  1. http://content.yudu.com/web/y5b2/0A32wtw/32DegreesSpring2016/html/index.html?page=8 Pretty cool 2 page article.
  2. Second in line? Doubt it will matter though.
  3. 1. Higher cost doesn't help. 2. Hardbooting isn't an entry level discipline, 99% start w/softboots and either never evolve past that or quit the sport completely. 3. Burton's lack of support 4. Higher maintenance compared to softbooting. 5. Softboots are more comfortable. I'd rather ride 6 hours in softboots than 3 hours in hardboots. It's the 2nd reason I quit skiing, the boots hurt my feet. (1st reason being snowboarding is sooo much more fun) 6. Evolution of snowboard tech has reduced the 'need' for alpine boards/hardboots, As in, considering snow conditions, 15(?)years ago hardboots made a real difference 50(?)% of the time. Now with present day tech hardboots make a real difference 20(?)% of the time. My point primarily speaks to free/recreational carving, not racing or a disciplined/dedicated approach. I drag my elbows carving in softboots 9 out of 10 days out. For myself, and I believe most others, that's enough satisfaction that I struggle to actively pursue hardbooting in recent years. At the same time, I would never have evolved my riding to where it is w/o having hardbooted for almost a decade. I love snowboarding and (try to) appreciate EVERY discipline of it. I believe we all need to support each other (hardboots, softboots, jibbers, carvers). United we grow. Divided we struggle.
  4. We have another convert. Had a riding buddy try my Tanker (172 blood drop/vampire wing). After riding it he convinced another buddy to try it by reporting ~it's the best board I've ridden in a long time, maybe ever~ So second buddy tried it and said ~I'll buy it from you, how much do you want~ NOPE, not for sale. I did however find him another 172 (blue base with white S stripe, see SVR's first quiver pic in this thread). Ab-so-lute-lee loves it. smiLin'daVe grinning ear to ear. Now, I need advice on my next board. Shorter than 172, able to turn tighter radii than 172, rides just like a Tanker. Obvious answer may be a shorter Tanker. I see 162 and 167. Has anyone ridden these? Any other suggestions?
  5. I'll ask. Are you selling a 163 cm Prior and posted the wrong picture, or are you selling an F2 Speedster? Picture shows the bindings are F2. The boots: what brand and size? Asking prices?
  6. Welcome. Most local shop to north Jersey? I trust Heino's. http://www.heinosskiandcycle.com/ They're a smaller shop, inconveniently located on the south bound side of Rt 23 in Wayne. No shop in north Jersey stocks hardboot gear anymore, but Heino's has been there for decades and know all about alpine boarding. Amy, who works there, is a hardbooter. Best suggestion I can give is regarding boot fit. Just like ski boots, comfort makes ALL the difference. Heino's can help. To actually TRY gear? Make it to ECES this week (or catch Bomber's local demo days). http://forums.bomberonline.com/index.php?/forum/65-2016-eces/ http://forums.bomberonline.com/index.php?/topic/42967-toggenburg-and-seven-springs-demo-days/?hl=bomber Other than that, you'll be trying to make friends here online and asking to test their gear. Whatever you do, be patient and don't give up. It is soooo worth it, and will make you a better rider. Mountain Creek is my local. Drop me a message. Let me know if you need any extra help. Other local resources: usually couple riders at Hunter, Blue and Camelback have reputations of hardbooter groups, Whiteface, Stratton has Starting Gate shop (Gary, the owner, is a long time boot fitter).
  7. Hello to all Whitefishers. I am to be blessed with 8 potential days of carving from March 5th-12th. I will be staying at my sister-in-law's house. She told me," There IS a group of carvers...but they're kind of weird." I said,"Yeh, so what's your point? I mean...look at me. The epitome of normal?" She replied, " I see your point." I would be honored to ride with you any or all my days there. I'm a seasoned rider/experienced carver, respectful of all on the mountain...until disrespected. By all means, please check my profile. PM me any tips or info. To say I'm looking forward to this trip would be an understatement. Thanks...........DaveJ
  8. Lol. That's awesome. Surprised I missed that. Still think that euro board looks like a good deal though. Wish I could read...German(?)
  9. Why not this? http://m.ebay.de/itm/F2-ALPIN-RACEBOARD-SNOWBOARD-ELIMINATOR-2016-161-CM-FREECARVE-FREERIDE-CARVE-/222021936248?nav=SEARCH Euro prices are SOOO low.
  10. No PM? F2 (and about 1/2 the above boards listed) were purchased through BOL classifieds. http://forums.bomberonline.com/index.php?/topic/40537-madd-170-and-f2-eldiablo-165/?fromsearch=1 Is the exact sale thread. Has less than a handful of days since I bought it. Addition stuff available too: Rossi VAS 160 K2 HC asym goofy (NOS, still needs inserts drilled) Catek OS1 long plate Raichle AF600 w/Booster straps (shell=325L, 25.0-27.5, liner=27.5) Couple different Rome SB bindings and cash is ALWAYS an acceptable trade. Keep digging.
  11. If be extremely grateful for one of these. PMed.

  13. http://www.ohski.com/#!ONSNO-Kickstarter-2016/cw3r/563550820cf201d72f26b0ed Wow... Should be an honorable mention for http://onboardmag.com/features/lists/10-horrible-snowboard-inventions.html#8qKrVr2EEbCvzRza.97 Soooooo entertaining to watch. Copy and paste entire top link gives you the kickstart video of the OhSki OnSno. 2nd half of video is snowboard. Don't know why entire link didn't hyperlink. Enjoy.
  14. Pm'ed. First in line?
  15. Bump Still looking Anything similar?
  16. http://forums.bomberonline.com/index.php?/topic/41976-no-more-tankers/?view=getnewpost
  17. I have other interests, but this one just made top of my list. MADD BX 168 How much with Shipping to 07871 or 59937.
  18. What if it's a valued board. Got used MADD bx168 preseason this year. Three runs of RAILin turns left and right, got to the top and noticed the topsheet separating at the tip. MADD reissue? (Being its a bx model, don't think they ar available in vintage MADD) I recall other BOL threads suggesting marine grade epoxy, metal plate for base side, metal plate for Topsheet side, and clamp clamp clamp. For 24 hours. Any reputable shop is capable? Mail it to a pro shop for repair? Should I blame J.Gilmore????? DaveJ
  19. I'd start low (obviously not so low to cause drag) and increase little by little. Eventually you'll realize you've increased to much and turn them down to your ideal. Or, plan B, ride switch with duck stance, and we'll see you on the podium.
  20. All my armchair research suggested either burton driver x or salomon malamutes as the stiffest on the market in recent years. I bought both, each now about 2 years old. Driver x is just slightly stiffer with better lacing system. Downside is I never use them. To much heel bang on my rear foot. Malamutes win hands down, for me. Comfortable all day. Lacing takes just slightly longer and maybe needs to be redone (tightened) once a day. Difference in stiffness is little to none. Bottom line, I'll take a 9 stiff boot that's comfortable over a 10 stiff uncomfortable any day. Of course, all this is nil point if your bindings are for sh!t.
  21. Recently acquired a Kite 179 from my local Craigslist. I am confused on the length. I thought 179 was to indicate 179cm. Layed it up against my other boards to find it closest to a 164cm length... So, it's a board designed for snow kiting...? So, 179 is simply part of the name...?
  22. If the above is accurate I am stepping out of line. I'd love to own the pair, but can't justify $500 each for boards I'll rarely ride. Of course, if they're cheap, then I want them.
  23. PMed, because I didn't want to call at 230am west coast time.
