nice morning with comphy temps, inversion. upper mtn better for carving

lower mtn bad grooming from yesterdays warm temps. huge dips and roller

in the seams from the groomers. one small cloud at the very top that stuck

around, good vis. got thrown around on the small glass board. bumped up

wet piles by noontime.

dark cloud on the northside and mostly couldy on the southside a little foggy

patch just on the top, good vis, comphy temps, but crowded. big mtn reported

6in overnight so all the powderhounds and the weekend warriors were up today.

snowed yesterday and last night so groomers was soft. if you rode flat it would

keep you on top and felt like it would be firm groomers, but as you turned it dug

in deep. the soft snow got bumped fast with the high traffic and the warm temps

that made for wet bumped up piles that really threw you around.

kinda of a suprise day, not much new, but we are in storm mode. supposed

to snow all day, but it was high overcast and good vis with lite winds. just

over an inch over groom on ed's and up top a little more. off groom it was

really good on the top third of the mtn. did a few laps on the backside with

a buddy and found some deep soft pow stash. after lunch the lower mtn was

getting wet and heavy and started to graupel snow. temps was cooler so

snow was good in the morning. it was a fun day. tomorrow should be good.

had a feeling it was going to be good after yesterday pow and a little

colder overnight temps. groomers was good and firm in the morning and

the sun was out. not very many people up today, but it still got a little

bumped up into small chunks. got a little foggy and some snow about

noontime and sun comes out then a little snow again. funny thing at

the end of the day, the last hour was really good as the skiers and

boarders seemed to flattened out the run on toni matt as it got warmer

and wetter. comfortable temps, cooler and dry, snow, but not wet.

it was a suprisingly good day.

as i was at work and looking at the big with the sun shining on it and knowing

there was 9in overnight and 14in in 24 hrs, i wasn't too happy. it was busy at

work in the early morning then it slowed down so my boss cut me loose and i

got on snow just before noon. it was tracked up, but there was still a little left.

it was still soft when i got there and it slowly got heavier which made it better.

it was so soft that you blew right thru it and as it got heavier it supported you.

did my laps just under chair 1 and didn't go anywhere else. i'm sure there was

a lot of places that was good or better. did one run on good med and the top

of big ravine was not groomed, which they always groom. big puffy clouds

rolled thru with a little flat light and mostly sunshine. it was a great day and i

wish i got the early stuff.

from a good pow day to a good groomer day. there was alot of light fluffy

pow yesterday that got groomed down really nice. the lower mountain got

groomed down perfect and the upper mountain a little soft. tomorrow should

be some epic groomers and i gotta work, poopoo! supposed to snow tonight

and a warm up on tuesday. two more weeks left. it was sunny in the morning

than slowly gets overcast and vis got bad at times with flat light. as always

at the end of the day at 4pm the fog lifts and it sunny, boohoo! it was a

great day of carving.

Alright riding Sunday and will look for other hardbooters. I will be on my prior 4wd laying down some trenches or pillaging powder. See you tomorrow.

Russ, sorry we didn't hook up. Aaron wasn't up on Sunday, but Redman, Skwal Guy, (angry) Rick and myself were out on hardboots. We only spotted you in the lift line that one time, but didn't get hooked up at the top. Didn't think you were many chairs behind, so after waiting a bit figured you must have headed toward back side or pow of west bowl. Figured we'd see you again, but no luck. I checked the 'Stube at the end of the day, but no luck there either. Hope you had a good day; the 2 inches of fresh made for some lumps in the afternoon, but I still carved until 4:00 for a 40,000+ vertical carving day.

what an amazing day! no more end of season blues, today was as good

as it gets. just a bit icy in the morning then good till 2:30 then a bit slushy

for an hour then gets a tiny bit firmer by the end of the day. blue sky

sunshine then slowly a super high haze till 2 then the sun comes out again.

it was cold in the early morning around the teens on the summit then

warmed up to comphy temps. really enjoyed today it was awesome! this

was the icing on a great season. i still have a few more day left.

well, it's the spring freeze thaw time. lower mountain was bullet proof

till it warmed up around noontime. beautiful bluebird all day with a light

haze all around. upper mountain carved good until the last pitch. as the

day warmed up it got better than later in the day it got really slushy.

i was done by 2pm, but kept going till last chair to up my vert. it was

good carving about 10am till 12pm. the 156bx is a super fun board,

another fun day. forcast is rain/snow for a few days and warmer temps.

woke up to snow yesterday and heard there was 9in of new pow, but

also heard it was the thickest fog anyone has seen to date. today there

was the classic big mtn fog all the way down to the village and it slowly

lifted by noon and then it was in and out. a little pow over groom and

more off groom. it was good on top , but the bottom sticky even early on.

got stickier as the day went on and by 2pm it was tough going so called it.

didn't know what to expect this morning, but was pleasantly surprised when

i got to the mountain. it was snowing big flakes and dumping and dumped

hard for an hour. again, classic big mountain fog everywhere then by noon

little pockets of sunshine. big puffy clouds rolled thru then mostly sunny by

the afternoon. a couple inches over icy hardpack groom. it was hard to get

an edge in early on so just sliding around trying not to get hurt in the fog.

as the vis got better and the snow softened up it was good for a little while.

then it was carving thru slush and wet piles. got thrown around on the small

glass board. did a hellfire run for the hell of it cause it's the last day the basin

will be open. took it easy, still a fun day. cooler and no rain.

nice bluebird morning with comphy temps and it was very firm in the morning.

did two runs on chair 2 and the top was hard and the bottom was really hard so

went to the backside and was suprised, it was perfect snow for carving so did

a bunch of runs then tried the frontside and it was still hard so back to the

backside. big puffy clouds builds and starts to snow around 1pm for a little

while then mostly overcast which kept it from getting really slushy. it was

really good in the morning on the backside so i was happy and the frontside

just waiting for it to soften up crappy. i got the last two days this weekend

and kinda glad its almost over so i can change gears and do my spring time

stuff. next week is a warm up and i'm so ready...

looked like it was going to be a sunny day with some big puffy hanging around.

then slowly clouds and fog moves in and gets a little snowy about 10am to 11am.

gets a little sun and and more clouds. not the best day, very firm with a little

snow on top. just sliding around and it was hard to get an edge in, took it easy

and just enjoyed the day. as it got slushy it got fun. the pond skimming started

about 2:45 and ended about 4pm, the huge kicker cut the field of entries pretty

quick. i didn't stop to watch and just watched it from the lift. the new snow and

warm temps made it sticky funky snow and wasn't very fun. still, made a day

of it and cosed the place down.

I saw the snow reporter video from today and it looked like classic Fish - you couldn't see five feet in front of you. Hope everyone had a great season! Sorry I couldn't make it back before the end - it wasn't the best season for me at all, but I promise I'll make at least two trips next year.

John, I'll see you in the summer for some mountain biking, so do some trail exploring on that dirt bike of yours.

I'll see the rest of you lovely people next season!

looked like it was going to be a wet one with thick fog all the way down to the

village. as the day started it started to dump really good pow and for a couple

hours. not very many people in the morning and by noon it was getting crowded.

went to the backside early and there was a couple inches of good fresh powder.

the fog slowly lifts and by noon the sun was trying to peak thru, but it was

mostly cloudy and snows now and then with some wind. it was just cold enough

that it did not get wet. as the day went one it got slushy down low. the high

traffic on the top cat track before toni was packed down like an ice rink by the

end of the day. well, it was season of extremes, super cold to a very warm march.

we had alot of good powder days and i enjoyed riding the softies this year. not as

much good carving days as i would have liked, but there was some good days.

i missed a hand full of days, but still close to my average, 62 days and 1,634,990

vertical feet and ranked 20th. all in all it was a great season.

it's been kinda cold and raining until a few days ago, today it was in the 70's.

went for a paddle and it was really nice. tomorrow should be nice again, but next

week it'll be in the mid fifties and raining again. the runs on the big still looks

good with no brown spots, there is still a lot of snow up there. hope you all have

a great spring/summer/fall and hpoe to see you here for wtf15...
