If its not a hassle, bring the bike, lots of great singletrack within an hour of downtown. Fort, meh, not bad but not great, lots of wild game on the menu. If you want to do the wild game thing, I would reccomend the Buckhorn Exchange. I seriously think you should try this place:http://hopsandpie.com/ though there are plenty of other great beer places in town. Unfortunately, Casa Bonita closed last October.

It was with great sadness that I popped the top off of a TommyKnockers saison, put my sticks in a vice, and started pulling bindings tonight. Lovey is closing a week early, putting us out of our collective misery as we dodged both rocks and sheer ice for the last month and a half of the season. This is Colorado, the land of hero snow, we don't know how to ride that ice $hit, ice is not in our snow board lexicon, we put it in our adult beverages, and use it in the summer to keep our beer cold, we most certainly do not ride on it! I think I had around 30 days if I was lucky, the least in 10 years, and I stayed in bed more than I ever had due to lack of snow or insanely high winds this season. I know, cry me a river.... looking foward to next season, this one was one of the worst we have had in a very loooooong time

At the top of the run, grab your balls with one hand and beat your chest with the other like a wild silverback gorilla. Tell the mountain "I'm coming, do not f@$k with me." that worked really well for me today. If this weather pattern doesn't change, this may have been my last day of the season, it is getting really thin and ugly up there

Teach,
Leave the '85 home and bring the other 2, you can always switch up in the middle of the day, or get some coaching from any one of us. I will tell you now it is going to be fast, so be sure to pack confidence, a board you are comfy on, and your balls ;) and all will be well. See you sunday,
mario
I need to add this little tidbit from erikj about riding ice and firm 'cause it is so absoPhukinglutley awesome:

Teach,
what JP said. You should feel right at home, we have had some seriours melt freeze as of late, so the snow has been firm to double extra firm. Bring metal if you got it. Switch back is awesome, and should soften up well before the rest of the basin. Right now I am planning on being up on Sunday, albeit for a short day, may have to ride really hard and skip post ride bloviating and beers, and we should have a few others. They just got 6.3" of new, and temps are forecasted to stay below the mid 40's for later on in the week, so conditions should be good. Pay attention towards the lower reaches of the hill, it is getting thin

So - An hour on the lifts with one run on "very firm" snow. Beer at 10AM. Sounds like a true Loveland day.
John,
We actually managed 4 runs, but it was tough to get any kind of rythym when your front leg and ass cheek are asleep from being on those no footrest lifts for so long. I didnt' mind the firmness of the snow, I just was not in the mood for sitting on the lift wondering when it was going to fire up again when there was a perfectly good pint or 2 calling my name

Ice and I got on 1 at 8:33. At 8:33:45 lift 1 stopped for about 40 minutes. Power went out as well as the back up deisels. Patrol was getting ready to evacuate. They would have had fun with my fat ass. finally got up to the top and went over to 6. 6 stopped with us on it a 3rd of the way up . Waited 20 minutes. Went up again, lift stopped right after we got off. Went to 1 did a run, at the bottom, 1 was stopped again. Went to the darkend Rat and drank beer. Conditions = Very firm. The Sheriff was on skis, Blasphemer. That is all.

Nice clip, kinda reminds me of a good day inside my head. If you would stop travling so much and come out and play, I might have some new material. As for the repitition, I blame it on a few noggin'n knockers through the years:p
