  1. Anyone know how it would compare to lets say a 167 Donek Freecarve flexwise? Stiffer, softer, about the same?
  2. give them a break. the poor slobs used to be able to smoke anywhere and now they stand outside like lepers. years ago they'd be smoking in your work area and if other parts of the world they still do. they're smokers, deal with it. you were out of line imo
  3. If they're a size Large for a 46.5 boot and you'll ship to Connecticut I'll take them. Sent you an email. Cliff
  4. What is interesting, and not what I expected or would like to see, is the drop off from 3-4 to 1-2. Combined 1 & 2 are only 13.3% which means there was a bubble with 3-4 as the peak and now there's a declining interest. If I were in the Alpine Snowboarding business I'd like to see that 1-2 group larger then the 3-4 group or at least close to it. But perhaps as someone else already said the 1-2's haven't found Bomber yet or aren't rabid enough to be here constantly before the season actually starts!

  6. I could not have said it better then Dan so eloquently put it. I'll order a couple of kits myself. All the best - Cliff Hans
  7. "I've wanted a DUC for as long as I can remember, love the styling, and the sound." well, then that's it then. end of conversation. The SV is a moot point. motorcycles are emotional - if your motorcycle doesn't move you emotionally then dump it and get the one that does. The DUC shall be yours my friend.
  8. I rode the DS1000 version and almost traded in the Sprint. I need both.
  9. interesting perspective. http://www.onewheeldrive.net/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=345&Itemid=126

  12. Donek 167 Freecarve I. Maybe even a 171 (my personal favorite). A carving set-up will always be longer then your freeride rig. Actually, for me my carving rig has become my freeride rig! Peace Out. BTW - eat something for gods sake! I want to see you at 150 by spring or I'm calling Family Services!
  13. I think if you'd outgrow a GS 500 in a week. Fun track bike though. I think an Suzuki SV650 or the Ducati Monster 620 would be perfect. Both these bikes have adequate power and handle great. Even though I'm riding a liter class bike I would love to have an SV650 - great commuter/track bike and you can pick them up cheap. BTW - I wouldn't piss on a Nighthawk if it was on fire. Nor am I fan of the thumpers (single cylinder F650's and the little Buell). Let me know when you get hooked up - you can ride motorcycles with me rather then road bikes with Mark on Sunday mornings! For the love of god DO NOT GET A CRUISER! You’re ride a carving board not a sloppy freestyle, wouldn't you expect to ride a carving motorcycle!
  14. Is this some kind of joke? That show is a joke - the fact that those guys and bikes draws a crowd make me embarrassed to be an American.

Thanks for the summer fix. I agree with your comments - it's the rider, not the board. I've had fun on every board I've ever been on and enjoy riding a variety of equipment; it’s simply a matter of adapting your style to the board’s characteristics. I definitely have my favorites but will never turn down the opportunity to ride something new. Until November…..
  16. This is the best thread ever.
  17. I haven't tried those but I am particularly fond of Herradura but I never see it in bars (in which I do most of my serious drinking). Patron is often available but I'm not keen on it. But given a choice between 1800 schwag and Patron, I'll take Patron. I’ll keep an eye out for Chamucos. http://www.tequilaaficionado.com/index.php
  18. here's my 99. I have a silver 2003 now.

    Magic

I've been renting a condo at magic for 6 years but I've been getting Stratton season passes. Magic is indeed open and has been for the 6 years I've been staying there. It has changed owners at least once during that time and seems to be perpetually on the verge of bankruptcy. It has not changed a bit since the 80's. It is a cool, funky little mountain and with natural cover can be a blast. It is not a good mountain for carving due to the lack of grooming. It has some really steep stuff and that is never touched by a groomer so bump skiers love it. It is never crowded, even on holidays. On a powder day it is the place to be - you can find powder all day long as opposed to Stratton or any other mainstream mountain where it would be chewed up within a couple of hours. I've become addicted to corduroy so I only go there on powder days or on holidays to escape the masses.
  20. ditto on the donek. 171 or 179 FC I.
  21. I rode a 168 UP for 2 seasons when I first started (6'3", 200 lbs+). I thought it was good to learn on at the time. It sat idle for three years. I rode it last week (for some unkown reason) in the fresh snow we got in VT and folded the nose on the second run and almost broke my leg. I'd be cautious. A 168 is not too big for someone your size. I find boards around 170 to be excellent daily drivers, longer decks for less crowded days.

    volkl seleta?

I'd sure be itnerested in any feedback as well. I've been eying that lately too. My powder board got bit by a rock and died. The Selectra caught my eye big time.
  23. get over to the starting gate by stratton and have someone look at her boots. they may get pissed if you bought them mail order from someone else but do it anyway. my bet is the boots are too big - at least 1 full size, maybe more. a common mistake. if that is the case, bite the bullet, sell them on bomber and get ones that fit right. IMO boots are the single most important component.
  24. I'll take the Nidecker. I recently killed mine and would love another.
  25. jp1 - we rode North American, Tamarac, and Polar until it started getting crowded then the sun bowl - lower down easter was sick - must have done it 5-6 times - as was the supertrail. once things got too bumped up we did a nice easy meadow and ran the 6 pack until about 2. Where you riding a twin tip? I saw someone in hard boots on one.
