  1. I see where Bach' is open until May 29th, any of you locals up there wanna give us a snow report? If I can pull it off I'd like to come up for a last "hurrah" and drag Ralann and the kids with me. Let us know how it looks, I appreciate it. p.s. throw in any lodging suggestions or ticket deals too.... :D
  2. and still haven't gotten resolution on it. I sent it USPS and they "lost" it. Because the board was on it's way to Canada they had to wait 6 months for Canadian officials to say "yep, we never received it" until they would let me start the claim process. I kept my eye on the classifieds and Fin even sniffed around for me, but to no avail. I sent e-mails to one person selling a black 168 identical to the one that was lost, but they never responded. Probably the culprit, but it's hard to say, especially when the board was lost so far from home.... :( Hope whoever snagged it broke their friggin' leg Live 'n' learn,
  3. and b*tch slap that A-hole Doc!
  4. :D I own and have ridden a '03 Silberpfiel 168cm for the last 3 seasons and absolutely love it! Mine has the Conshox, so I can't speak for the newer ones, but there's a thread here somewhere about the differences (D-Sub?) I run F2 Titanium step-ins on it as well. This board is my all around favorite and never fails to but a smile on my face. One of my riding buddies (who shall remain nameless...Rob) calls it my "security blanket board" I highly suggest them!
  5. if you ever decide to give it up!
  6. I can't tell you how many times my brother and I have used that line! Does your car have cop shocks, cop tires, and a special cop motor?
  7. I need a 167 for my quiver! Sweet board, and it's never been used? WOW
  8. Hard or Soft doesn't matter here!.....uh, wait.....let me re-phrase that.....Stiff or Limp makes no difference!...no, no, wait...um, oh hell, welcome to the forum..... :o
  9. Just another reason I love this place.... :D Hey Eric, did your order get there yet???
  10. He came by and rode with Rob and I about a week or two ago and he is definitely one of the "smoothest" riders I've seen. Trikerdad also moves very effortlessly on his board, almost like his upper body is stationary while his legs just glide back and forth underneath him. Bryan rides this way too, but with arms in more of a "gunfighter" position. Ralann has become very "symmetrical" this season, carving equally as good on his toesides as on his heelsides, he's almost a completely different rider than from last season. This just proves to me that through hard work and adjustments you're riding style can change. Riding with others is a HUGE help, something I hope to do more of next season. I'm not much different than I was at the end of last season, but I'm working on it!
  11. HAEC = Half-Assed Euro-Carves PNWS= Pacific NorthWest Snow (or slush) FPFG= Feeling Pretty F***ing Good :D
  12. I found this season when I tried to steepen my angles after receiving the Virus (17.2cm waist), my ability to control my edges went away severely. Let us know your spec's (binding settings, boots, etc.) and that might help.
  13. I'd say make sure you're staying inclinated and keeping edge pressure throughout the turn. My weakness (among many) are my heelsides and I've found that in comparison to my toesides I initiate my toesides much earlier than my heelsides and I don't inclinate myself enough. When throwing a toeside I get the board up on edge early and drive harder from just before until right after the apex of my carves. On my heelsides I don't do any of that, I just kind of "ride it out". Watching video of myself this season has helped me immensely and I'm slowly figuring out what it is I'm doing wrong and finding ways to correct it. Even static shots help to identify your weak spots. Another trick Trikerdad taught me was to slowly work your way down the hill doing a series of just toeside or heelside turns depending on what you're working on. Start with fairly shallow turns and ride them until you fall over. With each successive turn deepen your lean and inclination until you feel you've reach the point you are comfortable with. Thanks to Ralann for all the time and patience he's had this season with taking video & pic's of me. I've made some of my best turns ever this season due to being able to analyze my riding.
  14. in the photo you posted.....see? All he needs is the side-burns and he could be KING !!! Seriously, after giving it some thought, it kind of reminds me of the argument over roadracers dragging their knees when they corner. Kenny Roberts was one of the first to do this and at the time it was shunned as unneccessary. Barry Sheene had more of an "upright" style and kept his body close to the motorcycle. Granted motorcyclist drag their knees or "touch the pavement" as a means of lean gauge and support, so the comparison is not exact. Seems like it all boils down to a difference in style/technique between riders.
  15. I didn't get a T-shirt with my Stealth Carbon! :D
  16. That is the best sequence in the whole video! I'm hoping to make it out to Breck next year, my niece just built a house there....
  17. :D I love snowboarding and surfing, neither of which the wife does or understands, but she doesn't give me much guff about either one. I'd have to agree with those that say the ultimatium would be the straw that breaks the camels back.....Adios baby, I'll sleep with my Virus!!!
  18. That's what I'm talking about! There are some NASTY rough spots in some of those corners. The front wheel lofting up is something that used to always scare the sh*t outta me. We've got a road here that half the time you spend airborne when your riding down it! Great video! Thanks Miro! Paul
  19. This kid blew my mind when I saw him coming down the face under our main chair at Shasta. He was warming up for a race and ripped off about 20 tight aggressive carves, porpoising in between, hit the wide-out area, straight lined it and jumped like a ski jumper off a hump in the run and than slammed it sideways to a stop right in front of his buddies on the snowboard team. He now competes on the World Cup and beats both Klug and Jewell on occasion. He's the future of Alpine for the USA as far as I'm concerned. FIS # 1666363, Paul
  20. That's one of the greatest memorial's I've ever seen. We just had a local snowboard instructor pass away at our home mountain, I'm going to suggest this to them as a way of paying respects to him. I'm sure Pop's would be proud, Paul
  21. and I ride with my right foot forward as well..... :D Seriously, right handed and ride goofy on snowboard, skateboard, wakeboard, & surfboard. Can throw a baseball, football, and bat left or right handed. Play hockey right handed, but taught all 3 of my kids to play left handed like they do in Canada. I've been coaching inline for about 10 years and as mentioned before this produces a much stronger shot being that your "strong arm" is pulling the stick through the shot. Also found this makes for a wicked backhand as demonstrated by my oldest daughter and son being able to bury the puck in the top corners of the net at will on their backhands. My son is righthanded, boards regular, throws & hits with his left and plays hockey left handed...go figure? Have fun, Paul
  22. Hope you get well soon. Thanks for the pointers this season, I was hoping to ride with you and Robert a few more times, guess it will have to wait 'til next season. Stay in touch, Paul
  23. I'd been waiting for 2 seasons to get new boots. I finally broke down and grabbed some Red & Black Lemans models and couldn't have been happier.....until now..... Like I need more gear.... Paul
