  1. That thing is sic.....sign me up!
  2. I'm a goofy rider as well....and had the same shoulder dislocation issue as you years ago. To be honest....it is rather uncanny reading just how very similar our shoulder issues are. Back in 2000...I had the Bankart Shoulder Surgery (they put "grappling hooks" between the bones/muscles" as the Doc explained it to me) and I haven't had an issue since. BTW... I was in a sling for 6 months after the surgery...and than Physical Therapy for 6 months after that.... I would highly recommend getting the surgery if you can. My shoulder popped about a dozen times before I did....and I had to be taken to the hospital every time to have it "reset". Also...it would pop for me at the most mild activity. The one time I was going to sit down at the beach...and I had put my arms behind me to sit...and "snap" it just popped out. Arghhh! That was the very last time...and I went and had the surgery done 2 weeks later.
  3. I'm currently rocking a pair of Spyder pants that I bought last year in Germany for about $250. I love'em....super comfortable and super sharp....highly recommend. Also...I just bought my 3 month old the Sypder bunting outtie (and hat and gloves) to get him ready for the season....however...he has a little growing to do!
  4. Wow! Incredible thread, blog & pics! BTW....I used to live in the Black Hills and remember those Needles Highway rides and those amazing trails there....good times.... Stay safe brother...and safe travels!
  5. ^^^^Thank you for your service sir! ....and Dave...gorgeous ride....have fun!
  6. Yup...concur w/that. I still ride the same stance that I did from the mid-90s....about ~15-16in distance for the bindings....
  7. I agree w/you there...however...don't feel too guilty about buying the pass...you need to ride somwhere. At the end-of-the-day though....as we all know....Vail Resorts Inc. (NYSE:MTN) is a corporation like any other (IBM, Exxon, HP, Ford, etc...). There bottomline is unfortunately (for us)....profit....plain and simple. Give me a "family-run" resort anyday...however...good luck finding one of those now-a-days. Oh how I miss my little resort in Liechenstein (Malbun).

^^^^nah....that pow is all chopped up & ridden....the groomers can have it....
  9. Wow...a pretty legit crew....I likey....
  10. Nice pic! SNOW SNOW SNOW! I've been in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula for the last 4 months.....there has not been a day under 100F yet. So it sure is nice to see a pic of some green....and a mountain. I'll be back in Nor Cal around mid-Nov....so hopefully it'll be dumping up in Tahoe!
  11. Wow....great thread....enjoyed the read.... BTW...I "google'd" Soelden...and come to find out that I was only a two hour drive away when I was riding at Malbun! Arrghhh....I guess I just have to get back to Europe soon and check it out!
  12. Absolutely concur w/Donek's comments about shipping. Also...those DHL 757 Cargo planes shipping all of our stuff from Europe really negates any benefit an "eco-friendly board" may possibly have....when it's all said and done. Not to mention all the energy that goes into making the base materials (i.e. "titanal, rubber roil, etc...") like Donek mentioned....
  13. Incredible stuff....keep riding hard guys!
  14. Thank you for the warm welcome back....and looking forward to meeting up with some local riders.I never ended up getting any new gear in Germany....so when I get back to Cali I'll be in the market for a complete new set-up.
  15. Hey Ya'll.....Hope all is well....haven't been on the forums for awhile....but moved to the Sacramento area last summer. I wasn't able to hit Tahoe last season due to work.....but I plan on riding this winter up in Tahoe when I get back to the states around November.Anyways....hope everyone is doing well...and looking forward to getting back into a carve this winter.....
  16. Female...good to know...in that case...please continue with the comments! Hahah...my fiancé got a laugh ....
  17. HAahah...take it easy guys....but thanks for the tips...I was a certified ski and snowboard instructor too..... No one from the STL area w/any good shops?
  18. I rock the old school Reactors myself.....fit perfectly.....

    Monoski?

Dude....that is sic! love the set-up!
  20. We hit Malbun again this past weekend....23 inches of snow the nite before we got there. Check out the vid below.....more clowning than riding......but fun nonetheless. Also....headed back to the States this weekend...I have some work stuff in Texas for a week and then headed to Springfield, Il to meet up with my fiancé. Quick question...are there any good shops in the St Louis/Springfield area to get my fiancé a decent ski set-up? Also...and hardboard shops in the area? Thanks guys....
  21. Thanks to everyone for all the inputs! Gonna hit Malbun again this weekend after I get off work.....get a rental car on Friday and drive up starting at 3am on Saturday for a two-day session! I got the fiancé hooked on skiing....so it's a win-win for us!
  22. It does....what's funny is when I goto the Nurburgring....the Caddy attracts more attention than the Porsches, Bentleys, Lambos & Ferraris! Gotta love Detroit Muscle!;) BTW....the M's and AMG owners have a lot of respect for the CTS-V.....great groups of car guys over here!
  23. Quick question....just found a shop about an hour from me that sells Virus boots, boards and bindings. Good idea to go with an all Virus set-up? If so...what should I go with.....thanks guys!
