  1. That thing is sic.....sign me up!
  2. I'm a goofy rider as well....and had the same shoulder dislocation issue as you years ago. To be honest....it is rather uncanny reading just how very similar our shoulder issues are. Back in 2000...I had the Bankart Shoulder Surgery (they put "grappling hooks" between the bones/muscles" as the Doc explained it to me) and I haven't had an issue since. BTW... I was in a sling for 6 months after the surgery...and than Physical Therapy for 6 months after that.... I would highly recommend getting the surgery if you can. My shoulder popped about a dozen times before I did....and I had to be taken to the hospital every time to have it "reset". Also...it would pop for me at the most mild activity. The one time I was going to sit down at the beach...and I had put my arms behind me to sit...and "snap" it just popped out. Arghhh! That was the very last time...and I went and had the surgery done 2 weeks later.
  3. I'm currently rocking a pair of Spyder pants that I bought last year in Germany for about $250. I love'em....super comfortable and super sharp....highly recommend. Also...I just bought my 3 month old the Sypder bunting outtie (and hat and gloves) to get him ready for the season....however...he has a little growing to do!
  4. Wow! Incredible thread, blog & pics! BTW....I used to live in the Black Hills and remember those Needles Highway rides and those amazing trails there....good times.... Stay safe brother...and safe travels!
  5. ^^^^Thank you for your service sir! ....and Dave...gorgeous ride....have fun!
  6. Yup...concur w/that. I still ride the same stance that I did from the mid-90s....about ~15-16in distance for the bindings....
  7. I agree w/you there...however...don't feel too guilty about buying the pass...you need to ride somwhere. At the end-of-the-day though....as we all know....Vail Resorts Inc. (NYSE:MTN) is a corporation like any other (IBM, Exxon, HP, Ford, etc...). There bottomline is unfortunately (for us)....profit....plain and simple. Give me a "family-run" resort anyday...however...good luck finding one of those now-a-days. Oh how I miss my little resort in Liechenstein (Malbun).

^^^^nah....that pow is all chopped up & ridden....the groomers can have it....
  9. Wow...a pretty legit crew....I likey....
  10. Nice pic! SNOW SNOW SNOW! I've been in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula for the last 4 months.....there has not been a day under 100F yet. So it sure is nice to see a pic of some green....and a mountain. I'll be back in Nor Cal around mid-Nov....so hopefully it'll be dumping up in Tahoe!
  11. Wow....great thread....enjoyed the read.... BTW...I "google'd" Soelden...and come to find out that I was only a two hour drive away when I was riding at Malbun! Arrghhh....I guess I just have to get back to Europe soon and check it out!
  12. Absolutely concur w/Donek's comments about shipping. Also...those DHL 757 Cargo planes shipping all of our stuff from Europe really negates any benefit an "eco-friendly board" may possibly have....when it's all said and done. Not to mention all the energy that goes into making the base materials (i.e. "titanal, rubber roil, etc...") like Donek mentioned....
  13. Incredible stuff....keep riding hard guys!
  14. Thank you for the warm welcome back....and looking forward to meeting up with some local riders.I never ended up getting any new gear in Germany....so when I get back to Cali I'll be in the market for a complete new set-up.
