  1. I too need to try getting my board up on edge more. After looking at video from the last couple of seasons (what little there is) and examining pictures of myself I noticed that I don't angulate enough. Hopefully I can get some more days in this season to test this theory out. Hoping to make it up there Sunday with the family so if you're around I'll try to catch up with you. BTW I love your bike! Are those Bassani pipes on that bad boy? Figures you'd ride a rigid frame too, I knew I liked you for a reason......
  2. I'm very interested in trying a riser system of some kind, I just don't know which one. The Conshox is specifically designed for the F2's, but I believe either CFJ04 or C5 Golfer has adapted one to a Renntiger in the past if I'm not mistaken. I still have my Conshox, maybe I'll try it out on my make-shift all mountain board (see pic below) Let me know what you'd consider in my postion, I'd appreciate your opinion. BTW I'm 6'2" 185lbs if dimensions matter....
  3. I actually had forgotten about the Tinkler system, I was busy posting my question when you posted that great picture of the "Wall of Tinklers". I saw it as soon as I posted my question and realized I should have considered those too. The thing that got me thinking about all this was the risers in Ursle's post and the remarks made in the S-Flex threads I found that kept coming back to the "height" that almost everyone remarked about in conjunction with the Hangle/S-Flex/Riser systems. It dawned on me that the "height" or "rise" I experienced with the Con Shox was one of the things I didn't have with any of my current set-ups. I've made a decision this season to try more "adjusting" along with trying to get out and ride more in order to improve my riding. Proper technique will probably be my biggest focus, but the equipment side won't get over looked either. Thanks for your help.
  4. on almost all of your boards. If I'm not mistaken some are the Palmer Power Plates or whatever they called them, but the others I don't recognize. I've been looking at the F2 S-Flex system, but am not $500.00 worth of convinced I need them. I used to ride a F2 Silberpfiel with a Conshox on it and I still regret selling that board to this day. It had alot of the characteristics that are mentioned about the S-Flex equiped boards, heavier weight, more damp, would cut through anything, etc. etc. I still have the Conshox, but haven't tried it on the other boards in my quiver (see post earlier in thread) Could it be that I'm actually missing the "height" the Conshox provided for me and not the actual board? Maybe Bryan and Thor can chime in here, what do you guys think? Is trying the Conshox on one of my other boards a plausible idea? What's your take on the S-Flex system? I already read through the other S-Flex threads posted here after pulling them up in the search que, but I'd like to hear some fresh opinions.
  5. Glad to see someone appreciates and can relate to my situation. I get harassed alot about not getting up to the mountain as much as some of my buddies, but I do what I can. I was with Albertsons for 10 years before going to work for Walgreens some 10 years ago now. Retail's hell but it's what I do. One of these years I'm going to take the week off for SES, just wish they'd move it from Valentines week to the end of February. Here's a pic of me on the Virus on one of the "rare" days I make it up....
  6. 172cm. I'm looking forward to riding it more this season. I spent alot of time on the Madd last year, but am changing things up a bit this season. Here's my current quiver, minus the F2.
  7. Happy New Year to you, hope you're back on your feet soon.
  8. they're available mostly over in Europe and Japan. When Sims was bought out they continued to manufacture the Burners, but only in that market. I have a 178 and love it so I'm not sure why he's excluding them from the list......here's a pic of me & mine.

    Quick Question

I think it has something to do with the right to "bare arms", although I prefer keep my guns covered up....I'm not sure you heard me but I just did a thousand of those...gotta sculpt the guns when I can....ahh, the burn, it so deep!

    Quick Question

I'm not going to site the two "specific" examples I'm refering to because I feel as though my message was received and understood without naming anyone specific, something I did on purpose to avoid causing any further uproar. I'm sure plenty of people (Tex1230 & Dr D for example) here know exactly what I was refering to. I also don't remember siting, quoting, or using the first amendment anywhere in my post. I also don't remember naming you or calling you out, so maybe you should relax.....

    Quick Question

I'd like to weigh in on the issue that I believe some of the "moderators" here need to be monitored too. Recently some Threads by members expressing their points of view on certain "subjects" seemed to turn into personal crusades to decry these threads by these folks who are, in my opinion, supposed to remain removed from the emotional side of posts here in order to provide a fair and unbiased source of regulation on this site. These interjections, supposedly designed to be calming voices in the middle of the storm, were more like defense of their personal position or opinion of the subjects being discussed and ultimately ended up causing these threads to be closed or pulled. Last time I checked this site was an open forum for those interested in the sport of hardbooting and and all that goes with it and as such we are allowed to express ourselves on a variety of subjects about that sport as long as we stay within the guidelines set down by the owners of this forum. No one is above reproach here. We are all subject to the scrutiny of the members of this forum and should accept that as part of membership here. Moderators have opinions too, but they relinquish the right to become emotionally involved in these subjects upon acceptance of their position. When regulation becomes tainted by these individuals acting not in the best interests of the forum as a whole, but for a select group of people or things for whom they have a personal or emotional attachment, that regulation looses it's validity. I realize bashing moderators shouldn't be tolerated, but at the same time moderators shouldn't be allowed to bash members or their opinions.
  12. I can't believe you didn't receive any kind of help or compensation. I've seen you ride and know what your skill level is and quite frankly I'd say it was something very weird that must have happened for you to break that board. I saw your first run on the 6th before I left that day and you looked great. It seems to me that if nothing else Sean would give you a discount on a new replacement board realizing that young riders like yourself are what we need to keep this sport, and companies like Donek, alive and in business. You let me know if you need a board for next season, I'll let you ride the Madd or the Virus in competition if you can't afford a new board. You can be "ar(angel alpine gear's" first sponsored rider!
  13. I know I'm going to have a fun day when I step onto the snow at the lift and it "squeeks" underneath my boots. After experiencing "Tahoe Snow" for the first time on an alpine rig recently at Heavenly I finally understood what people have been talking about when they say the snow there is awesome. I'm definitely planning a trip or two over there next season. I can only imagine what the snow in places like Colorado must be like.......(insert drooling smiley face)
  14. The Arbor alpine model that is! Someone should seriously con them into making those again.....
  15. on to #4....that music is a brain killer....
  16. but I'm having a hard time hearing the little music blurb on #3, it's gotta have something to do with the answer, yes???
  17. Congrats to Robbie & Chika! The conditions were very tough for racing, you had to be there to appreciate how hard it was to run in that slush. The crews really did a good job of trying to smooth out the course and keep things running. I've never seen so many hardbooters in one place at the same time, hopefully someone took some pic's??? If anyone thought hardbooting was dead, especially for the up and coming generations, they've never been to our area when races like these are being held!
  18. I'm goofy, but I'm more artistic than technical. I'm somewhat ambidextrous, can bat both left & right handed and throw a football both right & left handed, although I can't seem to throw a baseball left handed??? I also don't carve very symmetrically, maybe I'm using the wrong side of my brain..... :D
  19. now where did I leave that screw driver...... I too have recently backed my angles down a little, but I think that was due to me riding an all mountain board and finding my heelsides were a bit easier with the shallower angles. I rode recently though in Heavenly and found I was wanting more steeper angles with the firmer snow. I haven't been able to "hook up" so far this season at Shasta with the conditions the way they've been (although Ralann will say it's all rider error! :D ), but in Tahoe with the better snow I was riding way differently. I'm actually going to try steeper angles to try to cure my heelside problem of not getting my upper body rotated around enough, something Cuban Carving Gooding pointed out to me. I realize as Cuban pointed out this will not totally set me right, I've still got to drive my hands to the inside instead of opening up my upper body like I currently do (see photo) I ride 63F/60R right now, but want to go a little steeper to see what happens.....
  20. Well Heavenly was a blast, I rode 'til my legs gave out (about 1:30pm, I forgot my L-glutamine :( !) and loved every second of it. Props to "Cuban Carving Gooding" for some good pointers, saw him tearing up Olympic on his "Madd Cuban" but we couldn't quite get sync'd up. I eventually caught him at the "Slice of Heaven" at the Stagecoach Lodge where we talked for a bit and he gave me some much needed advice on my heelsides. The snow was surprisingly firm for the conditions, sunny & low 40's, and I was able to get a few good turns in despite the "torpedoes & rockets" bombing down the hill. I did a little "exploring" on other runs, got over to the East Peak Lodge (what a show that was!) and saw some very pretty country while I was there, a great all around experience. Thanks again to all those that replied and I hope to make it back over there again soon.
