  1. Jim Jim that is good to know, maybe I'll plan that one too. My brother-in-law lives there. I'M GETTING STOKED FOR WINTER!!!!
  2. I am FB friends with Freddy Ansara and I thought a few others. Have not had much luck carrying a conversation with them. After we solidify dates I'll send him a message.
  3. and it's now used, Thirst 8R W.A.R.P. '15-'16 prototype. LT184.5cm, EE171cm, W 19.85
  4. I sent you a pm a few weeks ago davekempmeister...
  5. I think a week sooner would be better, the season before last the backside was closed on the 4th of Feb. I think this season will be better than that, but you never know. I sent a message to Jim Callen (the owner of bomber) asking permission to post info about my boards, it has been over a month and no answer from him. I'd like to go as a manufacturer, but if I am not welcome.....WTF!? So I'm not sure if it is even something to worry about. I am planning a trip to Utah Feb. 18-26. What can we/I do to increase interest, it seems the greater turnout the better. I don't think discount for lodging is important, You say lift ticket discount can be had for same online, be aware that liftopia tickets are not a fixed price and as they sell more the price can go up (this is info I got from the marketing director at Schweitzer) I feel that definite dates are important and would like to solidify that so I can continue conversation with events director at Schweitzer. Can you guys get more to chime in?
  6. ATC is the 5th-11th of February. I would like to have the option of making a trip for it. I wonder if we would loose a few to that event. Evan usually makes a trip down there, so we might loose him.
  7. Need to drag Bryan Sutherland out here.... As far as the resort is concerned, I don't count...I'm a season pass holder.
  8. Runs off of Iron Mountain express (Mercury, Copperhead, Silver streak) is a good place, not too busy and your up and down. Silver Queen is good but can get crowded from time to time and no quick way back up (unless it were 1983) without riding all the way to the village and ride Crescent lift back up. Phantasm is decent (Dreamcatcher lift).
  9. I spoke with Schweitzer mtn. resort services director yesterday (that phone call was 3 weeks in the works) about the carving event for 2017. I will continue working on generating interest by the resort and see what I can do to make it a recognized event. Looks like we have 3 people interested...hmmm, what can be done to increase interest?
  10. Sure, I'm with you guys...the more the better. We always have a great time. Snow should be good by late December. Let's keep in touch and watch what happens with the resort opening. We have had a record October for rain, just no snow yet. I will have my Thirst snowboard demo fleet ready! New BX 173 will be in the press tonight, 7 warp superconductor is next. FX, SF and more.
  11. The word on the street is that there will not be a proper NICE this year....maybe underground. Due to our lackluster attendance the resort is not interested in providing any perks for carvers. I have been trying since the tail of last season to receive a return call (or e-mail) from anyone at Schweitzer...so far, nothing. I'm going to keep trying.
  12. I see the Burton reactor M28 available. $100.00 Just checked again and they are still there. They are in NJ.
  13. There is a pair of Burton reactors on Alpine snowboard trader.
  14. I am Mark of Thirst snowboards, thank you Troy for the mention. I have researched ski and snowboard construction for years now and have not found one single company that has taken advantage of the main component...the core. I have been designing and building boards now for 37 years and have always built my cores differently. I create my cores using as few as 14 to more than 30 separate components. The board that Boardski mentions is the 7X. It has a asymmetrical core construction (for regular and Boardski rides goofy) and is a 179 all mountain design. The 7X has a carbon stack consumable above the edge and is hybrid in final assembly in that it is vacuum bagged but also pressed. As far as weight comparative to a board of the same length it has a waist that is 20.3 and shovel of 26.5, so it is fairly wide; hence the all mountain. I have since moved from the hybrid construction and carbon stack, it is too time consuming. I don't think that the comparison of my board to a Cadillac is quite fair. It is very responsive, easy to ride and extremely stable, not to mention fast. It loves very hard snow, rides great in powder and busts through chop, crud and slush. This board was my preference no matter what the conditions, but it is retired now and I have moved on to even greater designs and ideas to please my ever illusive customer. Thirst is on FB and you can find a link to my website there. UMUSTCARVE has some video from a few years ago on youtube you can check out.
  15. ETF: I have been watching your updates over some time. I am planning a trip to PC the tail end of next week 21-23 FEB14 for some riding. I used to live in PC and am a PCHS alum. I never got to board at Park City Ski area (as it was known back then). I moved to North Idaho the season the started allowing snowboards. I hope that somehow we could hook-up and ride. Don't worry about my skills, it is endurance that seems to be more of the problem as I get older. PM me if you are interested.
  16. The video really shows what a great training device the P.O.V. camera mount is. Guys take the time to watch other vids by Steve.
  17. Good job! Looking forward to riding with you in less than a week. Thanks for showing what a Thirst snowboard can do! Hard to believe that I built that board as an all-mountain. Wanna go faster? I should be bringing an 8r to PC.
  18. I can't return the message-you are blocking pm's I would like to chat a bit with you-"off the record".
  19. Have not had any issues with breaking anything on the boots. As was mentioned in this post-make certain that if any fasteners are loosened that you use removable thread locker. I has a screw come out of the cant adjuster and lost the disc. The liners are flo liners and I feel they work just fine. Give three days (10-13 runs each day) to get to a more comfortable fit. The liners are thin and that gets you good control, but they can be cold boots. I went a size down for 12/13 and it worked for me. I also feel that the green rc-10's were an improvement from the cream rc-10's. I think the plastic of the boot is more consistent in density and slightly more pliable than the creams. The tighter fit did also improve what I could feel was the liner moving within the boot, i.e. forward flex it would move up. In the past I had; and still have, a pair of Raichle 123's. These boots were way too soft-but a great boot and the warmest "ski boot style boot" I have ever had. I got to the point with the 123 that in a toe side turn I could cause the instep buckle to come loose "pop" and then I would have to stop and refasten only to have it come loose again in the next toe side. I could not say enough nice things about Dan@UPZ. I met him and his wife last year, his service and supp
  20. Interesting that a good majority of you think or are afraid they may be too stiff. The cream rc-10's that I had I could flex those boots until the upper buckles would rub on the lower buckles. I have green rc-10's and blue rc-10's now. I ride the green ones with the grey tongues. I am getting the feeling that you think I weigh 250+ but I don't. I am about 6'2" and 180lbs. Isn't stiff and responsive equipment what we are after? The boots are comfortable and take about three days to break in with the original liners. They are cold boots though, just wiggle your toes on the ride up and everything will be fine.
  21. I have a Volant GS 173, I am the original owner and board is in very good condition. Base has never been ground and there are no delam issues at all. I guess the price would have to be right for me to consider selling it. If you want to talk more send me a pm.
  22. Myself and Steve Pro are going to be there Fri, Sat, Sun. Thirst Snowboards will be making there maiden voyage. Staying at the Coffee cabin. I believe Pusbag will be up for Sat., Sun. See you guys there!
  23. Thanks Dan for the pics and great to see and ride with you again. Yes, I too like pic#1. I would have to admit that the pic is of me, later in the day on Ridge Run I believe.
  24. Thanks Pusbag for the pic. I had a great time, I will be up tomorrow for early loads!
