  1. I highly suggest you get them. I had the same problem 2 seasons ago with really nasty shin bang. Last season I bought a pair of the black & red Suzuka's seeing if new boots would help, and the first thing I did was get them molded. WOW what a difference. Maybe it was the boots (I was riding with AF700's before) or the liners, but I know one thing for sure, I'll never go without getting my boots fitted again!
  2. Loved that board, it's what I had right before I started riding square tails exclusively. What size is it?
  3. May your days be clear, your runs be freshly groomed, and your pockets be sufficiently deep....this stuff gets addicting.
  4. are the bands or "strips" at the edge of someones tires that show no wear or use, usually meaning they don't get over all they way when riding. This used to be what we'd look for when we were about to race another guy back when I was street racing. Another give away that you were about to smoke someone pretty easily was a guy who still had the "nipples" on the edges of his tires too. I remember more than once guys talking trash about how great of a rider they were, and they'd have about an inch of rubber left on their edges! Ah, good times, good times.....
  5. it's in the "Tinkler Album" on Bryan's website (oldsnowboards.com) It's like a Burner on steriods! Split tail, Driver Plate (reminds me of my conshox ) and of course the most important feature IT'S RED & BLACK!!! You'll have to give me some pointers on the Madd, I'm looking forward to experiencing one. Have you heard when the mountian's supposed to open?
  6. looks like the quiver will have a "touch of Maddness" this year....I'm in for a new 170......guess the Tinkler will have to wait :o
  7. if anyone is interested. Brand new, can e-mail pic's....
  8. let me see if I still have a couple out in the garage. I don't use them, so you might as well enjoy one. Send me your address and I'll pop it in the mail
  9. I was present when Trikerdad got nailed by a straight liner last season. We were making runs together and I had stopped at the top of a rise to watch Bill go down the run when these two idiots go blowing past me on both sides, one of them heading straight for Bill. I yelled, but to no avail, by the time Bill looked uphill the little turdball was on top of him as he tried a last second "hop" to get over Bills board....it didn't work. The kid caught his tip on the top edge of Bills Coiler and it sent the kid summersaulting down the run. Than the little jackass gets up and doesn't even say "sorry" and skins-out down the hill. By the time we got to the bottom they were long gone. The only thing that coulda made it worse was if he had plowed straight into Bill.....he never would have recovered....the kid that is, Bill's somewhere in the neighborhood of 6'2" 225lbs. I've got 3 kids that ride (ages 11-16) and my biggest fear is them getting hit by one of these no brain morons. Ride with your head up and always be aware of your surroundings, it may not prevent this kind of thing from happening, but any kind of prevention is better than nothing.
  10. I ride a 168 F2 Silberpfiel and love it, it's my security blanket (Ha! beat you to it Ralann) I also ride a 172 Virus that I'm still getting use to (it's my new favorite) and I have a 178 Burner for those really nice days when I feel like doing bigger longer turns (this is my "trophy" board). I don't think the size matters so much due to the fact that I've seen Ralann make turns just as tight on his 185 Speed as I do on my 168 F2. I think each board has it's own unique characteristics and you'll enjoy each one for just that. The 177 should strike a nice balance between your 2 other boards. Just my 2 cents....
  11. you should chime in on this......(He's got both....apparently...) ;)
  12. Kaoru: you've got mail Bryan: Zach wasn't there the day Ralann and I rode with you last season, but I told him all about it. He usually goes up between 10-12 times a season with me. He was finally starting to actually carve on his heelside last year, so we're really looking forward to this season. Here's some more pic's from last year.
  13. I'll let you have it and the X-Bones it currently has on it for $150.00 if you're interested. Here's a pic of it, it was my sons ride until he got his Renntiger at the end of last season. It's in great shape and has always been well maintained (we bought it new) The X-Bones we bought used, they're decent but have been around the block. BTW, the bindings on the board in the picture are F2's, not the X-Bones. I can take some more current pic's if you'd like. Let me know,
  14. You're my hero!   Ralann should chime in on the opposite side of the quote from CMC about stiffer/step-ins hinder some riders progression. I saw him go from bails to home-made step-ins last season and his riding level jump 10 fold. What ever feels good is what I say.....
  15. It's a FP 135cm and has been a great board. It had a small blem near the nose, but other than that it was sweet. He'll be listing it here this season as his main ride will be his Renntiger, but I think it might be a touch to small for you. Overall experience with Klug's site was decent, but shop around a little before you decide. I think we paid $100 for his board about 2 seasons ago if memory serves. I'll look around and see if I have any Tigers left from last season and drop you a line if I find something.
  16. That's incredible! My kids think that's the coolest thing they've ever seen....I better hide the skateboard or they'll have the Dachsie out in the street tomorrow morning trying to teach him how to board.....
  17. It definitely is a good workout, especially the "B" league players. Those Guys & Gals go end to end sometimes and it's hard to keep up if I'm the only one ref'ing that night. I'm working on my level 2 certification so I can ref tournaments.
  18. I'm 6'3" 190, so a wider stance is better suited to my size and riding "style" if you can call it that.... :o
  19. I'm speaking from personal experience :o .Trust me They "wheelie" like crazy and will spit you out into the trees toot-sweet. I have my board set-up more like the first one for that very reason. These boards "finish" turns differently than anything else I've ever ridden due to the split tail. Depending on how hard your driving out of the turn, they come around quickly at the end and have a "hook" effect. I rode a Oxygen LTD 2002 for a short stint a season or so ago and it had a similar feel due to the reverse taper. My Burners a 178, I don't ride it as aggressively as my Silberpfiel or Stealth, but it's still a blast to ride. I think I have a tendency to baby it because it took so long to find and I'm fearful of causing any damage to it. You can find them on ebay.de (where I found mine) you just have to keep looking and find someone who speaks english and is willing to ship to the states.
  20. Just let me know the dates and I'll set aside the time. Hopefully I can get Trikerdad, Ralann, & Dr. Sandman to come with me...ohhh sounds fun already!
  21. Hopefully this year will be the one. Plans fell apart at the end of last season, but I'm hoping to get a small group of us up there this season. I pulled out the Virus the other night and was getting all worked up until I realized it's still getting up to the 100 degree mark around here.....BRING ON WINTER!!!
  22. Blue-tomato has F2 demo boards for sale pretty cheap. Maybe you're in an area close to where they have a demo day for F2? I think you'd probaby like the SL, from what I hear they are a light, snappy board, similar to Renntigers in performance. Of course I'm always willing to try all three types, RS,SL, & Silberpfiel out for you if you want a detailed analysis....... :D
