  1. WTB Ibex 4-hole bindings with universal cant. Many thanks BB
  2. Granted, Slopestyle is not an alpine event, but that's quite an accomplishment for a 17-year-old and worthy of note. Kudos! BB
  3. Adidas is releasing a sneaker in which the sole/insole (?) are printed based on the purchaser's foot measurements. The shoes are not cheap, $300 a pop, and in very limited release at the moment. I'll bet this technology will be successful. If it is, and as costs decrease, surely hardboot liners will become available using a similar process. AND THEN, can hardboot shells be far behind? I hope so! It will be a Godsend for people with problem feet and ankles!! https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/18/adidas-joins-carbons-board-as-its-3d-printed-shoes-finally-drop/ BB
  4. Thanks, Bob! Of all the motion sport media that spice the Forum, longboard tip riding is my favorite. In my opinion, the ultimate, flowing, fluid man/wave dance. BB
  5. http://www.latimes.com/local/obituaries/la-me-bruce-brown-20171211-story.html https://www.surfer.com/features/rip-bruce-brown/ One of the great documentaries of all time. And one of the great posters, too. Were it not for The Endless Summer, I probably wouldn't have surfed. And if I hadn't surfed, I surely wouldn't have boarded. Mahalo, Sir BB
  6. Have ridden AT's for 15+ years. By BOL standards, I'll never be an even intermediate carver. However, I'm nearly 70, and for my mellow, have-fun style, the easy walking Scarpas are a Godsend. BB
  7. Did a Google search but can't find details - only a site in French. Owned a number of Burtons during the PJ days. Fond memories.
  8. RIP, John Severson, Surfer Magazine founder and father of today's surf media. http://www.surfer.com/features/rip-john-severson-1933-2017/#WXidmrgc15u5jorg.97 https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/28/sports/john-severson-dead-surfer-magazine-artist.html?_r=0 BB
  9. hmmmmmm... looks like Cotton's... heh, heh
  10. Heard on NPR yesterday. Deal, apparently, must be approved by State of Vermont. Only posting this because, amazingly, no one else has (?) Sorry if mistaken and topic's already been covered. BB
  11. BRAVO for the Diamond Blade!! I hope to own one soon for hardpack in Possum Pouch, "The Ice Coast's southernmost carve outpost." BB
  12. That does not look like terror on his face... Banzai!! BB
  13. Regular. Learned to skate that way, and so I learned to surf that way. Before all that, I think I (sorta) learned my tennis serve left foot forward (?) Just put your best foot forward ... BB
  14. 6,000 Miles North of Hawaii!! Surfing in Unstad, Norway - north of the Arctic Circle!! http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/23/sports/surfing-unstad-norway-lofoten-masters.html?&hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=photo-spot-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news BB (please someone who can do a better job of linking this, have at it)
  15. Wow!! 03;00 and many seconds thereafter - some of the most graceful and fluid true shortboard (fish) surfing I've ever seen. Many thanks!! BB
  16. RIP, Bernard "Midget" Farrelly, an early world surf champion, board designer, and revered Aussie sports figure. Article online in NY Times, but I can't seem to link it. BB
  17. A great, great shot. More than most "frozen moment" pics, this conveys the flowing rhythm of snowboarding. And that hat! It says "boundless, carefree abandon and fun!" BB
  18. Barbarian Days - a Surfing Life, William Finnegan's biography about his lifelong love affair with waves, both near and far, just won the Pulitzer. I can't tell you how much I loved, and was amazed by, this book. Mahalo to a true surfer and a great writer! BB http://beachgrit.com/2016/04/just-in-surf-writer-wins-pulitzer-prize/
  19. Thank you! Great review and an intriguing board. Considering it for use with my size 12 AT hardboots. Seems perfect for the usual groom and hardpack of the South Ice Coast. Ride on!! BB
  20. Try Hormis - hormisk@gmail.com. Tell 'im "Les" sent you. He did a terrific skateboard graphic for me. BB
