  1. Carving Lovey with Friends, Great Snow, Light Breezes and Sunburned Teeth! It doesn't get much better than that, unless there's a Bomber Demo Tent on site! WOOOHOOO! Exceptional Day! Thanks Again, Angie and Jim! YOU ROCK! until next time... James
  2. Erazz! Sorry we lost you yesterday! Gut disorders suck! In reference to your ski boot woes, I gleaned the nether regions of the equipment stash and uncovered some decent 28 & 28.5 Raichles, with liners roughly 10 & 10.5US! Both are resting in the SMV, patiently awaiting your perusal! The fold has been waning recently, so get well quickly, we need the presence! James
  3. Dude! The LCI Hooligans missed you yesterday! Get well buddy!!!
  4. Apex Cubed! - Myself, Mario & Ice! Yesterday's fun was intoxicating and these were much cleaner prior to the plank-wedging minions who followed! I'm sure some of our resident engineers will overthink this one!
  5. Sunday Sortie..... Solid ice parking * Mass wedding weirdness * Odd Job * Terry * Ice * Greenie * Todd * Myself * Lovey weather * Unknown Renn Tiger sighting * Massive Munchkin Alert * Mambo * Richards * Fire Bowl * Firecut * Gratifying groom destruction * Tasty Hydration * Windshield snow removal * I-70 Follies by 1:00 * Film at 11:00 * Back to regular scheduled chaos * Next Sunday * Be There! later James
  6. If you arrive early, we squat at a table, directly across from the Wedge Bar. Otherwise, as Mario quipped above. See you Sunday! later James
  7. On Sunday, I misplaced you hooligans, after a rare equipment change to softies. I later found Terry and headed up 6 for some powder fun. On the ride up, we witnessed an unsuspecting pizza-wedger come to an immediate halt and perform a near perfect, all equipment intact, 1-point faceplant on Roulette (obviously on the wrong lawn, eh Biggs). I found some deep freshies off Royal Flush and exploded under the ropes at the bottom so far out of bounds, I had to hike back up to the trail. And with the exception of some unwelcome impacted snow in the nether regions, it was all quite humorous. By 11:30 it appeared everyone found nirvana powder stashes, as the runs were relatively deserted, so I extended my day to the point of Weeble legs, exiting around 2:00. Oddly enough, return traffic wasn't horrendous... Nothing in stone, but considering tomorrow rather than Sunday, due to elevated temps and possible limited cloud cover, as opposed to Sunday's lesser forecast. Anyone else? James
  8. Yes, an odd day indeed... sunny, calm, warm, excellent grippy groom and acceptable I-70 return traffic... weird... TOTALLY AWESOME DAY! In addition to Mario's picturesque verbiage, a huge "Thank You" is extended to Jim and Angie Callen for offering a "Bomber Demo Tent", featuring a plethora of boards, boots and bindings for any and all to experience for absolute gratis! Jim and Angie worked diligently to assure anyone who wished to try hardbooting was gratified, once again exemplifying their commitment to customer service and promotion of our sport of choice! Noted interest was sparked within a number of possible recruits and even some veterans were drooling on the goods! Here's hoping Jim and Angie are currently enjoying a well-deserved hot springs recovery! weird... my face is warm... I think I got some sun... later James
  9. Heed the sage advice of the Canyonista, Grasshopper! Forsaking paranoia, many have succumbed to the attraction of riding in to said plowed berm, describing it as a mesmerizing black hole, drawing in the unsuspecting and spewing them out with reckless abandonment. Others have been inadvertently caught off guard, as their limited attention span leads them on a parallel course to eminent disaster. Ultimate decimation quickly ensues, as they disappear into the vast oblivion and are then dispelled in a disgusting heap atop the fervently unforgiving, white carpet. Ask me how I know… See you hooligans tomorrow! James
  10. Hooligan hilarity? I'm in for tomorrow and possibly next Friday work allowing! Boss is tough tho! tomorrow... James
  11. Might post a link to this info on the Yo Lci!! page, as we have a lot of local lurkers! I only hope he brings that rig to Lovey, but I doubt he has any clue as to what he's stolen or how to ride it! I'm 20min south of Denver and our only pawn shop is 100yds from the freeway, so I'll let them know! Sean, now THAT's support for our sport! later James
  12. Michelle, You and Bomber have always been synonymous in my mind, so some serious cerebral retraining is in order! Good luck in your new adventure and let us know when you come back for a visit! Take Care! James BIG SHOES TO FILL!
  13. Glad to hear you're okay softbootsailer and not seriously injured!!! It happens no matter how crowded or barren the run and I've been lucky... a few times! Example: A few years back, while sitting off to the side of a run, waiting for others to catch up, an idiot punk boarder thought at the last minute, it would be funny to cut between us at speed! Luckily, he only nicked the nose of my pristine Volant 173 metal top leaving a quarter-sized divot and although I tried to catch him, it was crowded that day, better judgement prevailed and I wrote it off as a "could of been much worse" situation! This season I brought out my red jacket trying to give some extra warning, yet my close encounter 5 weeks ago resulted in a leg cast! The run was empty and I stopped mid-run to check uphill and only one lone skier had just entered the top of the run, so I ventured out! The skier caught me before the bottom and blew past the nose of my board by only inches, causing an out of control chatter! The skier was just a blur! So I wonder why this happens so often? Could it be object fixation? - Having participated in high-speed racing, I know you WILL go where you look! Maybe we're just MESMERIZING to straight-liners! Who knows? later James
  14. I've had great luck with Teflon tape. It's cheap, clean and easy to use. Stretch a couple of wraps into the threads in the correct direction and pull tight to break. No mess and the residue removes easily. Good Luck! later James
  15. Leg is elevated and healing well, but I find myself re-reading and carving vicariously through the turn by turn postings, so post some more! I'd love to sit in some I-70 traffic, in order to be able to make just a couple of turns! If you need motivation, come on over and I'll kick you square in the butt with my cast! No excuses! Just go, have fun, don't whine, make turns and be thankful you can! The season is shorter than you think! later James
  16. Done for the Season! Officially a fracture of the Medial Malleolus (inside lower tibia at the ankle)! As stated above, avoiding a very close encounter with a two-plank straight-liner, mid-apex, toeside, stupidly huge chatter, a couple of last millisecond changes to no avail, ending in a very uneventful low-side! Inventory revealed nothing but ankle injury! Exemplary Patrollers and kudos to the EMS Staff at Loveland! Crazy injury, much like the outcome of jumping off a roof! According to the Doc, inside ankle injury is much better than outside! Pain is a roller coaster at this point, but no luck obtaining substantial meds! Hopefully only 2 weeks in cast, then boot for 6 more! Should be all healed and belligerent, just in time for mountain bike season! Special shout out to Arneburner for the Patrol Building exit and vehicle assist and also Big Mario and "The Dude" for the follow up! The LCI Rocks!
  17. A nice long bike ride today w/o pain, so I'm in for tomorrow! Wheeeee!
  18. Sorry to hear about the injury Matt, but glad to hear you're healing! Physical therapy is tough, but necessary! Heal well and quickly and we'll save you some snow! I experienced a minor pull of a gluteal muscle last Sunday avoiding Mario(who was avoiding a park monkey pylon), so I'll have to make the Sunday call tomorrow! But, a couple of Mambo runs, followed by some inebriating nectar might be considered therapy! Hmm...
  19. Sunday was an odd day indeed! Cold, warm, cloudy, sunny, windy, calm, clear runs, crowded runs, crisp groom, grippy groom, offset groom, undulating groom, marbles and boiler plate. In attendance, in no particular order were Mario, Monodude, NoirX252 and myself. Fire Bowl invoked episodes of vertigo due to low hanging clouds, so clearer heads prevailed and it was “game-on” for Roulette. Multiple laps produced crisp furrows in the entirely carvalicious groom, as was evident when my hands were knocked squarely off the bars, as I navigated around a "wedger" and slammed into one of Mario’s artfully-crafted and entirely bodacious trenches. Well done, Sir! The Dude limped off first with some sort of possible distortion to the sacro-lumbar, thoracumbular-facia area(lower back), Mario slipped out a few runs later due to uncertain familial premonitions, I opted out after a few more repetitions (warm enough at home for an afternoon motorcycle ride), leaving Juwan to compete with the ever-increasing crowds, straight liners and groups of wanna-be racers. All in all, it was a good day, turns were made and next week will be here soon! James
  20. Can't make tomorrow.. life crept up on me at the last minute... maybe next week!
  21. Sunday for me! If the forecast is correct, I may need to bring more than one ride!
  22. Hope you'll be up to dancing soon, Bigs! Speaking of jolly green jacket, I just found this throw-back to last spring with D.T., Shelly and Ink!
  23. Saw this on the light rail coming home today and thought this would be interesting to the aficionados here! I only had a couple of stops to talk to the rider/builder and he said it's super light and always draws a crowd, but it was a real pain in the arse to build!
  24. And speaking of Darth Vader... Last week on the lift with an 17-ish couple: Guy: "Is that thing fast?" Me: "Are you kidding? It made the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs!" Girl: "The Kessel Run.. Is, that the run over under Lift 4?" Me chuckling: "Uh, No... remember Star Wars? Harrison Ford? Han Solo? Luke Skywalker? Guy: "Noo...?" Me: Yeah, never mind... the board's VERY fast and turns like it's on rails!" Both: "Cool!"
