  1. Thanks! Yeah i was thinking about doing that, lol. I don't have any experience with video editing software but i'll give that a go for the next set of videos from tomorrow. I think i might be able to do it in youtube itself.
  2. Just tried the Contra today. I liked it so much i bought it off of @yamifumi You can see the vids of my riding here. Specs on this board are: Contra - 172cm - 20cm waist - 48cm stance - 12.5m SCR - Built for 200lbs rider to be stiffer than usual, i weigh 170ish - Hammer head nose w/ flat sharp tail - P-tex with Black top + white logo
  3. Some more from today on @yamifumi's, soon to be mine, contra.
  4. Just wanted to show off some footage from today. Amazing what a big difference reducing fwd lean on my rear boot made. It was a good day with @Odd Job https://photos.app.goo.gl/tYoNExTP9T6CLMmF8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/mvus5Gn7puhbJSAf7 (if i look like a hunch back, that's my camel pack under my jacket)

    Yo Lci!!

We were at A basin for most of the day today. It wasn't too windy, but i remember some very windy days at loveland last season and the one before. Perhaps i'll come ride with you guys next time i come out. I hope you are all doing well.
  6. my body is weird. I use a little bit of inwards cant on my back foot and i have both boot cuffs canted inwards (upz). 6/6 lift. It's the only way i'm able to achieve a neutral balanced stance while carpet carving. Works for me.
  7. Agreed, those guys can rip and they definitely handle non-ideal conditions well. I need to experiment more with stance widths.
  8. niiice. is it just me or was it common to use much shorter stance widths back then?
  9. as stated by @Corey i don't understand why you are being so confrontational here. We haven't even met and you are making assumptions that i want to see your riding just to critique it and call you out on something you said or didn't. I also corrected myself in an earlier post by saying that by sliding i meant the small jump in between turns. For the record i'd never offer up critique of anyone's riding unless it's a thread specifically titled "critique my riding". I don't care what style you ride or how anyone carves their turns. I just want too see some awesome riding that's all. nobody is trying to compare "sticks" here.
  10. @dgCarve post up some footage of your riding!
  11. i have learned so much just by watching these slow motion reels. Good stuff. I wish he would publish the regular speed versions of them. I couldn't find them last time i looked. Is that bruce at 9:21?
  12. Still one of my favorite videos to watch so many different styles showcased here.
  13. i want to see more videos of people carving the really steep stuff.
  14. I'll add mine from last season. I think this was copper.
  15. So this is what i was specifically talking about, jumping into the next turn. When he lands out of the jump he is pushing snow before establishing the next carve and sliding a little bit in the direction of that jump. i wasn't referring to the typical sliding turns you see a lot of snowboarders doing.
  16. lol yeah. They think they are a tech company. maybe they plan on a SaaS offering. Snowboard as a Service?
  17. hmm, but i do see him go uphill a few times to scrub speed. Does the GS style involve jumping the transition into a small slide that then transitions into a carve? Or is this just the technique that he's using on a steep run? That's what i can see he is doing and also why he sprays a lot of snow. (correct me if i'm wrong) Definitely awesome riding!
  18. I will most likely join you at some point this season depending how things play out. My favorite runs of all time are the runs in snowmass off the big burn chair.
  19. I'm ok discussing now. Your feedback has been crucial in getting my setup in a stable place. I'll start with a few things i noticed, you tell me if i'm on the right path: Lagging outside shoulder on heelside? Not enough articulation at hips which is why it looks like i'm just kind of tipping from one turn into another? I should probably stack a bit more towards the nose and initiate the transitions earlier. That's all i got, but i must say i'm pretty happy with my riding and at least my current technique lets me deal with snow irregularities and recovering from hitting soft or icy patches suddenly.
  20. Not much action here so i'll post these two videos taken of me by @yamifumi at A basin last weekend. 2nd day of the season, Coiler nirvana energy t4. If my ass looks like it's sticking out it's because of the covid-19lbs i have gained. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AGua7UjAihjIzhzc_IvTV7qPSEsikQMP/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1inggke2kG7-DXvtxKfjsJ5LOAT9whd8_/view?usp=sharing
  21. ah yes, good old keyboard carving analysis. they are having fun and look better than 99% of softbooters out there. That's all that matters.
  22. when i listen to music, it's all i want to hear. Low volumes are a no go for me. Perhaps when i make it back out to aspen on a weekday and i have a very sparsely populated run, i'll experiment with some music again. Whenever i go for an outdoor or indoor run, i absolutely need some type of music between 170-180 bpm to help me keep cadence for my "barefoot-style" running. (zero drop heel shoes that promote for/mid-foot strike instead of heel strike)
  23. i once experimented riding with music. My first gen airpods work great for my ear anatomy. They fit very snug and won't budge even when running or jumping rope. they stay in place with my helmet on. Riding with music freaked me out for reasons discussed above. I'm already super paranoid about getting hit from behind. Or also the very odd chance that someone is trying to yell at me to warn me about the Lion or Bear that is chasing me.
  24. The t4 is great. It has amazing edge hold which i think has boosted my confidence level and allowed me to ride faster and more aggressively.
