  1. Give me a holler will you? I found some old snowboards and want to know if you're interested in them or know someone that is. One is a Craig Kelly Extreme Air with the burton bindings. There's 8 others ranging from a Nitro "Fusion" to a couple of Morrow's, to a Sims 1610 Blade ATV..... Thanks, Paul
  2. I've ridden F2's almost the whole (all be it short) time I've been hardbooting. I tried the TD2's a season or so ago on my Virus and found them to be too stiff. Up until then I didn't realize I prefered a little "play" in my set-up, so it was a good experience if nothing else. I also believe if I would have just stuck with it I would have gotten use to them, but a buddy of mine offered to trade the TD's for some new F2 Titanflex's......:)
  3. Geez Ray, that Evo is just plain nasty lookin'! La Glisse is beautiful as well. I've had a hankerin' for the new A-Frame they've got down at one of my local shops (see pic below) There's something about showing off your wood when you snowboard......
  4. Looking for both lift and cant blocks for F2 bindings pictured below. Let me know...... Thanks
  5. I've got a set I might be willing to part with. Let me know,
  6. I'm thinking of selling my Prowler with F2 RS carve bindings on it. The waist is 22. The board has some flaws though, nothing that effects it's riding performance. I'd be interested in the Silberpfeil. Let me know if you're interested and we can discuss it. Thanks
  7. My kids have never been anywhere but Shasta & Bachelor, so I'm trying to plan a trip. I had so much fun at Heavenly I figure it's as good a place as any to take them. I'll keep you posted. Allee, thanks, it's good to be back. I was pretty T-d off over some board issues last year, I even thought about selling all my gear and going back to a soft set-up just to get away from all the BS. Luckily cooler heads prevailed and I'm looking forward to another season of carvin' the cord. Bobby thanks for the kind words, that's me on the Virus 2 seasons ago under the lift I was describing in my original post. Just above where I'm at in the photo is the "lip" Ralaan likes to shoot off of, it's a beautiful thing to watch.
  8. although I'm not as good as alot of the folks around here (Cuban...:)), I still enjoy ripping it under the lift. I was also inspired by a hardbooter back when I first started boarding 8 years ago while riding up the lift. Snow Patrol dude named Andreas on a Sims Burner 167, you know the pink version, comes ripping down under the main lift at my local mountain. Being a former motorcycle roadracer when I saw him laying down those turns I said aloud "That's what I wanna do!" One of my local buddies Rob (Ralaan) does a sweet mid carve jump just in sight of the chair on our favorite green run (see pic below). The Cat Track runs parallel to the lift line and it creates a "lip". Rob loves to come blazing in cranked over on his toeside and jump it at full tilt than slam it back the other way right under the chair. I've gotten in the bad habit of hitting it on my toeside, looping below the crest than carving back up the slope and doing 180 "bunny hop" and landing on the Cat Track. I saw Cuban at Heavenly a season or two ago and he was blazing down Olympic under the chair just tearin' it up. I'd have to say overall it inspires me to try harder and really gets me stoked when I see other riders doing it too. Sorry for the long post...it's been a while!
  9. 6'2" 195lbs....gotta start that diet :)
  10. E-mail received, just haven't been home to respond. I'll contact you tonight, Thanks
  11. I'm working on another deal right now and might be interested......let me know
  12. I'm staring at his 22.5 Raichle 225's right now that he's out grown. The very boots in those pictures. The liners are 22.5's but the shells can be pushed out to 24 according to what is marked on them and what I've been told by members here. He actually started in his sisters old ski boots, so I understand where you're coming from. Let me know if you're interested and we'll work something out.
  13. That's what I told my son when I had him on his first alpine board at 8. I had him keep his chest to the front of the board and get in the "gun fighter" stance, knees slightly bent hands to his side like he was ready to "draw". As he would start down the hill I'd have him put slight pressure on his toes, than on his heels, back and forth until he was "wiggling" back and forth down the run. As he became more comfortable with the feeling of getting on edge I had him increase the amount of time he spent on the edge to lengthen and draw out his turns. By 10 he was carving pretty good turns both toe & heel and could make his way down our local Blue runs. I always tried to think of the motion I wanted him to make and than put it into terms he could easily grasp without using $10 words or talking over his head. I also used to make him do "emergency" stops both heel and toe to get used to slamming the board over hard in one quick motion to make sure he wasn't afraid of laying the board over. Here's a couple of pics of him between 8-10 years old. He started out on a 136cm Rossi Throttle, than moved on to a Burton FP135, and his current ride is a 148cm Renntiger. Good job passing on the stoke, keep up the good work!
  14. hope you can work something out, let me know how it goes. I've been kicking around the idea of a carbon fiber support similar to the butterfly the Madds use, but when I found out how much carbon fiber costs I had second thoughts! Im sure the Conshox would work on the right board, it just depends on the shape I think. Good luck!
  15. and it left a pretty good pattern on the topsheet. My Silberpfiel withstood the Conshox really well too and barely had any markings on it even after 3-4 seasons of use. Guess it just depends on the topsheet? The one thing I experienced when I put the Conshox on the Rossi was that although it stiffened it up in the middle, it made the tip and tail really waffle when ridden hard. As has been mentioned on this topic before, the Conshox is supposed to be an F2 board attachment only, but hey if you got one laying around and a soft all mountain board, why not give it a try right? I could probably have adjusted to the sudden change in stiffness/flexiness if I tried, but ended up opting for the softer more predictable ride without the Shox.
  16. you probably think your not squared up and angled the right way enough. I've been looking at more pic's and video this season than in the past and I find that I really have to correct my "ass high" riding style. Mine (pic #1) is very pronounced, but when I look at pic's like Jacks (pic #2), I see the (god forgive me for the next term....) "angulation" in his body and lack or opposite of it in mine (I realize Jack's pic is a heelside, but his toesides are a mirror image of that shot). Instead of keeping my upper body "quite" and letting my legs flow out from underneath me in a pendulum type action, I drive the turn and force myself down, but break at the waist which shoots my ass up and shoulders/upper body down. In pic 3# I feel a little bit better, but can still see my hips higher than I'd like them to be and I'm not "pinched" at the waist. You look really good in that toeside, but if I were to mention anything at all it would be that your not "pinched" at the waist like Jack is in pic#2. But hey, you'd probably smoke my ass anyday and I've seen video you've posted before of you carving and believe me, your at the "fine tuning" stage in your riding.
  17. Thanks for that bobdea, wow.... me think's he's had one to many knocks on the noggin'
  18. 6-7 years ago. It was good seeing him compete, but he obviously couldn't hang tonight. Ryo looked good too, but couldn't put together the full pull with grabs and spins both directions to put the smack down on White. I agree he was getting alot of love, but when he's the guy most people identify with, they play to that strength. Pearce got alot of press too for his "iron man" performance going from one event to the next, running all day long. Skier X was unbelievable with all the crashes, those guys deserve medals just for surviving! It would be nice to see something involving carving though......"carve style" instead of "slope style"? "Carver X" instead of "Boarder X"???
  19. I thought I saw something about them on their web-site?
  20. As the "Ginsu" of alpine boards! That baby will give new meaning to the word "carving"...... You gotta have the board named "The Scalpel" and have that pinstriped on the tail......
  21. OMG, the tandem monoski clips totally reminded me of that "Ambiguously Gay Duo" cartoon from Saturday Night Live!
  22. Holy Crap! Is that a scalpel or a snowboard??? :D
  23. Can you contact me please? I have a question I'd like your help with, Thanks
  24. Nice to see someone else sharing the family stoke. I usually end up posting at least one of these type posts a season, so good to see someone else doing it too. Started snowboarding late myself, I was 37 when I learned and this will be my 7th season...you do the math. All 3 of my kids learned to ski first with my son coming to the "dark side" first at age 6, than the girls followed 2 seasons ago. I taught all 3 to snowboard. Zach was on hardboots by the age of 8 and now rides both alpine & freeride at age 12. My oldest daughter will be trying hardboots for the first time this year and rides her freeride setup with forward angles and loves to carve. Of all the things I've done sports-wise with my kids, riding the mountain with them beats them all. Here's some pic's
