west carven
howdy all perfect, perfect, perfect, after last night colder temps near zero degrees and second day pressing of saturdays pow, today's mostly sunny day was the best carving day of the season so far. all the groomers on the frontside was at its best and rode good all day with the lite crowds. the sun was out most of the day and sometimes filtered thru super high thin clouds so vis was good all day. it was cold in the morning even with an extra layer then by noontime it got a little warm. groomers was firm and squeaky grippy and when skied off only light powder sugar. tomorrow should be just as good if it doesn't snow, but it looks like something is coming in on the radar. it was an awesome day... rode the 176vsr m from 9 till 4... west carven
howdy all just like yesterday, but a bit firmer and super high clouds that was thicker and lighting got flat about 11 till 1pm then the sun comes out around 2pm when i left. really good firm snow for carving that stayed good all day. pushed it hard from opening bell and after all day the day before my old body couldn't take much more so called it at 2pm. and check out todays big mtn daily video... rode the 165amt from 9 till 2... west carven
howdy all worked in the morning, got on snow after 1pm and it was bumped up into huge piles. snowing, foggy, humid and heard it was rimey in the morning. good creamy powder and i bet it was good early on. tried a new to me jja 156bx with hardboots and it was tough going thru the huge piles. made 3 runs on ed's and called it. it would have been hard on any carving board, softies would have been better. forcast for the next few days is more pow then a warm up on saturday. rode the jja156bx from 1 till 2... west carven
howdy all worked a few hours in the morning then up to the big. it was bumped up, but really good creamy pow that was super fun and there was still some untracked stuff if you looked around. went to places that i normally don't go and and had so much fun exploring, just like the old days. really good creamy, surfy pow that was good all day. there was a good wind from the northwest and was cold on top and was a little warm down low. forcast is a few days of warm temps and more snow/rain. rode the amp5 from 12 till 4... west carven
howdy all it was a warm calm wet dark dreary morning as the thick fog hung low near the base lodge. the light drizzle fell down low and light snow up high. there was about 5 inches of heavy snow that had alot of moisture in it. it was good in the morning then got chopped up slushy by noontime and i was soaked. the wind blew from the southwest and you couldn't feel it on the chair ride up, but it blew hard on the way down. there was alot of wind drifts that bumped you in the thick fog. still it was a great day and had some heavy untracked pow runs. rode the amp5 from 9 till 12:30... west carven
howdy all it was wet in the morning here in town and even at the baselodge. i was wondering how long i would be up riding, but it turned out to be a great groomer day that stayed good all day with lite crowds. flat lighting till 2pm then the sun comes out. the wind blew really hard all day from the west. temps was comfortable even with the high winds. a great carving day. forcast for tomorrow is the same, more warm temps with wind. rode the 176vsr m from 9 till 4... Allee
Shame about the guy who died in the tree well yesterday. Guess it's really deep in the trees right now. Hold some of that groom for us ... less than two weeks now, can't wait. I'll be bringing one of my best girlfriends with me this time, so I expect you guys to all behave, and show her a good time. :)
west carven
howdy all the sun made a brief appearance in the morning then mostly flat lighting and by 2pm fog/cloud level just above bench run. a little colder than yesterday and not much wind. groomers was very firm, but very carveable. it got better as the day went on as the snow softened up a bit. i planned to stay all day, but couldn't and only made it to 3pm. it was another good carving day and pushed hard. rode the 171turnstub from 9 till 3... I wasn't really planning on going, but maybe I could swing it one day.... long drive though for one day! If I don't end up going, any locals might be able to do me a favor? west carven
howdy all got up this morning feeling pooped from riding yesterday, good thing cause it was so busy as everyone on the groomers cause there is no new snow and the off piste is hardpack. so took it easy and just putted around and enjoyed a beautiful bluebird day. almost got hit by a skier so took it easy even more. the right half of ed's had a junior olympics qualifiers race. snow was icy firm in the morning then got skied off into cornballs, it's feeling like spring. looks like something is coming in on the radar, but forcast is more warm temps all week. rode the 165amt from 9 till 2...
