I just went thru Exact Situation last two seasons, 26 mondo, 26 cm waist; my carve angles 60/55, AllMt/Pow angles 50/40, hardboots for all. I never found a solution to mitigate underhang for my beautiful Prior Swallowtail 26+ waist, so finally decided to order custom 22cm waist DayDreamer from Winterstick. Thirst PC PCj are two other great options. I know, Not a great answer, expensive answer, but same realities as having optimum waist width for carving ‘boards.

First: remove boot hinge/cant screws and boot cuff. no hammer. but, sounds like you hammered success.

with steeper angles, narrow boards, ie: 65/60, 60/60, 60/55, I tinker more with toe-raise & heel-lift, minimal inward canting. opposite w shallower angles, wider board, ie: 50/45 45/45 or 45/40, I think more about inWard canting w stance width. It All needs to feel neutral and comfortable when locked in, on the carpet. the older I get, the more I try shit that feels better and works, even though it used to be wrong ; )

Pretty sure there are different versions for UPZ or Deeluxe. Does this set fit both boot brands? They look UPZ Style to me with the 90° step lip at bottom vs horizontal pin (deeluxe).

Can Do, Will Do overall, small resort w mainly blue runs, we’ve been getting 2-6” every week and temps staying below freezing. Targhee’s nickname is Grand Foggy, top 1/3 is vertigo foogy often; but when sunny, spectacular. More Pics Vid to follow…

short answer: dgss has longer springs; more room to play & adj preload and still have range adj. similar to finding/adjusting the right bushings for skateboarding or longboarding; dialing in the suspension fork / shock on mt bike. I do have silver/stiff tongues (not thick gray) which probably accounts for 80% of feel and function I want. Spring system is more secondary and adjustable for snow (my mood) conditions.

The DGSS will be about $175 total, door to door from Italy. I have DGSS on my RCR’s and really like’em. I have BTS on my Deeluxe 325’s. DGSS’ are quiet! If you’re in a hurry or on a budget, I can sell you UPZ RCR BOX Spring Kit (complete, w spring options) for $90+ship (from Idaho). AND what JBurk said, Tongues probably better for stiffness increase. A spring system is great for smooth consistent resistant flexing, and a little increase range of flex.

For anyone coming to the Tetons to carve ‘Targhee, know that there is a local lone wolf who would like to connect, ride a chair, buy a ‘round. Feb 5th update: recent snow and currently snowing daily 2-6”, the Ghee is full tilt primo from groomers to off piste, everything is open.

mellowjonny, true-the Ghee is doing all right-I would have seen you up there, but I was out of town; maintaining my lone wolf status! @8” in last 48hrs, the ‘roy will be primo for the next week.
