Summit and Eagle County Carve-O-Rama

Oh yes, I must of forgot. WP, the mecca of quality grooming, and quality snow. Cranmer just isnt my style and Hughes is nothing more that a dedicated race course. But if you say so, it must be the schiz. I ride too much good snow to be concerned with WP. Sad thing is, I can see it out my window. If I want groomers, I choose other options.

Think Snow!

OK then... we'll just stick with bitter

You know how I feel about WP

.... good snow this year in comparison though

Thought I would try out Copper Mt.on Tuesday. It was a nice sunny day; cool in the morning, but warming up quickly. Then snow was very firm, icy by Colorado standards, with numerous loose and solid rocks in the snow. Several of the runs had ridges in the groom that would launch you in the middle of a turn. Did some damage to the Virus. I rode from about 9:30 until noon, before I went back to Loveland. Conditions much better, softer snow, no rocks, and no ridges in the groom. It was about 10 degrees colder and windier, but it was worth it. Rode until 3:30 when the runs were nearly empty. It was taco tuesday, with 50 cent tacos, and $2.75 16 oz. PBR, doesn't get much better.

Copper Sucks!

Hong - Im shooting for Friday at the basin (19th) if the weather is decent. Sounds like Kress is ready and we could likely drag Steve over

JJFluff - Thanks for posting... I'm sure you will have others to ride with as the dates get closer. Us Colorado folk cant seem to make plans more than a couple days out. Check out Loveland on a weekend... good group of folks there and most likely Abasin on a week day. There are few carvers that night ride Keystone mid week.

Keep checking back here JJ...

Or check the LCI thread for Loveland

So I rode Abasin, Keystone, and Breckenridge today.

Abasin was just a tad softer than HERO snow.

Should shape up well for tomorrow!

Keystone was HERO!

Firmer than Abasin.

Carvable top to bottom.

Breckenridge was bumped out by the time I got there.

The light went too.

I did happen to spot a semi-virgin powder stash on the side of the terrain park and hit that for a while.

BE AT ABASIN TOMORROW!!!
