Dr D
Me too and Dr. D.... you going to be in hard boots this time???? Last time I was up there was in all that pow and I think I only saw you in soft boots! Sounds like it's going to be decent carving conditions this time. I will be riding the Coiler X3 lunchtray at 63/60 on catek fr2's and solamon malamutes. unless we have a ton of POW then all bets are off:biggthump

dredman
Well a little over a week or so, maybe 2 weeks. The Whitefish boys threw down a pretty good 2 weeks. The numbers speak for themselves. West, I Hope you are healing up well! Johnasmo will be an easy target next week to try and catch up with him for I am dragging him to SES! <table style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 357pt;" width="474" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><col style="width: 62pt;" width="82"> <col style="width: 51pt;" width="68"> <col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <col style="width: 8pt;" width="10"> <col style="width: 48pt;" width="64" span="2"> <col style="width: 5pt;" width="6"> <col style="width: 87pt;" width="116"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td class="xl63" style="height: 15pt; west carven
howdy all back in the saddle again, was tentative today and took it slow. rode my 160 speed and did the easy runs, the snow was wet and heavy and it was foggy in spots. felt great to be back on the hill. rode from 9:30 till 1pm... west carven
howdy all welcome to the big fog! it has been foggy lately, this warming trend brings the rain/snow and today the rime was pretty bad and with the low visibity made it a challenging day. fell again a couple of times, but nothing hard just tipped over, still not a good thing. the conditions are still spring like and more warm temps in the forcast. rode my 160 speed from 9am till 11:45am... Shred Gruumer
look.. we get there and we bring blue skys, cold temps and great groom.. We get back home and get over a foot of snow Saturday and calling for another foot or more Tuesday into Wednesday.. I can't keep bringing snow where ever I go... my shoulders are getting tired.. I'll send some cold next week,,but until then! tell Canada to point their fans south.. Right Said Shred
Allee
"snort" Canada needs its fans where they are. It's unseasonably warm here too, and we really need some more snow ... West, I'm coming down there next month, but your snow and weather reports are not making me happy!! I want blue skies, warm temperatures, and a foot of that fluffy stuff just like I had last time, please and thanks ...
west carven
howdy all wow! what a great day, a little rain/snow around 10am then just snow about 11am on, just a lite dump, but at this point any is good. the groomers were fantastic on the frontside, stayed on chair 2 mostly cause the fog started to creep down from the early morning. great carving snow, i'm still taking it easy, but pushing it here and there and felt really good. rode my 160 speed from 9am till 1pm... west carven
howdy all well... seems like spring has sprung. today it was very humid and the fog was very thick even down to chair 6, but there were pockets of clear spots moving about. the snow was very wet and hardpacked with some loose stuff, pretty crappy conditions. this is one of the busier weekends. last night i went out to see tony furtado play at the northern and left about 1am and it was raining, not even icey rain, just rain. i am going to call it the worst season ever!!! so now maybe it proves me wrong. rode my rsfp173 from 9:30 till 12:15pm... happy valentine's day to all the ladies
west carven
howdy all i knew it was going to be a crappy day and it was, wet heavy snow, thick fog, just like saturday. i was at work sunday and looking at the big it was clear all day. i'm coming down with a cold and probably will not go tomorrow. today i rode with "new dave" (notarealname) he is progressing well. he's been putting in the time which is good. as for me i am getting discouraged with the quality of the snow conditions. rode my rsfp167 from 10am till 11:30am... went to whitefish lake to ice fish for a few hours and not even a nibble... west carven
howdy all thanks to cooler air from the north and a little dusting yesterday, todays bluebird day and good grooming was great! still crowded with lots of canadians on holiday and the weekend warriors. i think the canadians leave tomorrow and we will have our mountain back. had a blast today! stayed on chair 2 all day cause chair 1 was full till the end of the gates. on my last run a girl says, your having too much fun and yes i was. rode my rsfp167 from 9:30 till 1pm... more warm temps in the forcast for this week... johnasmo
Yes, it was friggin' awesome today. Sunny blue sky and cold temps made for great carving that lasted all day. Did a lot of Bowl, Larch, Corkscrew, but everything was holding up pretty well. Did 50,000+ of alpine today and there was still smooth hardpack on Slalom on through night skiing. Tomorrow looks like a repeat... WhooYaaa!
west carven
howdy all it was one of the better days for me. bluebird skies smooth buffed out groomers and very carvable snow. the cool temps during the evenings helped the snow stay drier. stayed mostly on chair 2 and did three runs on tony matt which was great, did not see the regular trenches. we got our mountain back and it was pretty quiet today. rode my 178 speed from 9:30 till 1pm... johnasmo
stayed mostly on chair 2 and did three runson tony matt which was great, did not see the regular trenches. Arron, we were over on the Bowl, Larch, Corkscrew circuit in the afternoon, 1:30 - 4:00 PM. Rick, Rob, Mario, and myself. Stayed really firm and fast all day. Another perk of riding Big Mtn on a bluebird day is the chance that a Big Mtn Photo photographer will just happen to snaps some picks on the run your trenching. She came to the bowl about quarter to 3:00 while we were still sessioning it. Full gallery is here. Looks like they wised up and watermarked them this time. west carven
howdy all ditto! as yesterday, i'm suprised that it has been so good. again started the day on chair 2 and did a few runs on toni matt. i was feeling really hot by my last run at 1pm. i think the warm temps are on its way here, hope the snow doesnt go downhill. should be in the 40's in the next few days. hopefully it will snow at night. saw someone with a donek 180 gl in the morning but did not see um riding. notarealname is getting better, rode with him on a few runs. rode my 178 speed from 9:30 till 1pm... nice pics john and yeah! a pic of rob wow! west carven
howdy all got off work a little early so up to the big for some night riding. it was really warm at 3:30pm and the snow condition was spring slush. it was very very wet-n-heavy and as the piles of slush cooled down around 5:30 it got dangerously bumpy. still had some spots that was carvable and had some fun. rode my rsfp167 from 3:30 till 6pm... west carven
howdy all well... kinda felt like the last day of the season. very wet heavy snow and at the bottom the new snow felt like sticky glue that makes you want to do an endo over the nose. the slush piles made it bumpy, the backside was alittle better, but still it was wet-n-heavy. i think its over and i'm ok with it, it was a f#*$ed up season for me with the concussion and the spring like conditions all season. had a great powder day early on and that was it and i miss the best week when the bmes was on. oh well!!!... next year. rode my rsfp167 from 9:30am till 12:30pm... west carven
howdy all errr... it's not that fun anymore, gotta find the the good snow based on time of day. early morning is too hard so hit the backside which is holding up, then go to the frontside when it softens up, get your few good runs then its too soft and its spring slush. theres still 5 more weeks so lets cross our fingers and hope for a miracle! i was hoping that snow conditions would get better so i could ride my other boards, but it never got good enough to bust them out. rode my rsfp167 from 9:30 till 1pm...
