    Yo Lci!!

I was behind mario on Indy 500. I didn't quite understand why he called it that until i saw it. Vid from today, thanks @Odd Job for filming.
  2. Here you go @Beckmann AG No more pirate leg on heelsides. Only thing i changed for this trip on the nirvana i'm riding in this video is that i got rid of the sidewinders and went with td3 standard step-ins. Conditions were pretty good today. One of the key things i worked on today was not pressuring the board too early on heelside as that would cause me to get ahead of the board. I've also been trying to work on quiet hands, but i still get jazz hands every now and then. In this second video my riding was kind of "meh". Had a two heelsides where i f'd up on timing. Third video: Shot from behind, not sure what happened on that early heelside. Perhaps i ran into one of @big mario 's trenches?

    Yo Lci!!

We stayed until 3ish. We lapped roulette a bit and ended with a few laps on 1. And my nirvana, it turns out, is ****ing awesome without the sidewinders, in better conditions, and not being tired. I think Saturday i was just tired due to lack of sleep and the conditions on Saturday were very caca. Odd job got some good video of me, i'll post it once it's uploaded to the tubes. Thanks for taking me over to scrub! that was amazing steepness, despite some random chunks. You were right, after scrub, roulette was cake. Awesome riding with the lov crew, as always! I will be there tomorrow as well for half a day. Then heading back to boring flat Texas.
  4. I have an older carbon eliminator that has just a few days on the snow. I bought this board as my first hard boot board because i didn't know wtf i was doing. I never liked it. It's been sitting unused for a few years. The edges have a little bit of rust but nothing that can't be removed with a stone. If anyone is interested, let me know and i'll go dig it up and post the specs.
  5. What's the sidecut on those super long downhill skii's the use? Somebody needs to bite the bullet and run the course on an alpine setup.
  6. I'm sure there are some very obvious answers, but why can't someone on a hardboot setup actually run a course like this? I'm guessing it's just too much speed for a single edge? Or perhaps nobody has the cojones to do it?
  7. Bummer, i literally sent payment this morning for an older pair of size 28 upz. Had i seen this earlier i would have jumped on it.

    Yo Lci!!

I will be back on the weekend of the 30th. Conditions should still be good. See ya'll then. This might be my last trip of the season.
  10. Makes sense. I'm a lightweight at 160 lbs; i don't stress my gear nearly as much.
  11. I would be concerned about the different stack heights this would result in. The SW uppers are higher than the standard uppers. (i think)
  12. i dunno, i maybe have 3 days on ski's. Every time i see an advanced skier carving some very nice and aggressive turns, i tell myself i want to do that. If i had more days on the snow i would probably split my days 50/50 hardboots then ski. carving fast on skis looks freaking amazing and fun. Wow, you must be putting some serious loads on it. Makes sense.
  13. If anyone is willing to part ways with their upz boot shells and they are size 28, let me know.
  14. I broke the boa mechanism on my k2 maysis back when i was riding in softboots. BOA sent me a free replacement nob and associated hardware. It was easy to replace. Are you blowing out your boots in such a way that they simply can't be repaired? That sounds like total caca if you have to replace your boots every season.
  15. i'll have to wait until the weekend after next. Still haven't decided if i'm going aspen or doing luv again. I was too focused on riding this time around to ask someone to film it. Now that's an interesting suggestion.
  16. My new coiler AM with a more softboot biased flex is t4 and it carves pretty much everything. I can't really say how much of a difference t4 vs t3 makes. I do have an older nirvana and EC that are t3. but they feel the same to me.
  17. DO you have very limited rear foot ankle dorsiflexion like i do?

    Yo Lci!!

Monday was even better than Sunday. Awesome groom and conditions. Only did a half day since my legs were smoked from riding open to close the two days prior. Always a good time riding with the luv crew. I might be back, the weekend after next. It was certainly fun destroying the valley with @big mario and Aron(?). I even almost felt sorry for the n00bs that were tripping over our trenches....almost.
  19. i'm down for two slots for early next season. just need to figure out what to order. Right now i'm thinking of a soft booter and a stubby.
  20. It should be fairly easy for bomber to make a legit 9 degree lift. Are you using this for heel lift?
  21. Alright folks, I just wanted to give a big thanks to all of you for the advice received. I'm at a very happy place now. Final changes that i'm sticking with are as follows: 6/6 toe and heel lift max inward cuff cant on both upz's, (around 1 degrees) Back to 19" stance (18" stance felt too twitchy and awkward af. might event try 20 at some point) first click of forward lean on both boots slight inwards canting on rear binding. I think around 1-2 degrees. Black pads for the uppers on my sidewinders. Riding at loveland this weekend, i have finally achieved a balanced and centered stance, and i can easily do small carves on the flats now, where before it was a lot harder probably due to restricted biomechanics. My bullshit meter tells me that i'm at about 96% of the way there with my setup to perfection. The last 4% is boot fitting related since my intuitions are packing out during the day. And i think i'm going to eliminate the sidewinder aspect of my setup and go with standard uppers since I like a more instant response to inputs. I'm also going to take @big mario's advice and stop asking for feedback.
  22. Straight from Bruce's mouth: Ended up making a 170 x 19.8 x 148 effective 17 cm nose with a wider pow outline ( up from 13.2 cm used on Nirvana boards) 5 cm setback ( Nirvana's have 3 to 3.5 cm) Softboot biased flex which is seems to be best for true AM riding. This board should be called the tired legs board. I rode it today on my last day of this trip at loveland. My legs were already smoked from two prior open to close days. I was still having a blast with this board due to its flex profile. I even worked up the courage to carve spillway and it handled it without issues. This board just loves to be tipped on edge, then it just goes on autopilot.
  23. Bruce built me an AM to my specs. It’s my favorite board and easily a quiver killer. Carve the groomers or pow in the trees. This board does it all.
