  1. Hey Man, the best tuner that I know of, and the only person that tunes my boards, is Mike DeSantas from Ski MD out of Summit Ski & Snowboard Shop in Framingham, MA. His web-site is : www.skimd.com He has a link on BOL. I know of many people on BOL have had Mike tune their boards with amazing results! I know it'd be a pain to ship the board to him, but if you're serious about fixing it and if Mike deems it repairable, might be worth considering. It'd be worth talking to him anyway. Hope this helps.
  2. Hey, I guess Sean is talking about My board! Lucky me, eh? lol! Seans repair is holding up quite nicely!
  3. It seems that I concur with everyone else and would choose JK's rusted metal bucket if it were in the poll! Very cool artwork JK! I dig how it looks 3D with the shadow cast around the rivets/bolts!
  4. I was kinda thinkin' the same thing! I think a carbon fiber topsheet would/does look pretty cool! I would have voted for that if were an option!
  5. I have most of, if not all of, the CDs' by Metallica. Studio recordings anyway. While you may be right in that St. Anger is their worst album, to me anyway, it is far better than some some of the "music?" put out by other "metal" bands. Funny thing is, it's the drums that I dig about St. Anger ( yes, I probably am tone deaf!). Oh, sorry for the OT thread-jack!
  6. I do believe you would be looking for this web-site! Looks to be $13.51 for a pack of 100! www.mcmaster.com Hope this helps!
  7. Of these 4 options, I voted for #2. I like 1 & 2. 2 much better than 1 because I don't like white boards very much. But they are bit too, Prior-esque as already stated. And 3 & 4 just aren't anything that I'd want on my board. I just never got into the Far East/Asian artwork, graphics, tatoos, etc. Guess I'm just not that cultured! I'd be more into nature type graphics. Something like what was on the Never Summer Premier snowboards of a few years ago. Snow covered mountain peaks laid upon a black or cobalt blue snowobard. I'm kinda diggin' this graphic that *Ace* found though! Just my 2 cents.
  8. I think a bit more information might be helpful. Such as: your weight, riding style, aggressiveness and what you're trying to achieve. Are you let's say a Clydesdale rider using alot of body english to aggressively arc your turns? Or are you a lightweight with alot of finesse and a quiet upper body making turns? Anyways, I don't think that you'll get many negative reviews on the Bomber BTS! Instead of being locked into a stiff position or having minimal support of riding in walk mode, you'll be able to find tune the ride that is right for you once you decide on what springs to go with and a bit of tinkering! We all love to tinker with our gear! My example: I'm 150 pounds, am an advanced rider who is moderately aggressive with a somewhat smooth riding style. I have the SB323 with yellow(soft) springs all the way around. I may be tempted to try the blue(medium) springs for my heelside/backside turns, which right now is my stronger turns. Booster straps, I've tried them, didn't change my riding/comfort that much. So I am currently not using them. Other people will have to chime in on the Booster Straps. That's just my two cents. Good luck!
  9. Hum, Wish I could get a donek sticker, but the site doesn't seem to have them for sale- anyone know if they exist? You know, if you were to call Sean Martin at Donek, I'm sure he'd hook you up with a sticker!
  10. Hey XX, That looks pretty slick! You'll have to keep us updated on it's durability in the cold and/or liftline jockeying! Oh, by the way, I have a Donek sticker that you can have if you want it! It's probably not the best application as the sticker is red and probably wouldn't show up very well! But it's yours if you want it!
  11. I would agree with Jack and Randy! If I were looking at a freeride deck, I would most certainly get a Donek! Just my 2cents! $500.00 for a handmade freeride deck that would support a company that supports the very sport that we all love!
  12. Will you be able to adjust stance angles without moving the heel/toe blocks if you run smaller sized boots?
  13. Jack, What did you think of the pre-production board that you rode? Did you give any feed-back to Donek about how it rode? What were your likes and dis-likes? Thanks, Jeff
  14. Thanks for posting a link to that other thread! I had not read that one! And yes Donek does do demos! I hope you get the chance to demo a Donek metal!
  15. Anyone here have the opportunity to have ridden a Donek metal board yet or is it still too new? I've been keeping an eye on the evolution of metal boards and who has done what to increase longevity of the metal boards. I haven't afforded myself the opportunity to ride a metal board yet, but I hear they are great riding decks. Being a long time owner of Doneks, I'm interested in sticking with Doneks and maybe trying one, if possible. Any feedback would be cool...if there is any yet!
  16. I do believe if a person is handy with a phillips screwdriver, you can make a left intec heel a right intec heel and vise versa. Not trying to be a smart-ass. All you'd have to do is, with the heel removed from the boot, remove the cover with the screws and then route the cable to the other side. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's all a person would have to do! Think Snow!
  17. I have the original Head Stratos liner to fit the Head Stratos Boots that dshack has for sale if interested!
  18. On one of the discussions at this years ECES, we were talking about the life of Deeluxes' Thermo-flex liners. The manufacturer says something like they can be molded about 7 times. I think the general concensus was that with each molding the liners get a bit firmer, and that 7 times is a bit of a stretch. More like about 4 times. Firmer liners may be good for some, not so good for others. It got me to thinking, do footbeds or orthotics have a life span too? The best boot fitting/molding that I've gotten so far has been when I was out at Breckenridge, which was in 2003, I think. Which is when I got some footbeds, I think made by Instaprint. So my footbeds are about 5 seasons old with about 30-40 days per year on them. Should I look into new footbeds?
  19. Is that a good or a bad thing??? Not trying to be an arse, just curious.
  20. Yup! Bob Skinner's is the place! I haven't had any work done there...yet! But I've heard the know what they are doing! I'm planning on getting new boots sometime soon, so I will be in need of molding some liners too! Hey queequeg, if I'm not mistaken, I was talking to you at the ECES about the Eliminator Tongues that you have in your boots on Tuesday night that was sponsored by tex1230 aka Matt? If it was you, I ordered a pair up for myself! Do I put these on both boots or just the troublesome boot? I.E the rear boot, which is my left boot. Inquiring minds want to know!! Dano, sorry about the thread jack!
  21. http://www.bootfitters.com/FIND_SHOP.htm I believe in Westwood, there is a shop called The Ski Stop that has an oven. But from Beverly, you may want to consider a few in NH too. In Concord just off of exit 12, which is route 3A north, there is a place calle Profile Orthotics Ctr @ S&W Sports that has an oven. I also hear really goods things about the shop in Newbury, NH up near Mt. Sunapee. Stan & Dan's in North Conway, NH is also a good shop, but just a bit outside of Boston. Hopefully, something here will help! Jeff
  22. Hopefully, you'll stop the car first! ;)
  23. Hey, I was just wondering if you guys could tell me how the grooming is at Waterville Valley, what are some of the good trails for carving and how are the crowds there on the week-ends? Thanks, Jeff
