Td3?

Dumb question: what of the TD2 needs improvement?

Just convenience stuff:

Ability to reach cant disk screws without removing base plate.

Ability to reach base plate screws without removing heel block (for small boots, sometimes the heelblock will obscure the back screw; unofficial workaround is to flip around the baseplate).

Real adjustable canting/lift without the need for multiple sets of disks;

Have a positive set system wherever we now have friction only;

Real floating suspension, totaly insolating binding from the board, along the lines of S-Flex;

Better, low profile, toe bail lever;

Add the nylon lock material into all treads;

And what KJL said.

It's the time...

- durable heelreceiver for the stepin coated with teflon so the snow won't

stick to it.

- sticky frontbail for the stepin, adjustability (may be as the F2 bindings)

- lower profile for the whole binding

- may be a variable canting and lift system like the Burtons/IBEX have but

then in aluminium, nothing like the Cateks (too complicated). I have no

complaints about this.

- no steel/aluminium contact with the board, some floating suspension

- a system for the frontbail standard with a durable stiff spring or something,

so your frontbail doesn't bang on your board. Something like in the Cateks

but then with a stop in the forward so your frontbail can't go futher then a

sticky point (also more durable then a system with lugs, bolts and so on)

- stiff/sticky standard heel, adjustable in height/length)

- baseplate smaller in diameter, but a little longer baseplate for the heavy

guys.

Electro-magnetic free floating board-boot interface with digital angle and cant adjustment interfaced with GPS-Compass-Altimeter-Cell Phone-Radio with a minimum of a Terabyte of CD quality music server, Wrist Watch with mitten sized buttons to effect changes on the fly or better yet, a Blue-Tooth Voice Actuated cotrol for all functions.

Don't forget a really good windscreen for the Blue Tooth.

I'd be nervous about Nylock wearing out super quickly. Perhaps a central threadlocking compound circulation system.

Boris, have you tried Vibratite?

I tossed some on my bindings, they haven't unscrewed at all.

Granted, I've only ridden 3 and a half days, and I'm not an aggressive carver or anything. Falling probably does a decent job on the bindings though.

Nylock just wears out too often.

The sims/santa cruz bindings came with 0*, 3*, or 6*, 5hole mountplates; I like the idea of distributing the load towards the edges of the board.

It's a shame that the straps&laces crowd stifeled the developement of alpine boot/binding systems:(

I have the board...

A directional Madd Mikes, Bitchin Boards. 166. Body by k2, topsheet (red, white and black plaid) by Madd Mike...Not sure who made the shape. It is a littel bit of a sheet of plywood, but still fun to tool around on one day a year...
