gets scraped polished ice, but mostly it's good.

ptarmigan bowl wasn't groomed last night, but it was still very carveable.

wasn't too crowded being mlk day. it was sunny all day, but it didn't

break down into slush and temps are comfortable. first day on a used

new to me oxygen 164 proton, got it after three runs then had a blast.

it worked great on the icy conditions, i will call it the ice cutter...

another fun day...

doom and gloom here in town, valley inversions with thick clouds over

most of the valley. beautiful bluebird day from above ptarmigan village.

super good groomers, you guys should have been here, it stayed good

all day. got a little soft about 2:30 to 3:30 then started to firm up by

the end of the day at 4pm. i was pooped by lunch then got a second

wind and had a blast and could have done more. forcast is a little snow

and warmer temps by the weekend. came home and got a 159 rossi

half gun in the mail, it looks new and should be a wall hanger , so

beautiful. see you guys soon...

did not go up, but just to let you know i pulled a lot of strings to get

good snow conditions. i could have gone up wednesday but did not tho

i heard that there was four inches on the summit. i think thursday was

foggy all day. today might be good and saturday looks really good. a

high pressure off the coast may keep things good at least for a few days.

safe travels and see you guys soon...

it would be a foggy mess and it was, but went anyways. thick fog with

some somewhat clear areas thats moving about. make a few turns when

him yet. groomers are pretty good when you can see it. crowded at times

then not so much as everyone goes in to dry out. always in survival mode

making your way down. well, day one of WTF not the best. forcast is a

little snow sunday morning then monday a little cooler.
